Abstract: An integrated luggage apparatus includes: a rear shell, a front shell hingedly attached to the rear shell by a hinged attachment, a cart base fixedly attached to a bottom of the rear shell; a cart frame pivotally attached to the cart base; at least one wheel assembly; and a handle assembly. When the front shell is rotated about a hinged attachment and comes into contact with the rear shell, both the front shell and the rear shell define a space for a person to pack personal items, such as clothing.

Abstract: A luggage piece may include a first shell and a second shell pivotably joined to the first shell. The luggage piece may include a clamp-type latch configured to releasably secure the first shell to the second shell. The luggage case may further include a frame assembly. The frame assembly may include opposing first and second frame members. The first frame member and the second frame member may be joined to the first shell and the second shell, respectively. The first and second frame members may be pivotably joined together by a hinge. The first frame member may be configured with a first recess to receive therein at least a portion of the clamp-type latch such that exterior surfaces of the first shell, the first frame member, and the clamp-type latch are substantially flush with each other when the clamp-type latch is positioned in its latched position.

Abstract: The present invention provides a new and useful apparatus for charging battery powered electronic devices using a rolling means. The rolling means transfers mechanical energy from a plurality of wheels to a generator by way of a gear ratio. The generator in turn yields electrical energy that is later transformed via integrated circuitry into viable power for the purposes of charging an optional internal batter or that of an attached device. This apparatus does not limit the user's mobility and can be used in everyday settings. The apparatus can be an integral part of a piece of luggage or added to an existing hand cart. Additionally, the apparatus can have a connection for a DC input to charge the internal battery when the apparatus is not in motion.

Abstract: A bag equipped with a bottom case, which is comprised of a bottom plate and a side peripheral wall and is integrally provided at its inner or outer surface with handle holding members and at its outer surface with caster mounting members, and which is coupled to an upper case made of fabric material or synthetic resin, is disclosed. The bottom case is detachably coupled to an upper case to allow only one case of both cases to be separated from the other case and to be cleaned or replaced with a new one. The bottom case is provided at its side wall with a reinforcing frame to prevent the side wall from being squeezed or broken. The bottom case is provided with handle mounting members to be integrally formed thereto or to be separated therefrom so as to diversify design and appearance of the bag.

An edge portion of the side panel and an edge portion of the base panel are arranged to securely mount along the edge holders respectively so as to connect the side panel with the base panel. At least one of the edge frames is constructed to form a utility edge frame and the multi-functional edge frame arrangement further includes a mounting unit provided on the utility edge frame and a container accessory including a reinforcing member shaped and sized to fittedly mount on the mounting unit.

Abstract: A luggage frame assembly comprises a fabric frame and a plastic frame wherein plastic frame is a closed member except the open front side, mating fasteners are equally spaced apart around the inner surface of the peripheral edge of the open front side of plastic frame, a steel cable frame is formed around the peripheral edge of the open front side of fabric frame, a zipper is fastened around the peripheral edge of the open front side of fabric frame to secure to the steal cable frame, and opposite mating fasteners are equally spaced apart around the inner surface of the joining of the zipper and the steel cable frame. Mating fasteners cling to opposite mating fasteners to secure fabric frame and plastic frame at the peripheral edges of the front side of the luggage in assembly.

Abstract: The invention relates to a suitcase with interchangeable case-shells, the central part of which (10) includes two stable half-frames (20, 30) bearing one against the other. Said half-frames (20, 30) are used as supports for the two case-shells (41, 42) of the suitcase. Each shell is detachably connected to the half-frame (20, 30) assigned to it. In order to ensure mutual support of the load, each shell (41, 42; 51, 52) edge is extended, at least in partial portions, by a flange (43, 44) the length of which is chosen so as to ensure that, when the suitcase is closed, the flange of the first shell (41; 51) and the flange (44) of the second shell (42; 52) abut against each other.

Abstract: A portable animal carrier is disclosed which permits the transportation of a small animal, such as a cat or dog, in the passenger compartment of an airplane, by securely and safely containing the animal, but permitting placement below the airplane seat. In addition to providing manual carrying of the portable animal carrier, a supplemental strap is provided which may be used to either accommodate the insertion of a pull out handle from a wheeled article of luggage, to retain the portable animal carrier on top of the wheeled article of luggage, or insertion of an automobile safety strap to safely retain the portable animal carrier on an automobile seat.

Abstract: A trunk case includes first and second casings which are hinged together at one side and a frame member which is mounted to the peripheral edge of the respective casing. The peripheral edge of each of the casings has an enlarged portion. The frame member includes an engaging portion with a groove that is defined by two opposed plates and a pair of ribs that project respectively from inner surfaces of the opposed plates. The enlarged portion of the respective casing extend into a bottom of the groove and engages securely the ribs adjacent to the enlarged portion thereof.

Abstract: A valence for a luggage or carrying case includes male and female extrusions adapted to be secured to the opposing edges of the case sections. The extrusions include dual structures for positively securing the extrusions to the edges of case sections as well as mating male and female portions adapted to establish a seal between the male and female extrusions when the luggage or carrying case is in a closed condition. The frame extrusions further include structures by which accessory items such as rails can be supported in a convenient manner and for the purposes intended.

Abstract: A luggage case is constructed from four flat extruded plastic beams having ribs on one surface, and four inside corner pieces that include tongues extending into the recesses defined by the ribs. Fabric fits over the frame thus provided. Exterior corner pieces overlie the corners of the fabric and are attached to the inner corner pieces. The corner pieces extend the full width of the case to support the fabric. Wheels may be provided to allow the case to be pulled. Cases of different sizes are produced by cutting a plastic extrusion to form beams of different lengths. The same corner pieces are used for cases of all sizes.

Abstract: A rigid or semi-rigid suitcase consists of a central frame forming a closed rigid annulus to which are assembled two rigid shells, one shell being welded to one side of the frame and the other shell being hinged on the other side. The suitcase is further characterized in that the central frame, made of a single piece, is shaped so that it comprises, in its latch portion or top panel, a recess closed by a reinforcing member with which the recess cooperates so as to form a hollow beam serving as a stiffening member for the top of the suitcase, the hollow beam receiving the locking mechanisms, the central handle and the lateral handle of the suitcase.

Abstract: A doubler channel is provided for the main top wall support frame in a carrying case. The doubler channel extends vertically a substantial distance for increasing the beam strength of the top walls of the carrying case. A latch mechanism is proivided wholly outside of the support frame of the top wall of the carrying case. The support frame and doubler channel are all easily assembled without the need for screws or nuts and bolts. The latch mechanism conceals and anchors the ends of the doubler channel.

Abstract: A carrier for use with a folded garment carry-on bag includes a stiffening frame within the lower half of the bag. The longitudinally extending frame members extend through the bottom wall of the bag and are provided with horizontal terminal portions on which the ground wheels are rotatably supported, thus obviating an external axle and permitting the ground wheels to be placed inwardly of the longitudinal side edges of the bag.
