A releasable wrist and/or forearm engagement 72 for encircling the wrist covering 18 and/or the forearm covering 20, and for releasably securing the wrist covering 18 and/or the forearm covering 20 to a user's wrist region and/or lower forearm, is also provided, along with a secondary fastening device 61 at or adjacent to the free proximal end 54 of the forearm covering 20 for holding sides of the primary fastening device in close proximity to each other whilst the primary fastening device is in an unfastened state, so that a user can more easily operate the primary fastening device 52 with one hand.

Abstract: A mitten hand covering which can be reconfigured from a closed end condition covering the fingers and thumb to a condition where the fingers and thumb may be protruded through openings to be exposed for improved dexterity. The hand covering is made from a sheet of material folded up and sewn along perimeter edges of an auxiliary section and subsection of a main section of a pattern formed by the sheet.

Abstract: The reusable abbreviated mitten system provides a rubberized mitten having an abbreviated mitten length such that the mitten reaches only to the base of the thumb of a user, a finger portion, a hand reinforcement cuff, a symmetrical thumb portion, an obround case having an open top, a closed bottom, and an inverted L clip disposed on one side of the case. The mitten provides for quick donning and doffing while saving considerably on materials and production costs to not only provide easy, quick, reusable use, but also to contribute to environmentalism and natural resource savings. The mitten is formed of elastic rubber and alternately non-elastic rubber.

Abstract: In various embodiments, a glove enables one wearing the glove temporary unsheathed use of one or more of a thumb and an index finger of a hand of the wearer on which the glove is worn. A slide fastener may run along the glove between a distal portion of the glove's index finger-covering portion and a distal portion of the glove's thumb-covering portion. The slide fastener, when opened over a particular amount, provides an opening in the glove to enable the wearer to extend one or more of the wearer's thumb and index finger outside the glove for temporary unsheathed use of the thumb and/or index finger. When the slide is fastener closed, this causes the glove to cover the thumb and index finger.

Abstract: Screen covers, devices, systems and methods of using the covers. The screen cover can have dome shaped front configuration and capital A rear side configuration that can be formed from a pliable material having a waterproof coated surface. The screen cover can have a closed front side, closed top, closed sides and an elastic band across the back having openings above and below the band. The screen cover can be disposable or reusable. Methods of using and removing the screen cover include removing the cover without contaminating the other hand that removes the cover.

Abstract: A defensive or offensive weapon in the form of a mitten. The mantle of the mitten is either rigid or somewhat pliant. The interior of the mitten has located therein a cross bar to be grasped by a user to maintain the mitten on the arm of a user. The outer surface of the glove weapon has located thereon a plurality of outwardly directed spikes having pointed ends. The other end of the spikes has a screw threaded end which is screwed through the mantle of the mitten. The outer surface of the glove weapon has a plurality of dimples thereon, whereby each of the dimples has the screw end of the spike passing there through resulting in stabilizing each of the spikes in an outward direction.

Abstract: Disclosed is an infant hand covering having an enclosed distal end for accepting a child's hand and fingers, along with an elongated forearm portion extending from the mitten distal end along the child's arm before terminating at a closure means that secures the open end of the forearm portion against the child's forearm or upper arm. The enclosed mitten portion provides a barrier that protects the infant from scratching or poking itself, while the elongated forearm portion provides a means to secure the mitten to the infant's hand without becoming easily dislodged with movement. The closure means places a small amount of compression on the infant's arm to secure the forearm termination in place, while its elongated structure allows freedom of motion without ready movement of its terminal end.

Abstract: An absorbant glove having an agitating feature. The glove is formed from a base material which exhibits a high degree of absorbancy. In order to achieve this high degree of absorbancy, the base material preferably exhibits a very large surface area, such as a synthetic lamb's wool. The glove additionally has one or more areas of a rough, bristled material which is efficient at transmitting mechanical forces from movement of the user's hand to the stain. The bristled material is preferably a synthetic fabric, such as that commonly used for indoor/outdoor carpeting. In certain embodiments, one band of bristled material is formed at an angle to a second band of bristled material, wherein the angle is substantially between 20 degrees and 60 degrees. In other embodiments, the angle is substantially between 30 degrees and 45 degrees.

