  • Publication number: 20080223687
Abstract: A friction plate for a wet-type multiplate clutch is provided with a core plate and friction linings bonded on opposite sides of the core plate, respectively. Each of the friction linings is composed of plural segment pieces each having at least one first oil groove and at least one second oil groove. The first oil groove opens to a radially-inner side of the friction plate and has a closed end portion located in a radially-intermediate part of the friction lining, and the second oil groove opens to a radially-outer side of the friction plate and has a closed end portion located in another radially-intermediate part of the friction lining. The second oil groove has an opening flared outwardly in a radial direction.

  • Publication number: 20080173516
Abstract: In a friction plate 40, segment pieces 42 of a friction material are bonded onto a core plate 40 at intervals in a circumferential direction. 43 denotes a spline tooth. On each segment piece, there are formed a first oil groove which is made to open to an inside-diameter side of the segment piece and has its end portion part-way along the segment piece (hereinafter, referred to as a first oil groove) and a second oil groove which is made to open to an outside-diameter side of the segment piece and has its end portion part-way along the segment piece (hereinafter, referred to as a second oil groove). Segment pieces in which a first oil groove 51 and second oil grooves 61 are pressure molded and segment pieces in which a first oil grooves 52 and second oil grooves 62 are stamped are arranged alternately.

  • Publication number: 20080173517
Abstract: Segment pieces 42 of a friction material are bonded onto a core plate 41 of a friction plate 40 for a wet multi-plate clutch at intervals. A porosity of a perimetric portion 43 of the segment piece 42 which is shaded with oblique lines is made smaller by pressing or increasing a resin content of the perimetric portion 43. In addition, a perimetric portion which corresponds to the portion 43 may be made up of a separate member of a different material having a small porosity.

  • Patent number: 6729452
Abstract: A fluid transmitting device includes a side cover connected to a pump impeller and defining a clutch chamber between the side cover and an outer surface of a turbine runner, and a lock-up clutch which includes a clutch piston connected to the turbine runner. The clutch chamber is divided by the clutch piston into an inner oil chamber and an outer oil chamber. The inner oil chamber is divided into primary and secondary inner oil chamber sections provided between the turbine runner and the clutch piston. Upon operation of a lock-up control device, the clutch piston is urged in a clutch switch-on direction, pressure in the primary inner oil chamber section relative to the outer oil chamber is raised and then pressure in the secondary inner oil chamber section is raised relative to the outer oil chamber.

  • Patent number: 6293870
Abstract: A damper disc assembly having multiple embodiments. In one embodiment, spring seats are arranged at opposite ends of coil springs disposed between a power input rotary member and a power output rotary member. Each spring seat has a contacting surface with mutually perpendicular slanting portions. In another embodiment, a modified spring seat determines a phase or orientation of the power input rotary member with respect to the power output rotary member. In a third embodiment, a friction element is formed of resin and includes a friction adjusting element. The body portion of the friction element is made of resin and includes a friction generating surface that contacts a side surface of the sub-plate. The fiction adjusting element is provided in the friction generating surface of the body portion by molding and modifies the friction coefficient thereof. In a fourth embodiment, the friction element has a coating applied to a friction surface which modifies the friction coefficient.
