One End Anchored Patents (Class 188/333)
  • Patent number: 6899205
Abstract: A drum brake assembly including a rotatable drum having a radially inner braking surface and a brake shoe of single piece construction and of generally circular form mounted within the drum against a backing plate. The brake shoe has a radially outer face and a friction lining mounted thereon in facing relationship to the radially inner braking surface. Actuator having actuated brake on and released brake off conditions and being operable in the actuated condition to diametrically expand the brake shoe is provided. Positioners are also provided for positioning the brake shoe within the drum when the actuator is in the brake off condition to provide for complete clearance between the outer face of the friction lining and the inner braking surface of the drum. A grinding jig for grinding friction lining is also provided. A brake assembly having a connector for connecting the brake shoe to the backing plate.

  • Patent number: 6837124
Abstract: A directly driven power swing rod device without dead points includes a control rod provided with a coordinate rod base, two L-shaped frames respectively provided with a hole base having a bearing fixed therein, two motors respectively provided with a position detecting coder for receiving a coordinate message and transmitting it to a control device which is able to control the rotating angles of the motor shafts respectively connected with the two L-shaped frames, a first interacting member inserted through a guide hole of the coordinate rod base and secured with the first L-shaped frame, and a second interacting member having one end inserted in a positioning hole of said coordinate rod base and the other end connected with the second L-shaped frame. Then the control rod may be deflected by the motors for driving a high speed, sensitive response system.

  • Patent number: 6644141
Abstract: The present invention relates to an arrangement in connection with a control device (1) particularly used for controlling a forestry machine and a boom thereof. The control device comprises a frame section (5), a handle (2) attached pivotally thereto, operating switches (3) at the handle and a control keyboard (4) arranged in connection with the handle onto a supporting plate (8) surrounding the handle. The present invention enables a driver to reach all control keys (9) of the control device at all operating positions of the control device. Thus the supporting plate comprises a dome-shaped element having, for example, spherical outer surface (10) and being arranged in connection with the handle (2). The control keyboard (4) is arranged on the outer surface of this element.

  • Patent number: 5022502
Abstract: A duo servo drum brake shoe anchor having a T-shaped configuration in which the inner recess corner surfaces define a pocket on each side, each of which receives a rounded end of one of the shoes in force transmittable engagement. The crossbar part of the anchor is located on one end of the keystone-shaped main body part of the anchor. The main body part has slanted sides which contract the tendency of the secondary shoe end, for example when forward braking is in process, to move outwardly in a wedging action, and the crossbar part lower sides forming part of the pockets prevent the shoe end in the pocket from moving outwardly toward the drum being braked.

  • Patent number: 4363387
Abstract: A wheel cylinder and torque plate construction is provided for a drum brake. The wheel cylinder comprises a molded plastic cylindrical member in a steel shell. The steel shell can be part of a torque plate which can be stamped in two parts which are substantially identical and then affixed together. The torque plate parts have semicylindrical shells which form the wheel cylinder shell when the parts are assembled. The plastic cylinder can be molded in the shell in a suitable die or mold in a plastic molding machine.

  • Patent number: 4018312
Abstract: A duo-servo parking brake in which brake shoes are moved into contact with a brake drum on a wheel unit by a four-joint link assembly which is actuated by an actuation cable connecting to a pedal or handle actuable by the driver of a vehicle, and which is so disposed that the actuation cable may be led at a right-angle from the wheel unit and so avoid contact with vehicle suspension elements. Connections of links in the four-link assembly are all rotatory connections, whereby friction and wear of parts are reduced and improved transmission of braking force exerted by the actuation cable is achieved.
