Patent number: 8720665Abstract: In a coin feeding machine 26 which uses a rotary disk 41 rotated at an inclined posture, a removal projection 59 for removing a smaller diameter coin is provided between a feeding projection 52 and a coin support portion 53 which are provided on a surface 41a of the rotary disk 41. The removal projection 59 is disposed to be positioned on the slightly outer side of the outer edge of a coin C when the coin C whose diameter is a lower limit value of a handling target range is brought into contact with the feeding projection 52 and the coin support portion 53. The side surface of the removal projection 59 is inclined relative to the surface of the rotary disk 41. When the coin is brought onto the inclined surface of this removal projection 59, the coin drops away from the surface 41a of the rotary disk 41. A coin C1 which is smaller than the lower limit value of the handling target range is brought onto the removal projection 59, so as to be dropped from the surface 41a of the rotary disk 41 and removed.Type: GrantFiled: December 28, 2010Date of Patent: May 13, 2014Assignee: Glory Ltd.Inventor: Masashi Itou

Patent number: 7669705Abstract: The present invention provides a coin recognition device comprising an integrated circuit, a coin receiving member, and a retractable trigger mechanism. The integrated circuit comprises a built-in recognition program and a plurality of pads as signal input ends thereof. The recognition program is configured for discriminating denomination of coins based on signals from the pads. The coin receiving member defines a coin slot for coins to be inserted. The retractable trigger mechanism is associated with the coin slot and is disposed on the coin receiving member. The trigger mechanism comprises a conductive contact part attached thereto. The contact part moves together with movement of the trigger mechanism in response to the insertion of coins. When the contact part moves to corresponding positions in relation to varying diameters of coins, the contact part at each specific position is electrically connected to one respective pad to stimulate a signal.Type: GrantFiled: September 4, 2008Date of Patent: March 2, 2010Assignee: Jin Jiang Zhanwang Electronic (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd.Inventor: Baoliu Yu

Patent number: 7494000Abstract: A snack dispenser comprises tiers stacked to resemble a wedding cake. Each tier includes a trough divided into transparent slots into which a snack may be placed. The troughs are mounted on a rotatable carousel having a transparent front shell with transparent locked doors therein. The doors are unlocked by a door control mechanism when coins of proper monetary value are inserted into a coin box. The coin box accepts and learns the value of different types of coins, or accepts personal identification numbers. Opening the door blocks the rotation of the carousel, blocks the opening of other doors, and resets the credit of the coins inserted. When closed, the door locks all doors until additional coins are inserted. Servicing the dispenser includes removal of the front shell, removal of empty tiers, and replacement of replenished tiers. All segments can be removed and collapsed into a flat position.Type: GrantFiled: June 26, 2007Date of Patent: February 24, 2009Assignee: Newco Enterprises Inc.Inventor: Billy J. Castleberry

Patent number: 5201396Abstract: An improved electronic coin mechanism and coin operated dispensing system includes an electronic coin mechanism which controls operation of a vending machine and stores certain types of data. The data in raw form are read out by a reader which may be interfaced to a computer through a shuttle. Due to the variety of information which may be collected, the computer is able to generate a variety of reports. The electronic coin mechanism is battery operated and designed for long service life. The mechanism includes an apertured rotatable coin wheel which detects the value of a coin by its diameter and compared the count with stored information in the coin electronics, the latter having an elapsed time relative counter. Time of first and last sale as well as sales per period are stored as well as total amounts received. Various levels of security are provided. Details of the coin mechanism and system are described.Type: GrantFiled: November 27, 1991Date of Patent: April 13, 1993Assignee: K-Jack Engineering Company, Inc.Inventors: Jack S. Patent number: 5076415Abstract: In a coin-operated device an inserted coin lodges in a tumbler member which is adjustable continuously or in discrete steps to cater for coins of a different denomination. Upon receipt of a valid coin, the tumbler member tilts to allow the coin to pass between the tumbler member and a pendulum member.Type: GrantFiled: April 9, 1990Date of Patent: December 31, 1991Assignee: Coinmechs LimitedInventor: John B. Patent number: 4741427Abstract: A coin acceptor which receives coins in a slanted coin chute with a final size gauge system. The coin is first rebounded against a tapered wall and enters a first zone. All three coin sizes enter the first zone and then the lightest weight one passes down a tapered ramp which is spring loaded, but the lightest weight coins will not depress the ramp and therefore such coins are diverted into a second zone. The heavier different sized coins pass down and trip the tapered ramps, both a first and second one, and then the widest of the coins continues downwardly in the first zone to be processed and sized for diameter. The largest diameter coin is trapped between two pins where it is then tilted off of a ramp onto a diverter and passes into a third zone for processing. As all of the coins reach the bottom of their three separate zones, they enter into a final size gauge system which has three coin chutes sized precisely to reject any coin which is bent, burred, or oversized.Type: GrantFiled: October 10, 1985Date of Patent: May 3, 1988Inventors: Nathan Choderker, Carl E. Patent number: 4706795Abstract: A coin discriminator for discriminating good coins from bad coins among a plurality of different types of coins and sorting the coins by denomination has a cradle for selecting the coins in accordance with their diameter, and a swing lever which is urged in a direction toward the space between the two ends of the cradle. The swing lever biases a small coin so as to cause it to pass the space between the two ends of the cradle. A large coin urges the swing lever and is removed from the cradle.Type: GrantFiled: December 16, 1985Date of Patent: November 17, 1987Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha NipponcoincoInventors: Mitsugu Mikami, Kougi Yukimoto, Jun Ishii

Patent number: 4576275Abstract: A coin discrimination member and a coin selection member are mounted on one of two plates defining a coin path. Counterfeit coins are removed from the coin path between the two plates at an upstream portion thereof in response to a discrimination signal from an electronic discrimination unit. Thereafter, the authentic coins are discriminated and sorted by the coin discrimination member and the coin selection member. One plate is detachably pivoted about the other plate.Type: GrantFiled: August 23, 1984Date of Patent: March 18, 1986Assignee: Kabushiki Kaisha NipponcoincoInventors: Osamu Kobayashi, Masanori Tanaka, Jun Ishii
