Patent number: 5208947Abstract: A clearer for draft rollers is provided, wherein the material for a cloth guide urging a clearer cloth onto draft rollers is changed to an elastic element having an outer shell composed of a flexible sheet made of sponge, foam rubber, foam urethane, plastic, rubber and the like and containing gas, liquid, gel, sol, powder, fine particles, and the like disposed at the back of the clearer cloth where the clearer cloth does not directly urge the draft rollers, in an appropriate length corresponding to the draft rollers whereby the need for the work of changing the cloth guide position is eliminated even if the roller gauges between the draft rollers are changed, and which prevents scraps of fiber and dust from accumulating as floating fibers in the cloth guide.Type: GrantFiled: March 5, 1992Date of Patent: May 11, 1993Assignee: Murao and Company LimitedInventors: Hiroaki Sanno, Hiroshi Nakayama

Patent number: 5179764Abstract: A cleaner for a spinning machine which includes a plurality of drafting mechanisms arranged along an axis of the spinning machine. The cleaner includes a cleaning belt, arranged in each one of the drafting mechanisms to contact at least one drafting roller in the one drafting mechanism, for cleaning fiber dust and lint from at least one drafting roller in the one drafting mechanism; a transporting belt, arranged to contact each of the cleaning belts, for transporting the fiber dust and lint from each of the cleaning belts along the axis of the spinning machine; a scratch-off roller, which contacts the transporting belt and rotates at an angle relative to a running direction of the transporting belt, for removing the fiber dust and lint from the transporting roller; a mechanism for wiping fiber dust and lint from the scratch-off roller; and a mechanism for suctioning the fiber dust and lint which is wiped from the scratch-off roller by the wiping mechanism.Type: GrantFiled: July 25, 1991Date of Patent: January 19, 1993Assignee: Toray Engineering Co., Ltd.Inventors: Takashi Iwade, Kosei Nagata

Patent number: 5088157Abstract: A unit drafting mechanism of a spinning machine, having at least one unit drafting mechanism and provided with a pair of slide metals disposed on roller stands facing each other, and a plurality of bottom rollers and top rollers journaled on these slide metals in a rotatable condition, wherein each bottom roller is provided with an axial air passage formed coaxially with its center axis, air jet apertures are radially formed at both end portions near the bearing bores of the slide metals, each aperture is connected to the axial air passage, and the axial air passage is connected to a source of compressed air, whereby the possible deposition of flies in the circumference around the journal portions of the draft rollers can be effectively eliminated by continuously or intermittently supplying compressed air through the axial air passage of the bottom rollers.Type: GrantFiled: October 3, 1990Date of Patent: February 18, 1992Assignee: Howa Machinery, Ltd.Inventors: Hironori Yasuda, Yoshiharu Tomoto

Patent number: 4985967Abstract: In the case of a drafting unit for a spinning machine, a loading support is provided which has two arms extending in parallel with respect to one another at a distance which accommodate the holding devices for the shafts of the pressure roller twins and which are reinforced to form a frame by means of cross-struts. In addition, a cover is provided which covers the loading support and the pressure rollers and which can be swiveled away without interrupting the spinning operation.Type: GrantFiled: January 31, 1990Date of Patent: January 22, 1991Assignees: Fritz Stahlecker, Hans StahleckerInventors: Fritz Stahlecker, Hans Stahlecker

Patent number: 4509230Abstract: A drafting mechanism for a spinning machine containing a preliminary drafting zone and a main drafting zone is cleaned. There is provided an infeed roller pair comprising an upper roller and a lower roller, an exit or delivery roller pair comprising an upper roller and a lower roller, and an upper apron and a lower apron driven by an apron roller pair. The preliminary drafting zone extends between the infeed roller pair and the nip line formed by the apron rollers pressed against the upper and lower aprons, and the main drafting zone extends between this nip line and the exit roller pair. The lower apron extends beneath the preliminary drafting zone and the lower infeed roller. During operation of the drafting mechanism the lower apron is in grazing or wiping contact with the lower one of the infeed rollers. There is thus attained cleaning of the lower infeed roller and the lower apron without requiring special means for such cleaning.Type: GrantFiled: June 29, 1983Date of Patent: April 9, 1985Assignee: Rieter Machine Works Ltd.Inventor: Arthur Wuermli

Patent number: 4370781Abstract: There is provided a clearer device located above a series of draft rolls with a predetermined number of plumbs and secured inside a cover plate rotatable and removable by means of a pivot formed in part of two side plates. This clearer device is characterized in that endless clearer members stretch between intermittently driven clearer rolls and guide members permitting said clearer members to abut front top rolls fixedly secured. A pressure member is springingly held back of said clearer members to force downward said clearer members and permit said top rolls or a top apron to come into contact with said clearer members. The clearer rolls are intermittently driven by swinging a rocking lever pivoted on the shafts of said clearer rolls via an oscillation lever and rotating a ratchet gear fixed on said roll shafts by means of engaging tooth at said rocking lever.Type: GrantFiled: December 2, 1980Date of Patent: February 1, 1983Inventor: Yoshio Murao
