Abstract: The present invention is directed to a method of making at least a portion of a garment that includes at least one three-dimensional contour. The disclosed method includes providing a fiber and solvent mixture that includes fibers and a solvent capable to causing a plurality of covalent bonds to be created between the fibers. In many embodiments, the plurality of covalent bonds form when a catalyst, such as heat, is provided to the fiber and solvent mixture. The process can be performed using, for example, either a 3D printer or mold form. The fibers used can be natural, synthetic, or a blend of natural and/or synthetic fibers. The solvent preferably includes ionic salts in water.

Abstract: The sleep sack can include a back panel, a front panel, and a flap. The sleep sack is used by placing the front panel over the back panel. The front panel extends from the shoulder to under the arm of the infant or toddler. The sleep sack is used by placing the flap over the front panel once placed. The flap extends from the shoulder to under the arm of the infant or toddler. The flap can be releasably attached to an outer surface of the sleep sack to adjust the compression of the torso of the infant or toddler.

Abstract: Embodiments of the disclosure include a medical garment that resembles a shirt. The medical garment includes a body that includes a front portion attached to a back portion by one or more non-partable seams. The medical garment includes first and second sleeves on opposite sides of the medical garment. The first and second sleeves are coupled to the front portion and the back portion of the medical garment. The medical garment includes a partable seam having a zippered opening formed in the medical garment that extends from a collar area of the medical garment toward a bottom part of one of the sleeves where the sleeve attaches to the body. The partable seam also includes a zipper to close the zippered opening and hold the zippered opening in a closed position. The medical garment is configured to expose the patient's chest area when the zippered opening is in an open position, and resembles a standard shirt when the zippered opening is in the closed position.

Abstract: A swaddling device is described. The swaddling device is Y-shaped pod shaped and configured to substantially enclose a baby. The device includes sleeves having at their ends foldover mitten cuffs or similar selectively openable fasteners. The cuffs allow a caregiver to expose the hand or hands of the baby so as to provide skin-to-skin contact. Alternatively, the caregiver can close the cuffs if scratching is a concern. The device is shaped to provide support and snugness for the baby in its mid-section, while also providing sufficient space for hips and knees to flex. The design of the Swaddle Sack with swaddle snugness provides support and partial suppression of the Moro Reflex without arm restraints and allowing sufficient range of motion for baby's upper section which will reduce risk of suffocation for baby in the event that baby rolls over to prone position, because baby will be able to use his or her arms to reposition his or her head to get access to air.

The articles may be devoid of any bonds between the outer fabric layer and the laminate.

Abstract: An article may include first and second components comprising non-woven textiles and a third component positioned between the first two components. A first surface of the third component that is adjacent the first component comprises a thermoplastic polymer material, and the third component is fused with a first region of the first component and unfused with a second region of the first component. A method of manufacturing the article, which may be an article of wear, includes arranging the components to form a stacked configuration so that the third component is positioned between the first and second components. Heat and compression may be applied to at least a first region of the first component to fuse the first region with the third component, whereas a second region of the first component may remain unfused to the second component.

Abstract: A surgical gown folded in a unique pattern that provides for a smaller sized gown that can be packaged in a smaller sized outer wrap as well as provide for an easily donnable gown that maintains its sterility. The fold pattern provides for the interior surfaces of the gown to be visible, and preferably, a portion of the interior surfaces, while maintaining sterility of the exterior surfaces by keeping them inside of the gown. A method of folding the gown in this new pattern is provided herein as well as a method of donning the folded gown.

Medical garments described herein may be used with any of a variety of medical devices which include or comprise one more conduits used for medical treatment or diagnosis, including conduits which comprise catheters as well as electrical conduits such as electrical leads.

Abstract: A personal protective equipment (PPE) rear opening isolation gown is provided that can be used by workers in the healthcare industry. The isolation gown is reusable and can provide for ease of doffing, such as in a pull forward manner that is consistent with how current users of disposable isolation gowns are accustomed to removing such gowns, without substantial risk of damaging (e.g., tearing) the gown and without substantial risk of the transfer of potentially harmful microorganisms, body fluids, and/or particulate material, to the neck or hair on the head or neck of a wearer. The reusable, rear opening isolation gown is provided with an easy release fastener(s) that provides a safe and secure hold when fastened but permits the gown to be removed easily, quickly, and more safely than other reusable options.

Abstract: A method of donning a magnetically-fastened upper garment is disclosed. The method and garment are configured for being carried out and worn, respectively, by a post-operative physically challenged individual using one arm only. The upper garment is configured for easy donning and removal without requiring another person's assistance, thus promoting independence of the individual. The upper garment has a front which is vertically separated from the rear at one side of the garment. A plurality of front and rear magnets are embedded in corresponding locations in the free edges along the vertical separation to effect closure of the garment and retention of the garment on the user.

The interface apparatus accepts operation by the user, outputs a signal corresponding to the accepted operation, and is detachably attached to wearing clothing configured to be worn by the user. The user may use releasable fasteners affixed above fixed connection points along each opposite side of the front and rear panels to adjust the size of the sleeve openings. Releasable fasteners are provided below the fixed connection points to allow the user to open or close the side edges of the front and rear panels below the fixed connection points. A plurality of releasable fasteners is provided along the bottom edges of the front and rear panels to allow the user to selectively adjust the fit about the user's torso.