Abstract: Screen covers, devices, systems and methods of using the covers. The screen cover can have dome shaped front configuration and capital A rear side configuration that can be formed from a pliable material having a waterproof coated surface. Abstract: A sanding glove or mitten comprises a hand shaped portion with a mouth at a base thereof to allow for the insertion of a hand of a user. A pocket is connected to the hand shaped portion and there is a rigid insert which is removeably received by the pocket. A fastener pad is disposed on the pocket for releasably fastening an abrasive sanding pad to the sanding glove or mitten. The abrasive sanding pad defines a rigid sanding surface when the rigid insert is received in the pocket and the abrasive sanding pad defines a flexible sanding surface when the rigid insert is removed from the pocket.

Abstract: A mitten is constructed of two fabric sleeves sewn together about the perimeter of respective outer ends, one sleeve drawn into the other to be coextensive and nested together, with a thumb hole on one side of the sleeves adjacent a respective outer end. Insertion of a wearer's hand into an inner sleeve allows the fingers of the wearer to protrude through an opening defined by the perimeter of the sleeve ends and the thumb to protrude out through the thumb opening. When the wearer inserts a hand between the outer and inner sleeves, the fingers and thumb are covered. The sleeves are constructed of fabric panels sewn together, and may be of contrasting color and/or textures, allowing different appearances to be created by reversing the mitten.

Abstract: A disposable sanitary mitt for use to grip a support structure on public transportation vehicles to prevent the spread of germs, having a pair of complimentary planar, plastic sheets which are sealed together along a portion of the periphery and unsealed along the remaining periphery, to define an opening having a thumb receiving portion and a separate finger receiving portion. The opening is accessible by the unsealed portion of the periphery to allow a wearer to insert a hand in the opening, with the wearer's thumb in the thumb receiving portion and the wearer's fingers in the finger receiving portion and grip the support structure on the public transportation vehicle with the sanitary mitt covering the wear's hand to maintain balance while the sanitary mitt resists the spread of germs.

Abstract: The present invention provides reusable hygienic protective covers for insulating the hands of the user from harmful germs, bacteria, skin-borne infections, and other contaminants that are normally encountered in everyday activities. Included is storage means for insertion and retraction of the covers without user contact with the covers.

Abstract: Systems, methods and apparatus are provided for a disposable fabric hand cover. The disposable fabric hand cover includes a first layer, a second layer, an opening and a sealed perimeter. The opening is adapted to accommodate insertion of a user's hand into the opening and into a cavity between, and formed by, the first layer and the second layer. The first layer, the second layer, or both may comprise a disposable fabric moistened with a cleaning solution and/or skin moisturizer. The disposable fabric may include a flushable fabric that is safe for disposal in a toilet emptying into conventional septic systems and/or sewage treatment facilities. Embodiments of the disposable fabric hand cover may resemble a rectangle, a thumbed-mitten, and/or a five-fingered glove. Numerous other aspects are provided.

The removable layer or pad is intended to provide treatment and is designed to ensure thermal and mechanical protection of the part of the hand coming in contact with saidwall. The one wall is connected to the other of two opposing walls by seams. Delimiting pockets are provided for receiving the hand and the thumb. The one wall includes layers giving it the shape of a semi-flexible wafer, while the other wall is made of an elastic textile shaped with an inflating agent to form the pockets.

Abstract: An athletic glove capable of receiving a human hand is provided. The glove comprises an exterior glove shell and an interior glove liner connected together to form index, middle, ring, and pinky finger sheaths and a thumb sheath. A glove webbing is connected to and extends between the thumb sheath and the index finger sheath. At least one middle layer is located between the exterior shell and the interior liner. At least one thermally moldable shaping insert is embedded in a finger or thumb sheath between the exterior glove shell and the interior glove liner. When heated beyond a threshold temperature, the embedded insert becomes temporarily pliable such that the insert can be molded while the threshold temperature is exceeded and retains the molded shape after the insert cools below the threshold temperature, the molded insert providing the glove a desired shape.

