  • Publication number: 20030188595
Abstract: The invention relates to a setting device for an adjustable gearing mechanism, in particular, for selecting a parking position in an automatic transmission. The inventive setting device comprises a mechanical setting element, an intermediate gearing mechanism for transferring the setting motion of the setting element to a control element of the adjustable gearing mechanism. A mechanical energy store, which can be replenished once again by the setting element, is provided for driving the intermediate mechanism when the setting element malfunctions.

  • Patent number: 6623402
Abstract: An apparatus includes a linear solenoid valve regulating an oil pressure supplied to a clutch, a hydraulic switch being switched on and off upon receipt of a switching oil pressure, and a control unit controlling the actuation of the solenoid valve. A pressure-increased side signal oil pressure is detected which results when the hydraulic switch is switched on and off while a control signal is sent to the solenoid valve to increase a control oil pressure from a predetermined lower pressure to a predetermined higher pressure, and a pressure-decreased side signal oil pressure is detected which results when the hydraulic switch is switched on and off while the control signal is sent to decrease the control oil pressure from the predetermined higher pressure to the predetermined lower pressure. When a difference between these signal oil pressures exceeds an abnormalities determination value, it is determined that the solenoid valve is abnormal.

  • Publication number: 20030158012
Abstract: The invention relates to a differential assembly (6, 7) comprising a differential drive (13), a differential-speed-sensing locking mechanism (23) and a brake assembly (11). The differential drive comprises a housing (10) with a driving journal (18) rotatably supported therein and with a carrier (12) which, in respect of drive, is connected to the driving journal (18) and which is rotatably supported in the housing (10), and differential gears (20, 20′) which rotate with the carrier (12) and are rotatably supported therein, as well as two axle shaft gears (19, 19′) which engage the differential gears (20, 20′). The differential-speed-sensing locking mechanism (23) serves to adapt the rotational speed between the two axle shaft gears (19, 19′). The brake assembly (11) is arranged at the housing (10) and serves to brake the rotational movements of the two axle shaft gears (19, 19′) relative to the housing (10).

  • Publication number: 20030062234
Abstract: A brake is provided that includes a friction disc assembly having two opposing friction discs separated by at least one resilient biasing member. A brake disc is positioned between the friction discs of the friction disc assembly and is splined to rotate with the shaft. A side of each friction disk that faces the brake disc is covered with a friction material. In normal operations, the friction discs are spaced apart from the brake disc. When it is desired to slow the rotation of the shaft, a release member contacts and compresses the friction disc assembly against a housing causing the friction material on each of the friction discs to contact and slow rotation of the brake disc. The present invention is particularly suited for use as a clutch brake for slowing rotation of an input shaft disposed between a clutch and a transmission of a vehicle.

  • Patent number: 6354421
Abstract: A brake system in a buggy includes first and second brake shafts which are disposed on one side of the left and right differential output shafts in a longitudinal direction of the vehicle and in parallel to the left and right differential output shafts and which are driven at increased speeds by the left and right differential output shafts. The first and second brake shafts and the first and second brakes are accommodated within a reduction case, so that the first and second brakes are cooled by lubricating oil within the reduction case. Thus, the brake system in the buggy can be mounted at a high level above the ground; is excellent in dustproof and waterproof properties; is cooled satisfactorily, and moreover, is capable of reliably braking left and right wheels simultaneously.
