Plural Resilient Members Patents (Class 192/55.6)
  • Publication number: 20130048459
Abstract: A lock-up device for a torque converter is provided whereby vibration attributed to coil springs can be reliably inhibited. In the lock-up device, two large coil springs of each pair are disposed in series. Stiffness ratios ?1 and ?2 between an N-th torsional stiffness and an (N+1)-th torsional stiffness are set to be greater than or equal to 1.5 and less than or equal to 3.0 (N is positive integer) in a multistage torsional characteristic produced by compressing at least one of the two large coil springs of each pair and a small coil spring in accordance with a relative angle between an input rotary member and an output rotary member.

  • Patent number: 8215468
Abstract: A torque-transmission system with a decoupler (1) between a shaft (2) and a belt pulley (3) of a starter generator is provided. The belt pulley can rotate relative to the shaft (2). For reducing rotary oscillations, the decoupler (1) includes a damping device arranged between the belt pulley (3) and the shaft (2) with at least one spring element (5). The decoupler (1) includes an automatic locking device (7) that is dependent on a direction of rotation and that produces, at a low rotational speed level, a coupling between the belt pulley (3) and the shaft (2), and this coupling automatically disconnects when a pre-determined rotational speed is reached.

  • Patent number: 7980369
Abstract: The present invention comprises a lash prevention spring of unique design having a plurality of spring legs shaped into an s-curve and an inner circumference formed into at least one spline. The invention also comprises a lash prevention assembly in which the disclosed lash spring is attached to a damper hub and is biased against the several teeth from a turbine hub that extend through the damper hub from its opposite side.

  • Patent number: 6846258
Abstract: There is provided a planetary reduction gear 10 between a gas turbine 1 and a generator 5. The planetary reduction gear includes elastic deformation unit 12 on an output side, and for the elastic deformation unit, a strain energy within an elastic limit is set to be larger than a fluctuation torque energy of the generator of a momentary voltage drop time. The elastic deformation unit 12 includes an elastic member which elastically connects an output shaft 10a of the planetary reduction gear to an outer ring 10b. Thereby, when an excessive torque is generated in the generator by a momentary voltage drop, service interruption, and the like for a short time, it is possible to maintain the operation of a power generation facility, and secure a power supply of an important load, and an installation length is shortened and the facility can be downsized.

  • Patent number: 6484859
Abstract: A shaft coupling having two attachment elements that are rotatable relative to one another and that are connected to one another by a rotationally resilient assembly, and further having a dampening device which is active between the attachment elements for the purpose of suppressing torsional vibrations of the rotationally resilient assembly is disclosed. The rotationally resilient assembly comprises two ramp discs that are rotatable relative to one another and that support one another at least indirectly. One disc is supported in a rotationally fixed and rigid manner on one of the attachment elements and the other disc is supported in a rotationally fixed and axially resilient manner on the other one of the attachment elements by a spring. The dampening device is a viscous coupling having a hub connected to one of the attachment elements and a housing connected to the other one of the attachment elements.

  • Patent number: 6397523
Abstract: A drive device for a vehicle slide door apparatus includes a first rotation disc assembly mounted on a shaft to be rotated together with the shaft and a second rotation disc assembly mounted on the shaft to be rotatable relative to the shaft. The second rotation disc assembly is coupled to the first rotation disc assembly in detachable manner, and the second rotation disc assembly is operatively associated with an electric driving source. An output gear is mounted on the shaft so as to be rotated together with the shaft.

  • Patent number: 6183368
Abstract: A flexible coupling assembly installed between a driving member and a driven machine or device. The flexible coupling assembly includes a one-way over-running clutch mechanism incorporated therein and transfers torque from the driving member to the driven device, while compensating for any angular and offset misalignment between two coupling members. The clutch mechanism provides driving torque in one rotational direction and over-running capability in the other, thereby accommodating large torque fluctuations from the driving member. This clutch mechanism is integrated within an intermediate housing assembly that is easily coupled between two jaw-type shaft couplings. Because the present invention eliminates the need for an intermediate shaft between the flexible coupling and a separate clutch mechanism, it further simplifies the installation of the assembly while reducing the overall space required.