Abstract: An athletic glove capable of receiving a human hand is provided. The glove comprises an exterior glove shell having a palm side portion and a back portion and an interior glove liner connected together to form index, middle, ring, and pinky finger sheaths and a thumb sheath. A glove webbing is connected to and extends between the thumb sheath and the index finger sheath. A middle layer is located between the exterior shell and the interior liner. One or more low-elasticity strengthening inserts are affixed to the palm-side portion of the exterior glove shell. The inserts maintain the integrity of the exterior glove shell after repeated use of the glove by limiting the amount the exterior glove shell stretches.

Abstract: A hand covering that may be in the form of a glove includes at least one finger receptacle having a sheath wall with an external surface and an internal surface, an outer strand having a metallic component and an inner strand. The outer strand includes a portion that extends into the sheath wall of the receptacle such that the portion of the outer strand does not cross the interior surface of the sheath wall of the receptacle. The outer strand and the inner strand are associated with one another such that, when a finger of a user is accommodated in the at least one receptacle, an electrical conductivity path exists that includes the finger of the user, the inner strand, and the outer strand.

Abstract: Handwear for the human hand is provided in which a convertible mitten has a shell with a palm section, an index finger enclosure, and a thumb enclosure adjacent the index finger enclosure that extend from the palm section, and a finger section extending from the palm section, the finger section sized and shaped to receive at least the middle finger, ring finger, and little finger of the human hand, the finger section comprising a closable flap that is operable to open and expose an opening in the finger section.

Abstract: A pair of mittens is disclosed that is adapted to be worn by a child to protect at least the child's hands and wrists from adverse winter conditions. Each mitten of the pair includes a hand-receiving mitten portion for covering the child's hand, and an elastically extendable cuff fastened to an aft end of the mitten portion. The elastically extendable cuff has a circumferentially uninterrupted tubular body and an elastic band disposed at an aft end of the cuff. The elastic band circumscribes an opening at the aft end through which the child's hand is received. The elastically extendable cuff is at least longitudinally seamless such that the elastically extendable cuff is both longitudinally and circumferentially stretchable from an un-stretched configuration to a stretched configuration.

Abstract: A glove-doll entertainment system is presented. The glove-doll system allows for playing with the doll separate from the glove, playing with the doll attached to the glove, or using the glove as a hand covering without the doll. The appendages of the doll directly and removeably attach to exterior surfaces of the glove's finger receiving cavities. Each of the attached appendages can be separately articulated by finger movement. The doll is three dimensional and is physically distinct from the glove. Contemplated dolls can include an electronic circuit that generates a sound when an appendage is moved. A sequence of sounds can be generated by movement of a plurality of appendages to generate a song or a story. Contemplated gloves are sufficiently thick and waterproof to replace a regular pair of winter gloves.

A proximal portion of the glove formed as an extension of the distal portion has a length between 150 percent and 175 percent of the length of the distal portion. A polyethylene tab and a strap form a seal on the proximal portion of the glove. The tab is integrally formed with the glove. The strap is fabricated of elastic bandage material and has an attached end coupled to the tab with a semi-adhesive property for removably coupling the strap to itself.

Abstract: A hand covering configured to enclose a human hand, fingers and thumb, having a dorsal side and a palm side. The hand covering includes a wrist portion and a hand portion. The hand portion includes at least one digit receptacle and a thumb receptacle. An opening is formed in the dorsal side of the hand covering, and extends from a location rearward of the thumb receptacle, across the dorsal side, to a side of the hand covering opposite the thumb receptacle. The opening is configured to allow the digit receptacle and the thumb receptacle to be removed from the digits and thumb of the wearer, while the wrist portion remains attached to the wearer and covers a dorsal side of the wearer's hand.

The waste handling and bagging unit (10) allows a person to quickly, easily and hygienically grasp waste material, such as fecal matter from a pet, and then to enclose the waste material within one of the bags (70) for disposal. When a single bag (70) is utilized, a person will manually place a new bag on the mitt (12) for each instance of waste removal. The nested bags (70) allow a person to repeatably gasp and dispose multiple instances of waste material without having to manually put a new replacement bag (70) on the mitt (12).

