Slot Closure Patents (Class 194/351)
  • Patent number: 11922752
Abstract: In an illegal-act detecting mechanism including an opening/closing member for detecting an illegal act and preventing pullout, at the time of stopping the opening/closing member at an initial rotation position, it is prevented that a stop position is deviated due to overrun by an inertial force of a motor. The illegal-act detecting mechanism includes an opening/closing member 50 that permits passage of a paper sheet at the initial rotation position, and blocks passage of the paper sheet at a non-initial rotation position deviated from the initial rotation position, a rotary member 70 that integrally rotates with the opening/closing member, a driving member 90 pivotally supported so as to be able to rotate relative to the opening/closing member, and a drive transmission mechanism 100.

  • Patent number: 9959696
Abstract: A dispenser which deters theft of packaged items includes an ejector. The ejector is resiliently biased to an extended position, and is selectively retracted to a retracted position. When so retracted, it can be released so that it can translate a static package into a dynamic state as quickly as possible to minimize the effect of drag and friction between the package being ejected and the package immediately behind it in a column of packages, as well as between the package and the portions of the housing which are initially contacted by the package. The first package is ejected in a short impulse so as to minimize a transfer of kinetic energy to a second package, thus minimizing the effect of static inertia of the second package on the first package.

Abstract: A safe unlocking machine includes a currency container that may be moved into and out of a container unit. The currency container includes a coin inlet, a bill inlet, and a lock-incorporated shutter that opens and closes a tag. When the shutter is operated to open, RFID wireless verification is performed between an antenna located in the container unit and the tag of the currency container. When predetermined conditions including accomplishment of the RFID verification are satisfied, rotation of a receiver handle is permitted. When the receiver handle is rotated once, a safe main body of a safe, which is located in the safe unlocking machine, is solely moved rearward. The currency in the safe main body falls down due to its own weight and is stored in the currency container.

  • Patent number: 7007789
Abstract: A plate for attachment to an interior side of the housing of a vending machine to overlie the bill validator. The plate including a mask portion protruding to an exterior of the housing for covering a mouth portion of the bill validator exposed to the public. The mask portion includes an entrance aligned with a bill slot in the mouth portion of the bill validator. A bill passageway defined by a first guide flange and a second guide flange is disposed between the bill slot and the entrance for directing bills into an out of the bill validator. The guide flanges terminate in the mouth portion of the bill validator so that bills may reliably pass from the entrance through the bill passageway into the bill slot, and from the bill slot outwardly through the bill passageway to the entrance during bill rejection.

  • Patent number: 6983635
Abstract: A coin press (10) includes a die (20) and an anvil (22) that abut and counter-rotate to nip and press a coin. The coin press (10) has a timing device (80) with a coin slot (84) and a gate (92) rotatable about a gate axis parallel to the width of the coin slot (84). The gate (92) rotates between a closed position to obstruct the coin slot (84) and an open position that allows the coin to pass gravitationally by the gate (92). A timing ring (130) rotates with one of the die (20) and the anvil (22) and has at least one lobe (132) that activates a trip lever (122) to rotate the gate (92) and gravitationally drop the coin between the anvil (22) and an image on the die (20). The die (20) and the anvil (22) are removably and replaceably mounted by sliding into a slot (46) and another slot (48) on a frame (40). First and second adjusters (62, 64) allow adjustment of pressure between the die (20) and the anvil (22).

Abstract: The present invention provides a coin dispensing apparatus for storing and dispensing coins through a dispensing slot that can be selectively controlled to prevent unauthorized access. A dispensing device dispenses coins through a coin passageway connected to a dispensing slot. A motor can activate the dispensing device to transport coins to the coin passageway which are in turn counted by a counting sensor unit. A control unit can provide signals for coordinating the operation of the motor and the activation of a shutting device for controlling access to the dispensing slot. A shutter can be spring biased and connected to a solenoid for automatically opening and closing the dispensing slot to prohibit intrusion of an exterior object into the coin passageway.

  • Patent number: 6732848
Abstract: A tamper-resistant device retrofits onto an existing parking meter or other coin accepting machine to increase the exterior security of the parking meter at the point where the coins are deposited into the parking meter. Accordingly, potential thieves and vandals would not have direct access to the internal components of the parking meter, thereby eliminating the possibility of intentionally stuffing and blocking the coin track by inserting objects other than coins into the coin track. The tamper-resistant device provides a deposit slot spaced apart from the original coin slot for depositing one coin at a time into the parking meter. By relocating the deposit slot, the tamper-resistant device prevents vandals from inserting hard objects directly into the parking meter, thereby damaging the internal components of the parking meter.

  • Patent number: 6382387
Abstract: A manual currency operated vending machine includes a mechanism for preventing customers from depositing a currency into the vending machine when the machine is out of product. The vending machine comprises two parallel vertical magazines for containing flat packages and tubular packages. A currency operated dispensing mechanism includes a currency operating knob connected to a blocking mechanism through a rotatable shaft. The blocking mechanism is positioned at the bottom of each magazine for supporting the articles and preventing them sliding out, and also for allowing the lowest article out of the magazine and into a trough at the vending opening slot. When the currency operating knob is turned, it allows a currency to be deposited into the vending machine. The knob turns the rotatably shaft which in turn moves the blocking mechanism into an unobstructed position allowing the lowest article out of the magazine and into the trough at the vending opening slot.
