And Movable Check Diverter Patents (Class 194/346)
  • Patent number: 4620559
Abstract: A coin-sorting and counting machine having a stationary base and a cylindrical frame wall rotatably mounted on the base for selective rotation relative thereto. A rotatable disc with a queueing head spaced thereabove forms the coins into a queue at the perimeter of the disc whereat they are sorted by denomination, using coin depressing wheels. Counters count the coins according to denomination. The machine further includes a bag-holding receptacle for each denomination of coin being sorted to collect preselected numbers of the coins according to denomination, and holding for collecting and temporarily holding coins in excess of the preselected numbers according to denomination. The receptacles are held on a carrier plate and arranged concentrically about a pedestal supporting the frame wall. The holding tanks each have a manually operable slide gate to selectively transfer the collected excess coins therein to the coin bags.

  • Patent number: 4582189
Abstract: An improved coin validation apparatus for detecting and accepting or rejecting a coin in a limited vertical and horizontal space. The validator includes a first downwardly inclined coin path for guiding a rolling coin along a predetermined first pathway toward a coin box, and a second downwardly inclined short coin path beginning at a predetermined point along the first coin path and positioned below the first coin path for directing a rejected coin from the first coin path along a predetermined second pathway toward a coin return outlet. An electronic coin sensor is positioned to sense the presence of a valid coin travelling along the first coin path, and a coin-directing guide member or flipper is provided along the first coin path to guide a valid coin toward the coin box and to release a rejected coin to fall to the second coin path to the coin return outlet.

  • Patent number: 4579215
Abstract: The specification discloses a coin mechanism for dispensing machines including two or more rectangular chutes for receiving and containing a given number of coins. A rectangular gate selectively directs coins into the chutes and a rocker arm is operable to pivot the gate from a first position and hold it in a second position to direct coins into a second chute when the coins reach a predetermined height in a first chute. A pawl is adjustably mounted adjacent to the second chute and is operable to prevent upward movement of a predetermined number of coins deposited in the second chute. A catch plate is pivotally attached to the door of the dispensing machine and is located below the chutes to support the coins therein.

  • Patent number: 4573485
Abstract: Two embodiments of this invention are disclosed and each concerns a coin storage section of a coin runway which includes two separate coin runways which are diagonally orientated at an angle with respect to each other about the center of the longitudinal axis of each diagonal coin runway. The storage section of the coin runway is arranged to receive coins accepted in a sequence from a coin sorting or separation arrangement and to maintain them in that sequence while they are temporarily stored. In the first embodiment the coin separation arrangement includes a mechanical, moveable gate mechanism for orientating and guiding the coins of varying denominations into the diagonal coin runways of the coin store, whereas in the second embodiment the coin separation arrangement includes a purely fixed mechanical arrangement to achieve the desired coin orientating and guiding action for the coins to be guided to the diagonal coin runways of the coin storage section.