Abstract: A hand restraint device consisting of a pair of hand restraint mitts which are used for restraining the hands of an individual to prevent them from using their hands in undesired ways. The mitts can be used in conjunction with handcuffs. The mitts can be placed on the individual either before or after the handcuffs are secured to the individual. The mitts are designed to open up on the bottom and one side of the mitt which allows quick and easy placement on the hand of the individual. A cable tie or strap which has been placed through two pockets, one on each side, close to the bottom of the mitt can be quickly and easily pulled to secure the hand within the mitt. Under tension from the tie or strap, the mitt completely encases the hand up to the wrist which prevents the use of the hand or fingers in undesired ways. When the cable tie or strap is pulled to secure the hand, the hand chamber, which the hand is in, bows out under the tension of the strap to create an open pocket for the hand to float inside.

Abstract: The present invention is a shared hand mitten-type garment with a first mitten section to accommodate a first user's hand, with a first interior pocket and wrist sleeve portion with an aperture at an end of the wrist sleeve portion to allow the first user's hand to be inserted into the first mitten section and wrist sleeve portion. The mitt is made of a waterproof material such as neoprene. The mitt has a single flap that has a hook and loop material such as velcro incorporated into the single flap. The palm side of the mitt has an opposite “hook and loop” material that holds the single flap in a fastened position. When the gripping mitt with single flap is in use, the single flap of the mitt surrounds a paddle handle and holds the paddle so that the user can make paddle strokes. The hook and loop material on the palm of the mitt and the hook and loop material on the single flap provide the gripping force that keeps the hand attached to the paddle. The gripping mitt with flap has additional innovative features.

Abstract: The present invention is a knitted cloth mitten for the hand(s) preferably comprised of nylon, polyester and Lycra that is closed on one end and open on the opposite end. The open end has a knitted collar around the mitten with a small cut or opening to allow for insertion of a releasable cable tie. A piece of plastic is adhered to the palm portion of the mitten, from the fingertips to the middle of the palm, to make the palm area rigid. A releasable cable tie is threaded through the collar and around the open part of the mitten. After an individual's hands are restrained using properly placed and properly secured handcuffs, the present invention will be slid over an individual's hands with the rigid (plastic) side of the mitten to the palm side of the hand. The mitten will be extended to stop just below the handcuffs. The releasable cable tie is then pulled taught around the wearer's wrist, so as to not allow removal by the wearer.

Abstract: A hand covering comprises a shell and a hood. The hood of the hand covering is selectively disposable in multiple configurations. In one configuration, the hood can be disposed so that it covers part of the finger portion. In another configuration, the hood can be disposed so that it does not cover the finger portion and the entire finger portion is exposed. In one embodiment, the hand covering includes a movement mechanism that can be manipulated to move the hood relative to the shell.

Abstract: A barrier device is adapted to be worn by a user and provide isolation between the user and an object that is to be contacted by the user. The barrier device comprises a first pocket having a first top surface and a first bottom surface and an opening providing access to a cavity between the first top and bottom surfaces. The barrier device also includes a second pocket having a second top surface and a second bottom surface and an opening providing access to a cavity between the second top and bottom surfaces. A panel interconnects the first bottom surface and the second top surface to connect the first and second pockets, the panel having an adjustable length such that when a user wears the barrier device with one or more fingers in the first pocket and thumb in the second pocket, the panel provides a barrier for the user's palm that is adjustable to accommodate different hand sizes of different users. Furthermore, the barrier device is adapted to be wearable on either the right or left hand of a user.

Abstract: A disposable sanitary hand cover includes a hand covering and a separable outer layer. At least a portion of the outer layer is suitable for impregnation with a sanitary or medical preparation. The outer layer of the hand cover is used first to cleanse an appropriate surface, for example a lavatory seat or similar. The outer layer can then be detached and disposed of to leave the hand covering that can be used to wash and/or dry appropriate areas of the body. The hand covering can then also be disposed of. Abstract: A disposable cleaning mitten for wearing over the hand when performing hygienic care. The mitten can be used to cleanse, bathe and refresh the skin of a disabled individual, baby, elderly person or oneself, and includes a finger portion to house the fingers and a separate thumb portion for the thumb. Both the exterior and the interior surfaces are intended for use as a cleaning surface.
