  • Publication number: 20030089554
Abstract: A method of and device for applying a liquid coating to the threads and only the bearing face of a threaded nut and the resulting coated nut are provided. The method includes providing a pumping mechanism that has a container containing the liquid lubricant and a pumping mechanism connected with the container. The pumping mechanism includes a liquid ejecting device having an actuatable delivery mechanism. A foraminous pad supports the face of a nut that is to have liquid lubricant applied thereto. A nut to be coated with the lubricant is placed on the foraminous pad and thereafter the delivery mechanism is actuated to eject liquid onto the threads and the foraminous pad to provide a nut which has coating on only the threads and on the bearing surface or face.

  • Patent number: 4895221
Abstract: A new method and apparatus for quickening in the insertion of a fish tape through a conduit by reducing the occurrence of frictional adhering. The apparatus provided in several embodiments uses flexible lubricant carrying materials having pressure sensitive fluid release characteristics affixed to the free end of a fish tape. The apparatus is saturated with a fluid lubricant prior to being inserted into an opening of the conduit and pushed. As the pressure sensitive material enters a bend in the conduit, pressure is applied to the pressure sensitive material by the long radius wall surface of the bend causing lubricant to be released. The possibility of frictional adhering of anything being pushed through the bend is greatly reduced. The apparatus moves past the well lubricated area and is immediately followed by the body of the fish tape.

  • Patent number: 4557351
Abstract: An improved lubrication system for lubricating the moving parts of a walking beam compressor used in compressing low pressure natural gas. The compressor is mounted on a walking beam oil pump. The lubrication system introduces oil through the length of a piston shaft and through a plurality of oil cooling chambers in the interior of a piston. The oil is then forced out through piston outlet ports disposed between the piston's compression rings and wear rings for providing an improved lubricant seal and extending the life of rings.

  • Patent number: 4290511
Abstract: A load-carrying, shock absorbing strut is provided comprising an outer tube for carrying a wheel axle journal. There is slidably accommodated in the tube a shock absorber cylinder which is connected with the chassis frame. A downwardly emerging piston rod of the cylinder is fastened to the bottom of the outer tube. Between the shock absorber cylinder and the outer tube there is provided a lubricant annular chamber of constant volume which is closed off above and below by upper and lower guide and sealing rings arranged on the outer tube. A sealing ring is arranged above each guide ring with axially limited play and comprise lubricant-sealing felt rings. To effect good dirt-deflecting action there is present above the upper sealing ring a dirt-deflecting ring which has the dual function of limiting the sealing ring axial play as well as removing dirt from the shock absorber cylinder.

  • Patent number: 4275096
Abstract: A method and apparatus for dispensing a fluid in a conduit and more particularly for dispensing lubricant within an electrical conduit for facilitating pulling electrical cables through the conduit. The apparatus is in the form of a cartridge disposed in the conduit at an end thereof. The cartridge is made of a pair of sealed and separable members. One of the members is a flanged sleeve forming the casing of the cartridge, in which is coaxially disposed the other member forming a tubular support member or carrier for a mass of resilient and absorbent lubricant impregnated porous material compressibly packed between the inner surface of the sleeve casing and the carrier. A cable pulling strand, or fishtape, is passed through the tubular carrier, and the cables to be pulled through the conduit are attached to the end of the fishtape. A plug inserted in the open end of the tubular carrier prevents the fishtape and the cables attached thereto from being pulled back through the carrier.
