Abstract: The present invention is a blinder attachment for wrestling headgear. The attachment has an extension with VELCRO strips which allows it to wrap over the band or strap of the wrestling headgear to form a loop and secure the blinder over the eyes. Also, laces are provided that extend through holes in the blinder and headgear ear guards so that the blinder may be further secured on the head. The blinder includes eye pillows which gently press against the eye lids to urge the eyes shut and prevent most light from penetrating to the eyes. By parcticing with the wrestling blinder of the present invention, wrestlers may improve their kinesthetic awareness and thereby improve their wrestling performance.

Fabric closure material on the elastic sheet and filter body serves to removably attach the filter body in place. Additional fabric closure strips of the hook and loop type, when mated to one another, hold the elastic sheet in a partially folded shape to define the aforementioned open area. The filter body may be of a fibrous nature or a molded nose cup shape.

Abstract: A universal costume mask armature is disclosed in which a rigid, preferably lattice, infrastructure including skull-shaped cranium and face portion is utilized. The face portion is preferably generally flattened and includes a pair of eye ports. A nose plate between the eye ports forms a continuation of the face and serves to receive and support nose features of a mask mounted on the armature. The face portion also includes a maxilary plate located below the nose plate to receive and support upper lip features of a mask. Use of this armature will enable a very wide range and variety of masks to be interchanged because the construction of the face portion of the armature is designed to support unlimited combinations of nose, eyebrows, beak, etc. without regard to their weight or size.

Abstract: A face mask having an upper mask portion and a lower mask portion, each of which portions are connected respectively to two legs of a V-shaped element on which is inserted into the mouth of the mask wearer. A tooth grip provided on the V-shaped element allows the mask wearer to hold the mask firmly. Flexing of the V-shaped element at its hinge produces relative motion between the upper and lower mask portions. A metal element is attached to one leg of the V-shaped element for generating a clicking sound when the V-shaped element is flexed.

  • Patent number: 4300240
Abstract: A mask member is made from a thin, rubber, cloth-like material. The mask member is sized and shaped to fit about the face to extend rearward from the face to about the left and right ear areas and to extend in length from an upper edge to a lower edge. The upper edge extends along a line between the cheekbone area below the temples, along the lower part of the eye sockets, contouredly over the bridge of the nose. The mask member is unitarily formed with a nose piece contoured to fit over the nose. The nose piece together with the face mask are shaped to form a breathing aperture for the nostrils. A seam extends from below the nose piece downward to act as a front edge. The seam extends convexly from below the nose to the chin area to form a pocket for the lips and air, and arcuately inward under the chin to the lower edge. The seam selectively forms a channel in communication with the pocket. Aperture means are formed in the mask member proximate the mouth for breathing and speech.
