Abstract: A disc brake with a friction disc having a pair of annular friction surfaces placed between brake shoes disposed about such friction surfaces for coming into frictional engagement therewith when the brake is actuated, the friction disc including a cast member located in the region of the surfaces which come into frictional contact with the brake shoes when the brake is actuated, the cast member including a separating joint running oblique with respect to the friction surfaces.
