  • Patent number: 5112180
Abstract: A silo unloader having a framework and concentric oppositely driven rings with oppositely acting plows to shift particulate material in a silo to a central discharge defined by vertically spaced plates. The rings are driven by compressible rollers such as pneumatic tires, compressed between rings and powered by electric motors. Additional compressible friction rollers engage the wall of the silo in a vertical rolling action to guide vertical movement of the unloader and resist rotational movement of the framework which is suspended on cables.

  • Patent number: 4907932
Abstract: A movable continuous bulk material conveyer, especially for unloading ships. A steep-rise conveyor is provided that comprises a conveyor belt and a cover belt. The bulk material is thrown by two casting reels into the lower gap between the conveyor belt and the cover belt. Since during the meander-like removal of material from the hold of a ship, the position of the casting reels and the steep-rise conveyor relative to one another constantly changes, the shafts of the casting reels are pivotably connected via a quadrilateral articulation with the lower guide pulleys of the steep-rise conveyor, and are controlled by hydraulic pistons from a computer in such a way that the casting reels always pick up a constant stream of bulk material and throw this material in the direction of the angle bisector of the gap of the steep-rise conveyor.

  • Patent number: 4271660
Abstract: This is a combine conveyor apparatus having a combine auger conveyor apparatus of this invention mounted on a conventional combine structure. The combine auger conveyor apparatus includes a feeder auger conveyor assembly which transfers cut wheat or the like to a feeder slat conveyor assembly which, in turn, conveys the cut material into a threshing cylinder assembly. The feeder auger conveyor assembly is known in the prior art having spiral flights on a cylindrical support driven to move the material to the center thereof and having a central auger retractable finger assembly to move the material into the feeder slat conveyor assembly. The feeder slat conveyor assembly includes a first sprocket assembly connected by a feeder chain and slat assembly to a second sprocket assembly.

  • Patent number: 4231468
Abstract: A coal-gathering assembly for a continuous miner in which a platform is disposed behind a rotatable cutter, and a coal-transporting conveyor is located adjacent the platform for delivering coal rearwardly of the miner. The assembly includes a base plate rotatively mounted on the platform on each side of the coal-transporting conveyor. A plurality of bars are carried by each base plate, each bar extending across its associated base plate intermediate the rotative axis of the base plate and the base plate periphery. Each bar has one end adjacent the next angularly adjacent bar and has the other end extending beyond the base plate periphery. Each angularly adjacent pair of bars provide a substantially inwardly closed pocket. More particularly, each bar extends across the base place and is spaced from and intermediate the rotative axis and the base plate periphery, and extends substantially transverse to a radial line passed through the rotative axis and intermediate the ends of the bar.

  • Patent number: 4165803
Abstract: A gathering platform extends forwardly from the front end of a mixing machine and has an upper surface in which a pair of counter-rotating gathering discs are rotatably mounted. Each disc is rotated to move mined material centrally and rearwardly on the platform upper surface toward a material guide that extends rearwardly in overlying relation with a portion of each of the gathering discs to the receiving end of a longitudinally extending conveyor. A plurality of radially extending slots extend through each disc, and a material gathering arm is positioned in each slot. One end of each arm is connected to rotate with the gathering disc. The opposite end of the arm rides on a cam surface in the gathering platform. The cam surface has a first portion and a second portion. The second portion is positioned at an elevation below the first portion and beneath the material guide.

  • Patent number: 4159055
Abstract: An improved rotating disc-type gathering head suited for use with underground mining machines includes at least two gathering discs mounted for rotation on an inclined apron in positive engaging relationship at their point of tangency. One of the discs is rotatably driven, preferably by means mounted above the apron. The second disc is rotated in the opposite direction by the first disc to provide the desired flow of mined material. In the preferred embodiment the discs have peripherally disposed intermeshing gear teeth, and the drive means comprises a pinion gear in peripheral engagement with the first disc. Additional gathering discs can be added without complicating the simple mechanical drive system below the apron.

  • Patent number: 4011936
Abstract: A loading and conveying machine has crawler treads and a frame extending forwardly thereof. A conveyor extends from the front to the rear of the machine. An apron is pivotally mounted at the front of the frame and receives material from a loading implement and deposits it onto the conveyor. The front end of the conveyor is pivotally mounted to the apron and arcuately moves about the apron pivot axis when the apron is raised or lowered. The joined conveyor and apron may also be adjusted together by vertically moving the apron pivot axis. The midsection of the conveyor is articulated so that the conveyor framework is separated into front and rear segments which are independently movable relative to each other and to the machine frame.
