Patent number: 11299926Abstract: A drive mechanism for imparting movements to a door which pivots about a generally vertical axis between open and closed positions. The drive mechanism includes a frame, a power source mounted on the frame or positively driving an output shaft of the drive mechanism and thus, moving the door from a closed position toward an open position. The drive mechanism also includes an output shaft mounted for rotation about a fixed axis disposed generally parallel to a fixed axis of a power source drive shaft. A drive train including a plurality of intermeshing gear sets is arranged between the power source drive shaft and the output shaft. At least one gear set in the drive train includes a clutch mechanism selectively operable in either an engaged condition or a disengaged condition. When in a disengaged condition, the clutch mechanism operably transfers rotational movements of the power source to the output shaft so as to forcibly open the door.Type: GrantFiled: April 24, 2020Date of Patent: April 12, 2022Assignee: MOTIONACCESS, LLC.Inventors: Robert L. Publication number: 20140166425Abstract: A hydraulic actuating pin system is disclosed with an actuating pin, clutch drum, spring and hydraulics. The clutch drum has a scalloped annulus with raised and lowered sections. The spring pushes the pin towards the scalloped annulus. When the pin extends into the lowered section, it prevents the clutch drum from rotating. The hydraulics can compress the spring and extract the pin to allow the clutch drum to rotate. The proximal end of the pin can include a head, and hydraulic pressure can move the head to compress the spring. When the pin is fully extended into the lowered section, the end of the pin can not touch the bottom of the lowered section. The hydraulics can include a one-way valve allowing flow from a pump source to the pin, and a pressure release orifice allowing controlled release of hydraulic pressure from the pin.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 19, 2012Publication date: June 19, 2014Applicant: Deere and CompanyInventors: Jeffrey A. Publication number: 20120046141Abstract: An automated system for testing a variety of transmissions and drive line gearbox components, and more particularly helicopter transmissions, for reliability, life expectancy, efficiency, and the like on a semi-automated basis. The system powers a unit under test with a pair of AC, variable speed drive motors connected to the transmission through relatively low speed gearboxes which in turn drive the input(s) of the test unit through geared cartridge spindles (GCSs) employing planetary gearset inputs driving a higher speed machine tool type spindle with an output chuck system which can automatically couple to adapters preloaded on the unit under test. Similar GCSs couple the outputs of the test unit to AC motors which act as generators to power the driving motors and thereby reduce the required electric power input to the losses in the system.Type: ApplicationFiled: August 22, 2011Publication date: February 23, 2012Applicant: REDVIKING GROUP, LLCInventors: Gerald W. Publication number: 20110284338Abstract: A system having a rotary output, including a drive shaft, a pin coupled to the drive shaft and an output shaft coupled to the drive shaft. A guideway is associated with the output shaft. Rotation of the drive shaft results in rotation of the output shaft and the guideway and movement of the pin along a pin path. The system is prevented from providing a rotary output when the pin abuts against a sidewall of the guideway, but permitted to provide a rotary output when the portion of the guideway aligned with the pin path corresponds with the position of the pin.Type: ApplicationFiled: February 12, 2010Publication date: November 24, 2011Applicant: CORCOST LIMITEDInventor: Steven Corcoran

Publication number: 20110158695Abstract: Clutch mechanism includes support plate, input element to which driving force is input, output element configured to rotate upon receiving driving force, first elastic member configured to bias output element toward support plate, first member including sliding arm inserted through through-hole of support plate and first slide surface, and second member configured to accommodate first member and including second slide surface. Insertion of the sliding arm into through-hole prevents rotation of first member with respect to support plate but allows first member to approach and move away from support plate. Output element moves apart from input element to cut off driving force when second member is in first rotational position. When second member rotates to second rotational position, output element outputs driving force transmitted from input element.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 20, 2010Publication date: June 30, 2011Applicant: KYOCERA MITA CORPORATIONInventor: Yuuki Tamura

Patent number: 6745882Abstract: A locking clutch comprises a toothed member and a slide assembly which are connectable to drive and driven parts. The two members are movable between an engaged position in which the clutch transfers power and/or torque to the driven part and a disengaged position in which power and/or torque is not transferred. The toothed member comprises a cylindrical surface and a plurality of teeth spaced about and extending from the cylindrical surface. The slide assembly comprises a body having a circumferential surface with a plurality of channels formed in said surface. Slide members are received in the channels to be movable between an extended position in which they can engage the teeth of the toothed member and a retracted position in which they do not engage the teeth of the toothed member. A resilient member biases the slide members to their extended positions. The slide assembly can be formed so that the slide members move either axially or radially relative to the slide assembly body.Type: GrantFiled: October 4, 2002Date of Patent: June 8, 2004Assignee: The Timken CompanyInventor: Xiaolan Ai
