Abstract: A torque fluctuation absorbing apparatus for absorbing a torque fluctuation generated between an engine and a transmission includes a dumper portion having a first plate member, a second plate member and a plurality of coil springs. The second plate member includes a first plate portion and a second plate portion to interpose therebetween the first plate member. The plurality of coil springs is provided between the first and second plate members. The plurality of coil springs is arranged to compress when the first and second plate members move relative to each other thereby absorbing a torque fluctuation generated by a difference between a rotation of the first plate member and a rotation of the second plate member. The first plate member is connected to an output shaft of the engine. The second plate member is connected to an input shaft of the transmission.

Abstract: The invention relates to a decoupling sleeve having driving and driven shafts connected by dog clutches. The driving shaft transmits torque to the driven shaft in one direction during a forward direction of rotation where a rod-shaped connecting member is connected to two shafts so that the connecting member is detached from one of the shafts if subject to a reverse torque beyond a specific threshold. The two shafts become free in rotation relative to one another upon this detachment.

Abstract: The invention eliminates the need of handling an engine in a process for assembling a torsion damper which couples the engine with a power transmission system and a torque limiter. In a damper unit with a torque limiter positioned between an output shaft of an engine and a power transmission shaft of a power transmission system, the damper unit includes a fly wheel damper, a torsion damper and a torque limiter. The torque limiter of the damper unit is coupled to the torsion damper with a set load applied thereto such that the torque limiter and the torsion damper are combined to form an assembly. The torsion damper and the torque limiter can be assembled by handling, independently of the engine, only components which are smaller and lighter than an engine. This improves the efficiency of the assembling operation of the damper unit with the torque limiter.

Abstract: A torque limiting includes first and second rotational plates, first and second springs, and a slip device. The first rotational plate is coupled to a torque input device. The second rotational plate is coupled to a drive shaft, and is configured to be movable along an axial direction thereof. The first spring has a first free length, and exerts a first spring force against the second rotational plate toward the first rotational plate. The second spring has a second free length, smaller than the first free length, and selectively exerts a second spring force against the second rotational plate toward the first rotational plate. The slip device, disposed at least partially within or between the first and second rotational plates, causes relative motion between the first and second rotational plates when torque overcomes the combined first and second spring forces exerted against the second rotational plate.
