Abstract: A pouch apparatus has a pouch body formed at its opposite ends with opposite widthwise slits and incorporates a weighted material, such that when selectively removably installed on a cap as by passing its one or more straps through the pouch slits and then securing such strap(s), the cap can be comfortably worn with the pouch apparatus so installed, providing benefits including discouraging the cap from being blown off, and further the cap with weighted pouch apparatus can be quickly removed and wielded as a self-defense weapon when needed.

Abstract: Headbands configured to provide pressure against a medical sensor secured to a patient's forehead are provided. The headbands may include one or more low friction materials to enable an elastic band of a tensioning mechanism to evenly stretch. Additionally or alternatively, the headbands may include two or more bands adapted to secure the headband to various portions of a patient's head. Still further, the headbands may be configured to independently vary the pressure created between two or more sensors and the patient's head.

Abstract: Headwear apparel comprising a draw cord and a locking means. The draw cord slides through a channel that defines an opening in the bottom portion of the apparel. The draw cord may be positioned by the user to cinch the channel to adjust tension of the opening to conform to the user's head. The locking means engages the draw cord to hold the position of the draw cord relative to the channel and thus retain the desired tension of the channel around the user's head. The headwear may comprise water-repellant material to repel water from the user's head for use in inclement weather or in personal bathing. In some embodiments, an inner liner material may be included for added comfort of the user. In some embodiments, a stylized hat structure may be added to the top of the headwear.

Abstract: A convertible winter garment converts from a cap or hat configuration to a neck gaiter, face cover, or hand warmer. The garment is a four-edged fabric with two layers such that opposing side edges of the fabric provide openings for insertion of the user's hands between the layers when the garment is used as a hand warmer. A transparent window through one layer of the garment permits observation of a mobile device held between the layers. Clips mounted along the edge opposing the longest edge can be attached to edges of the bill of a baseball cap worn by the user and anchor the garment to the baseball cap. In one embodiment, a bill having view openings is attached to the garment such that it can be used to shield the user's face from either overhead or below.

Abstract: A hair-gathering hat construction comprises a hair-gathering aperture, which hat construction essentially comprises a crown portion, a brim portion, and hat cinching structure for cinching the crown and brim portions against the head of a user for effecting a proper fit. The crown portion defines a head-receiving opening and comprises inferior and posterior crown sections. The inferior crown section is peripherally discontinuous at the posterior crown section for defining an upper hair-receiving notch. The brim portion defines certain head-receiving structure and comprises a superior brim section, a posterior brim section, and brim flaps. The superior brim section extends from the inferior crown section at a crown-to-brim junction. The superior and posterior brim sections define a lower hair-receiving notch. The upper and lower notches together define a hair gathering aperture. The brim flaps form annular head-receiving structure when juxtaposed one another.

Abstract: A helmet with large vent openings includes a vent shield to prevent the penetration of foreign objects and a vent airflow regulator positioned over the vent shield so as to regulate the amount of airflow allowed within the interior of the helmet. The vent shield is attached to the foam liner during the in-mold process, while the vent airflow regulator is positioned behind the vent shield after the in-mold process in a post-applied manner. A foam insert is positioned behind the vent airflow regulator and also has vent openings.

Abstract: A hair and scalp covering shield in the form of a flexible bag 10 is shaped to firmly cover the hair and scalp of a person intended for exposure to a hair louse treatment routine. The inlet 14 to the bag 10 in fitted with an elastic band 16. The bag 12 is fitted with an aperture in the form of a hole 24 incorporating a non-return closure type facility 18 to enable the charging of agent to a treatment zone 26 formed within the bag 12 once in use. Treatment of hair lice is effected by starving the treatment zone 26 of oxygen in response to introducing oxygen deficient agent into the zone 26 once the bulk of air has been removed.

Abstract: A heat-dissipation device adopted for a safety helmet which includes a heat-transfer unit that functions as a heat pipe, a heat-dissipation unit connecting to the heat-transfer unit, a vent formed in a front of the heat-dissipation unit that can be closed and opened alternatively by a shutter unit in order to adjust the capacity of heat-dissipation thereof, and a covering unit made of insulative materials and spreading over the heat-dissipation unit. Whereby the heat-transfer unit provides a kind of two-phase flow that is capable of conducting heat rapidly, so as to remove heat gathered in the helmet and improve the comfort level for the wearer.

Abstract: A hair protection bag with a first opening and a method for using the same are provided. The hair protection bag may have an open perimeter, a band around the open perimeter and a first opening associated with the bag. The band may be detachably connected to the open perimeter using an adhesive. The first opening may have a fastening system associated therewith to fasten, un-fasten and/or re-fasten the bag. The hair protection bag may further have a second opening associated with the bag. The second opening may have a fastening system associated therewith to fasten, un-fasten and/or re-fasten the bag. A cotton band may be attached to the open perimeter of the bag to prevent treatment solution from leaking from the bag. The first opening associated with the bag may be, for example, a zipper or hook and loop fasteners. The second opening associated with the bag may be, for example, a zipper or hook and loop fasteners.

Abstract: A self-adhesive garment closure for a garment includes a pair of opposed cooperating fastener elements, each having an exposed layer of self-adhesive material exhibiting strong adhesion to itself while remaining relatively tack-free to other materials. At least one of the fastener elements has a layer of foam material beneath the self-adhesive material, such as for increased bending stiffness. In some cases, such as for pull-up diapers, the self-adhesive closure is non-releasable once secured. Some closures also have cooperating hook-and-loop elements.

Abstract: A sports hat comprises a body including a domed portion having a narrow end and an open wide end, and a ring portion of variable diameter at the narrow end. An elasticized band is associated with the ring portion, as is a substantially non-stretchable elongate drawstring. The elongate drawstring is adjustable between a loosened position and a tightened position to limit the diameter of the ring portion.

Abstract: A peak including a peak part and an elongated substantially rectangular retaining band both die cut from closed cell foamed plastic material. A pair of openings are formed respectively at the corners of the peak part. A pair of apertures are provided at each end of the retaining band. Dumbbell shaped connectors connect the band to the peak part. Each connector passes through one of each pair of apertures and a registering opening. By having two apertures at each end of the band, the length of the band can be adjusted.

Abstract: A hunting hood is described that can be worn on the head of a hunter, in both summer and winter. The hood has several comfort-providing features, such as an adjustable eye window and an attachable and detachable hinged flap for exposing an opening for the mouth of a hunter. These adjustable features allow the hood to be contoured to the face of each individual hunter.
