Flat Patents (Class 19/110)
  • Patent number: 6205620
Abstract: A method of producing apparatus for use in fiber processing, and in particular blades for pre-carding flats in a cotton card. The method comprises the steps of providing a body (32) defining a multiplicity of bores (34) extending between rear and front faces thereof, providing a multiplicity of pointed pins (44) of corresponding diameter to the bores, locating the pins (44) in the bores (34) from the rear of the body such that the points extend from the front of the body, and fixing the pins in the body.

  • Patent number: 6189184
Abstract: A carding machine includes a machine frame; a fiber processing roll carrying a roll clothing and having a rotary axis; and a stationary carding segment including a carrier mounted on the machine frame; and two carding elements affixed to the carrier and arranged serially as viewed circumferentially of the roll. Each carding element has an element clothing for cooperating with the roll clothing. The carding segment further has a mechanism for turning the carding elements as a unit about a turning axis extending parallel to the rotary axis of the roll for adjusting a distance of the element clothings from the roll clothing.

  • Patent number: 5930869
Abstract: The carding distance (KA) between clothings (14, 15) is scanned using an optical device (22, 26) e.g. using a laser beam (24) from the side of the working area. The measuring value thus obtained can be compared to a pre-set target value in such a manner that the distance mentioned can be adjusted. Card with a controllable actuator system (32, 34) for setting the carding gap between the clothing on the main drum and the clothing on the flats, and with a programmable control system (12) which can influence the actuator system. A sensor system (26, 28) measures the carding gap in order to render regulation of the gap possible. The control system obtains, and processes respectively, data connected with the state of the clothing. The control system (12) is programmed in such a manner that regulation is effected as long as the measuring values supplied by the sensor system appear to be "plausible".

  • Patent number: 4996746
Abstract: The flat cleaning apparatus employs a comb for loosening fibers and dirt particles carried by the revolving flats of the revolving flat clothing. In addition, a casing which travels across the width of the revolving system has a suction nozzle for drawing up the loosened strips of fibers and dirt particles. In addition, a brush is provided downstream of the suction nozzle which is movable relative to the flats to clean between the flats so as to release deep-seated dirt after the strips are removed. The brush is mounted in a chamber which communicates with the suction nozzle so that a suction force is available for removing the deep-seated dirt brought up by the brush.

  • Patent number: 4987647
Abstract: A travelling flat bar includes a head, an opening in the head, a coupling element received in the opening and arranged for attaching the flat bar to a flat-moving chain and a securing (locking) arrangement for readily releasably retaining the coupling element in the opening. The locking arrangement cooperates with the coupling element for form-lockingly retaining the coupling element in the opening.

  • Patent number: 4353149
Abstract: Flat cleaning system for a card equipped with a set of revolving flats, in which the flats (12) consist of a T-shaped profile, and in which, by temporary sealing, of the room between the webs 18, 18a of two neighboring flats (12,12a) using a sealing element 30, a longitudinal duct is formed, in which duct an air stream is generated. By this air stream, any fly waste accumulated on the back side of, and between the flats 12, 12a is eliminated. The air stream in the duct, generated by lateral suction, cleans any fly waste and dust particles accumulated in the duct out of the duct, only low energy suction being required.

  • Patent number: 4196497
Abstract: A vacuuming device for carding equipment for cleaning the revolving flats in which a vacuuming box is located between a licker-in and the adjacent flats deflection roller. The vacuuming box is enclosed on all sides. The region of the flats deflection roller on the inside of the revolving flats, accommodates a guide element for diverting dust-laden air in the direction of at least one intake opening in the vacuuming box. This intake opening is associated with the revolving flats. The guide element may be made hollow to receive dust-laden air, and may be connected in a sealing manner with the revolving flats. The vacuuming box may have two intake openings which are placed so that one of these openings always faces an open gap between the revolving flats. The intake openings may be in the form of slots extending throughout the width of the card. A layer for sealing off the revolving flats, may be made of soft material and may be located on the vacuuming box in front of the intake openings.
