  • Patent number: 7784601
Abstract: A conveyor using a roller belt with rollers arranged to rotate on oblique axes to urge articles toward a side guide. The conveyor includes an oblique-roller belt supported on a carryway for running in a direction of belt travel. Rollers extend above an outer conveying surface of the belt without contact with the carryway. Each roller rotates on an axis oblique to the direction of belt travel and intersects the side guide downstream of the roller's position. A retractable stop is movable to and from a blocking position along the carryway. In the blocking position, the stop blocks the conveyed articles from advancing in the direction of belt travel. The rollers underlying the blocked articles rotate as the belt runs by contact with the articles. The rotating rollers provide a component of force to the blocked articles directed toward the side guide to push the articles against the side guide or other articles as they accumulate under low pressure upstream of the stop.

  • Patent number: 6523674
Abstract: A transition between two sections of belt conveyors transfers a series of objects conveyed on the ending section of one conveyor through a pair of guide rails laterally over to a beginning section of the second conveyor. A source of vacuum is positioned between the ending section of the one conveyor and the beginning section of the second conveyor and holds the conveyed objects to the two conveyor surfaces as the objects are transferred between the two surfaces and thereby eliminates the problem of one or more conveyed objects falling over as they are transferred from the one conveyor surface to the second conveyor surface.

  • Patent number: 6334525
Abstract: An apparatus is provided for transferring containers from one moving conveyor to another. The conveyors may be aligned with a common direction of travel. One or more guide rails may be provided to guide conveyed items through a curved transfer section. The conveyors may be supported on a modular support unit. In a preferred embodiment of the invention, a transfer table is located between incoming and outgoing conveyor support structures.

  • Patent number: 6241074
Abstract: An apparatus for regulating and controlling the flow of articles between conveyors includes a first conveyor moving in a first direction and a second conveyor onto which the articles from the first conveyor are to be transferred. The second conveyor moves generally in the same direction and parallel to the first conveyor along a portion thereof defining a transfer point. A guide device defines an inlet on the first conveyor at the transfer point. The guide device is oriented so as to extend across and move articles from the first conveyor onto the second conveyor. The guide device defines the tortuous path that changes directions at least three times, for example, by three opposite radii of curvatures, such that the articles that are in direct end to end contact on the first conveyor are separated by the guide device.
