  • Patent number: 11788620
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for a transmission. In one example, the transmission may include a brake system arranged in-line with a second brake along a longitudinal axis of the transmission. Each brake may have a plurality of separator plates which may be secured to a housing of the transmission by at least one pin. The brake system may further include an end plate positioned between the first brake and the second brake, the end plate secured to the housing by a plurality of dowel pins.

  • Patent number: 11486453
Abstract: An automatic transmission includes a clutch having a drum section, a hub, a friction plate, a piston that presses the friction plate, a hydraulic chamber to which hydraulic oil is supplied to urge the piston in a direction toward the friction plate, and a cancellation chamber to which hydraulic oil is supplied to cancel a centrifugal hydraulic pressure applied to the hydraulic oil in the hydraulic chamber, and the piston is interposed between the hydraulic chamber and the cancellation chamber. The drum section includes communication passages that extend in a radial direction and respectively communicate with the hydraulic chamber and the cancellation chamber. Of the communication passages, in the communication passage that communicates with the cancellation chamber, an adjustment member is provided at an end portion on a radially inner side, and can adjust an atmospheric air release position of the communication passage in the radial direction.

  • Patent number: 8041483
Abstract: Externally deployed airbag system for a vehicle including one or more inflatable airbags deployable outside of the vehicle, an anticipatory sensor system for assessing the probable severity of an impact involving the vehicle based on data obtained prior to the impact and initiating inflation of the airbag(s) in the event an impact above a threshold severity is assessed, and an inflator coupled to the anticipatory sensor system and the airbag for inflating the airbag when initiated by the anticipatory sensor system. The airbag may be housed in a module mounted along a side of the vehicle, in a side door of the vehicle (both for side impact protection), at a front of the vehicle (for frontal impact protection) or at a rear of the vehicle (for rear impact protection). Also, the externally deployed airbag can be deployed to cushion a pedestrian's impact against the vehicle.