Abstract: The premature infant clothing is a therapeutic garment. The premature infant clothing is configured for use with a patient. The patient is a low birthweight infant receiving medical therapy. The therapy further comprises medical tubing. The premature infant clothing comprises a plurality of panels and a plurality of detachable fasteners. The plurality of panels are interconnected using the plurality of detachable fasteners to form a plurality of garments. Each of the plurality of panels is a textile. The plurality of detachable fasteners removably attach one or more panels selected from the plurality of panels to form a garment selected from the plurality of garments. The plurality of detachable fasteners are adjustable such that any detachable fastener selected from the plurality of detachable fasteners can be reconfigured to accommodate the insertion of the medical tubing through the selected detachable fastener.

Abstract: A disposable surgical gown is provided. The gown includes a front panel and sleeves formed from a first spunbond layer, a nonwoven (e.g., SMS) laminate, and a liquid impervious, moisture vapor breathable elastic film disposed therebetween. The gown also includes a first and second rear panels formed from a nonwoven laminate that is air breathable and allows for an air volumetric flow rate ranging from about 20 standard cubic feet per minute (scfm) to about 80 scfm. The gown further includes a collar formed from an air breathable knit material positioned adjacent a proximal end of the gown. The collar defines a neck opening having a v-neck shape adjacent the front panel. The v-neck shape forms an angle of greater than 90° at the neck opening. The combination of features results in a reduced-glare gown that is stretchable and impervious to liquids, yet can still dissipate heat and humidity.

Abstract: A pair of pants made of a stretchable elastic form fitting material. The pants include a waist band, a first leg sleeve and a second leg sleeves. The first and second leg sleeves extend downward from the waist band. The present invention further includes a strap. The strap may include a first end and a second end each attached to an outer surface of the first leg sleeve below a knee portion. A loop is formed in between the strap and the first leg sleeve. A user may grasp the strap to help with stretching.

One embodiment prevents redistribution hypothermia with a distributor (206) attached to the inside of the leg portion (112). The sleeves (108), leg portion (112), and posterior of the gown (100) are heat reflective. The anterior of the thorax portion (110) of the gown is non-reflective. The distributor (206) inflates when heated air is supplied and exhausts air into the gown (100). Temperature is maintained at a desired level for the extremities, while preventing the thorax area from being elevated to an uncomfortable level. Another embodiment is a perioperative warming device. The device is a gown (1500) that has a thorax portion (1502) and a leg portion (1504). Each portion has an independent air chamber and inlet. The two portions are releasably connected. The sleeves (1508), leg portion (1504), and anterior of the gown (1500) are heat reflective.

Abstract: A gown is provided for medical and other uses which allows the person wearing the gown or an assistant to quickly and easily tie the straps to close the open gap in the back of the gown. The gown includes an elongated first strap having a first end fixed to a back edge of the gown, and then extending upwardly over the shoulder, with a free end hanging in front of the gown. The elongated strap is releasably and temporarily secured near the shoulder of the gown. The person wearing the gown or the assistant can grasp the loose end of the strap and pull, so as to release the strap from the attachment mechanism, and then pull the strap upwardly to pass around the back of the person's neck and downwardly along the opposite side, and then tying to a second strap at a location in front of their body. The straps eliminate the need to reach behind the person's back to tie the gown.

Abstract: A medical gown (10) includes a front side (11) joined to a back side (12) along a top seam (23) having a front side (24) and a back side (25) which are releasably joined together. The top seam front side includes an elongated strip of very small hook type fasteners (28). The top seam back side includes a pair of outer high strength loop type fasteners (31) (high bonding strength) spaced apart to allow the exposure of the exterior surface (20) of the gown back side which forms small loops that are considered an area of low strength loop type fasteners (34) (low bonding strength). The mating of the high strength loop type fasteners with the hook type fasteners provides a higher degree of separation resistance compared to that between the low strength loop type fasteners and the hook type fasteners.

Abstract: An upper body garment has a first access seam spanning a first sleeve of the garment on an underside from a cuff to an arm pit and spanning a body of the garment from the arm pit to a lower hem. The first access seam can be secured by magnets or other fasteners located intermittently along the sleeve and body which are easily opened for access to treatment areas. Furthermore, when the magnets are opened, the first access seam opens completely on one side of a patient body to peel away over IV needles and other connections for removal using a neck opening and a second sleeve. When the garment (or a new garment) is put back on by the patient through the neck and second sleeve, the first sleeve can be re-secured over connections to the body by rejoining opposing magnets.

Abstract: A mechanism is provided for interactively indicating information associated with a patient on a hospital garment. A set of questions is identified utilizing a set of information received from a plurality of sources within a medical facility. The set of information is analyzed for a set of key elements. The set of key elements is utilized to identify one or more questions from a search question database. The one or more questions are submitted to a request processing pipeline implemented by a healthcare cognitive system. Responsive to receiving a response from the request processing pipeline, one or more communications are identified to be sent to one or more hospital garments associated with the patient and/or medical staff. The one or more communications are sent to the one or more hospital garments to cause the one or more hospital garments to change a visual cue.

Abstract: A jacket (1) having a hood (4.1 and 4.2) which has a hood opening and having a zipper which begins at the lower end of the jacket front side (1.1 and 1.2) and which has two opposing strips (rows) (3.1 and 3.2) of zipper coupling members, which begin at the lower end in the two sections (I; II) along the coupling member rows (3.1 and 3.2) centrally in its longitudinal direction, and in that the strips (rows) (3.1 and 3.2) of zipper coupling members extend continuously and centrally over the entire jacket front side and jacket rear side along the edges of the hood (4.1; 4.2) bordering the hood opening up to the jacket rear side (2.1 and 2.2) and end at the lower end of the jacket rear side, and in that the strips (rows) (3.1; 3.2) are associated with another zipper slider (5).
