With Motor Patents (Class 185/7)
  • Patent number: 7765804
Abstract: A motor mounted on a structural support with a pivot at its center line which comprises a cylindrical vessel for holding a fluid in a closed system and in which a buoyant cylinder containing a lighter fluid is allowed to free float so that a cable attached to either end of the buoyant cylinder may be used to transfer energy to a energy storage unit, a crank or a generator. Two moment arms having a weight attached at the exterior end and inside attachably connected to the surface of two drive pistons that operate in pressure tanks which force a compressed gas against the pistons through pre-sequenced automatic activated valves to extend or retract the moment arms at the end of a cycle. The motor then becomes top heavy and rotates 180 degrees by gravity and relocks in place to repeat the cycle.

  • Patent number: 5890240
Abstract: A drum for rolling up and unrolling protective covers has a driven pendulum within for applying a rotary moment to cause the drum to roll. The pendulum is powered in one rotary direction or the other by an electrical motor according to a signal from outside the drum, and battery packs are enclosed with the drive elements to provide a power source. A sealed drum is provided to float in swimming pools. In another embodiment, a common electric drill is used for the drive mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5533214
Abstract: A self-powered drum for rolling up and unrolling protective covers has a driven pendulum within for applying a rotary moment to cause the drum to roll. The pendulum is powered in one rotary direction or the other by an electrical motor according to a signal from outside the drum, and battery packs are enclosed with the drive elements to provide a power source. A sealed drum is provided to float in swimming pools.

  • Patent number: 4589259
Abstract: A gravity operated rotor with an auxiliary motor is provided and consists of a plurality of radially extending curved chutes with slideable weights therein affixed around the circumference of a rotor drum whereby the force of gravity will change the center of gravity within the rotor drum to rotate a drive shaft connected to it which keeps the rotor drum rotating. When friction eventually slows down the rotation of the rotor drum the auxiliary motor will assist in rotating the drive shaft.

  • Patent number: 4450362
Abstract: A windmill drives a drum having a cable coiled thereon, the cable holding a weight. The windmill lifts the weight, and the weight on dropping drives an AC generator. A plurality of drums and weights are mounted on a first common shaft connected with the AC generator, and a plurality of drive pulleys are mounted on a second common shaft connected with the windmill. Individual clutches selectively connect the drums/weights with the first shaft for driving the AC generator, and individual clutches selectively connect the drive pulleys with the second shaft.

  • Patent number: 4307571
Abstract: A rotatable device having outwardly extending weighted arms of thermally expandable material is supported for rotation about an axis arranged at an angle to the vertical. The device is exposed to the sun or other source of radiant energy, causing the arms to expand lengthwise. A sun shield is provided over a portion of the area of movement of the arms so that when they move out of the shade of the shield, they expand lengthwise and whey they move into such shade, they contract. The resultant differential lengthening of the arms establishes an unbalance of moments of gravitational force in the arms to thereby apply a continuous torque to the assembly.

  • Patent number: 4302903
Abstract: A stepping device supported on two legs capable of walking or stepping up and down steps. The device has a pair of legs rotatably mounted to and suspended vertically from spaced points on a link. A pendulum is rotatably mounted to the link and suspended vertically from a central axis on the link between the leg mounting points. Means is provided for swinging the pendulum from the vertical thereby increasing the lever arm from the center of gravity of the pendulum to the mounting point of the leg closest to the pendulum. As the pendulum approaches the horizontal, the moment about the mounting point in a direction opposite the direction of pendulum movement exceeds the counter moment about the mounting point. This causes the link to lift the trailing leg up and over the leading leg, thereby maintaining the balance of the device on the supporting leg and causing a stepping movement.
