Abstract: The claimed invention relates to a container assembly for applying grease to the ball of a trailer hitch. Specifically, the grease applicator comprises a lower housing with an upper concave surface and an upper housing with an upper concave surface further comprising at least one aperture. Grease is introduced between the upper concave surface of the lower housing and the upper concave surface of the upper housing such that when the two surfaces are pressed together grease is emitted from the at least one aperture in the upper concave surface.

Abstract: An oil pan 1 includes: an oil pan body 2 having a reservoir 21 for storing oil circulated in an engine E and returned to the reservoir 21; and a separator 3 having a vertically extending sidewall unit 4 partitioning the reservoir 21 into a first reservoir 21a for storing high-temperature oil and a second reservoir 21b for storing low-temperature oil. The first reservoir 21a has a suction-member-placement region 22 in which a member for sucking oil is provided. The separator 3 has an inclined portion 61 extending, to the suction-member-placement region 22, from a portion below a downstream end of a return pipe Rt for allowing oil to return to the first reservoir 21a.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a protective cap (20) for a grease nipple. The protective cap comprises a removable cap portion (22) with an internal cavity (23) that is shaped to fit over and enclose a nipple head of the grease nipple, and comprises an attachment portion (24) that is adapted to remain attached to the grease nipple when the cap portion is removed. According to the invention, the attachment portion (24) of the protective cap (20) comprises a plurality of through holes (26, 27, 28, 29) each of which has a unique diameter.
Abstract: Disclosed is a rubber composition containing 100 parts by weight of a rubber blend comprising 99-85 by weight % of chloroprene rubber and 1-15 by weight % of chlorinated polyethylene rubber, (A) 10 to 30 parts by weight of a polyether ester-based plasticizer having a molecular weight of 450 to 650, or (B) 10 to 30 parts by weight of both of a polyether ester-based plasticizer having a molecular weight of 450 to 900 and an ester-based plasticizer having a molecular weight 350 to 500, and 3 to 10 parts by weight of two or more aromatic amine-based antioxidants. The rubber composition can simultaneously satisfy requirements for use as, for example, an automobile grease cup material, that is, heat resistance, ozone resistance, cold resistance, and adhesion to metal or resin.
Abstract: An axle assembly that includes a housing assembly, a lubricant and a differential assembly. The housing assembly defines a differential cavity with a lubricant sump into which the liquid lubricant is received. The differential assembly is mounted in the differential cavity for rotation about a rotational axis and includes a differential case, a ring gear, a gear set and an oil shield. The differential case has a body, which defines a gear cavity into which the gear set is received, and a flange that is coupled to the body and includes a flange face. The ring gear is coupled to the flange. The oil shield is coupled for rotation to the differential case and covers a least a radially outward portion of the circumferentially discontinuous features so that they do not directly contact the liquid lubricant in the lubricant sump when the differential assembly rotates about the rotational axis.
Abstract: A plug assembly for the oil gallery of an internal combustion engine. The engine has a cylindrical passage leading from the interior to the exterior thereof. There is a circumferential groove in the passage. The plug includes a seal piece and an outer skirt portion subdivided into a piece having an outer end portion with a radial flange for snugly engaging said engine block, and an axially extending free end portion with a radially extending locking tab porting engaging the circumferential groove. The locking tab can move into and out of registration with the circumferential groove.
Abstract: A cap for sealing an outer end of an oil filler tube of an engine where the oil filler tube has an inner end with ball valve having a float ball and mating valve seat for impeding any reverse flow of oil during engine operation. The cap includes a sealable plug mating the tube outer end; a rod extending from the plug toward the inner end of the tube; and a valve opening device mounted to the rod for dislodging the float ball from the valve seat.

Abstract: A sealing device for securing an oil plug in threaded engagement with the oil pan to prevent inadvertent loss of lubricating oil therefrom. The sealing device includes an elastomeric washer that underlies the bolt head of the oil plug, a partially closed-ended cylindrical sleeve that surrounds and is integral with the washer, and a cap that is interconnected to the sleeve by a membrane. The sleeve has a protruding lip extending about its upper periphery that interlocks with an abutment extending inwardly from an upper peripheral portion of the cap. Once engaged, the cap prevents the oil plug from being tampered with and from inadvertently dropping out.
Abstract: A plug for protecting the interior of a recessed area of a component during storage is disclosed herein. The plug includes a lubrication fitting positioned thereon to flow a protective material, such as grease, into the cavity between the lower end of the plug and the recessed area and any remaining voids between the walls of the plug and the walls of the recessed area. The plug may also include an engagement surface to assist in the insertion and removal of the plug into and out of recessed areas of a component.
