  • Patent number: 11608236
Abstract: A sweep auger system having a driveshaft with auger flighting and a backboard extending a length from an inward end to an outward end. An input of a gearbox is connected to an outward end of the drive shaft and a sweep wheel having a plurality of notches, arms and feet is connected to an output of the gearbox. A drive shield is placed around a rearward side of the sweep wheel that forms a channel that is configured to capture grain agitated by the sweep wheel. A guide plate is connected to the gearbox and covers a portion of the gearbox. The guide plate angles from an upper outward edge downward and forward to a lower inward edge that is configured to urge the grain captured within the channel of the drive shield to move in front of the sweep auger system reducing grain left in the grain bin.

  • Patent number: 8936145
Abstract: The invention relates to a material conveyor system (1) for a road paver and feeder. The material conveyor system (1) comprises a material hopper (2), which comprises a first and a second hopper half (3, 4), a main conveyor device (5), which defines a main conveyor flow and which runs between the first and the second hopper halves (3, 4), and conveying screws (6, 7), which define a transverse conveyor flow and which are arranged in the hopper halves (3, 4). The material conveyor system (1) is characterized in that the conveying screws (6, 7) can be operated independently of the main conveyor device. The independent operation of the conveying screws (6, 7) and the main conveyor device (5) makes it possible to achieve improved homogenization of the mixing temperature of the paving material.

  • Patent number: 8607966
Abstract: An apparatus and a method include a pipe comprising a first end, a second end and an interior wall. The pipe is configured for rotation about an axis with a rotational rate sufficient for a cohesive material to remain stationary in a layer on the interior wall. A plurality of blades is configured for deflecting the cohesive material. Each of the blades includes a blade edge having a curvature corresponding to a portion of the interior wall. A support structure supports the blade edges with each of the blade edges proximate the interior wall and having an angle with respect to a plane perpendicular to the axis. An inlet apparatus feeds the cohesive material into the first end where a difference in rotational rate between the interior wall and the plurality of blades, and the angle determines a rate of conveyance of the cohesive material along the interior wall.

  • Patent number: 8240461
Abstract: A bolt supply apparatus (1) recognizes images of bolts conveyed by a conveyor (22) using a camera (24) and feeds the recognized bolts to a next operation step using a robot (26). Bolts to be conveyed from a hopper (10) through a spiral feeder (14) are temporarily stored in a first storage box (16). Weight of the first storage box (16) is measured by a first weight measuring device (18). When the first weight measuring device (18) measures a given weight, the bolts of the first storage box (16) are supplied to the conveyor (22).

  • Patent number: 8201708
Abstract: A silo has more than one discharge passage, and each passage has the ability to increase or decrease its respective flow rates. The silo and each portion of the silo that feeds into each individual discharge passage can measure a feature of the solid being dispensed, such as its moisture content or its temperature. A computer controller is then used to take this feedback and adjust the rate of flow from each discharge passage so that the flows from each passage are kept the same despite the variation in moisture, temperature or any other characteristic of the flowing solid. A method to utilize this device is also taught.

  • Patent number: 7392895
Abstract: In a method and a device for discharging poorly pourable bulk materials from a receptacle, the material is first rendered free-flowing via a helically shaped agitating element (worm conveyer) and secondly discharged from the receptacle via a spiral shaped agitation element (spiral conveyer). Both elements are mechanically coupled at their respective lose ends. The respective other ends of the agitating elements are attached to a common shaft. The shaft connects to a gear drive at its upper end which provides for the rotational movement of the two agitating agents. The rotation of the worm conveyor transports the material situated between the turns of the worm conveyer upward to the bulk material surface. This breaks up the bulk material. Material that has been brought up by the worm conveyer flows downward again due to the gravitational force. Some of the material flows back along the outer space around the worm conveyer while the other portion moves down through the center of the worm conveyer.

  • Patent number: 6763932
Abstract: The particulate material handling system comprises a tube, an endless belt that passes through the tube and returns outside of the tube, and a flighting that is suspended a predetermined distance from the belt through the entire length of the tube. The distance may be varied for the various materials being handled. An intake hopper is mounted at one end of the tube for receiving the material to be moved and a discharge spout is mounted at the other end of the tube for discharging the material from the tube. The endless belt and flighting are driven such that their speed may be varied and such that their relative speeds are synchronized to drive the material at substantially the same speed whether it is being carried by the belt or the flighting. The combination of the belt and the flighting drives the material through the tube, minimizing damage to the material, which may be granular fertilizer, pulse crops, grains or other particulate material.

  • Publication number: 20020014391
Abstract: A restorable sand or pellet pile is provided for use as an amusement device. A sand or pellet collection chamber has inclined side walls that converge toward each other in a downward direction and having a bottom surface connected to the side walls to form a collection chamber. A support deck is mounted on top of the side walls of the collection chamber and is adapted to support sand on its upper surface. A safety grating is formed around the perimeter of the support deck to allow sand or pellets to flow downwardly therethrough into the collection chamber as children play on the pile. A diaphragm pump is positioned in the collection chamber and pumps sand upwardly through a vertically extending conduit to restore the pile. The pump may be operated intermittently or continuously. Other pumping mechanisms may be used.
