Scarfs And Veils Patents (Class 2/207)
  • Patent number: 4964172
Abstract: A nursing blanket for use by a nursing mother to shield her breast from public view while feeding her infant. The blanket comprises a square of woven cloth with an elastic, garter-like loop affixed near one corner of the cloth. In use, the mother inserts her arm through the loop and pulls the loop up over the point of the shoulder thereby disposing the cloth down the length of the arm. She then cradles the infant in same arm and drapes a portion of the cloth over most of her chest including her breast and over the infant's head and upper body. She can then reach under the cloth to bare her breast and offer it to the infant. In this way she effectively screens her breast from view and is able to discretely nurse in public.

  • Patent number: 4914754
Abstract: A disposable cap and cape is provided for use during the chemical processing of hair both during the waiting period and the rinsing phase. It is preferrably fabricated from a single rectangular sheet of thin flexible plastic. The cap portion is formed at one end by folding the sheet over onto itself and welding the sides to each. A U-shaped neck cutout is made at the other end creating ties from the remaining material on either side. When the device is used as a cap, the cap portion is fitted over the head and the chemical is retained inside by the proximity of the sheet material. When the device is used as a cape, one tie is positioned on each side of the head, the device is pulled up to the back of the neck, the ties are tied together at the forehead, and the cap portion is allowed to drape down the back. Rinse water and chemicals then flow over the outside of the former cap into a sink.

  • Patent number: 4870707
Abstract: A scarf has a generally butterfly-like configuration formed with two mirror-image, generally triangular panels and a connecting neck portion which is preferably pleated. The scarf extends laterally along the straight grain of the fabric to two corners of the triangular panels, and along the bias of the fabric to second corners of the triangular panels. The fabric is a fluid, drapable fabric, preferably pure silk or a silk blend. The scarf can be cut as a single integral piece, or as two pieces joined in a seam at the neck portion. The dimensions of the fabric depend on the size of the person wearing it and its use. In a large size, the scarf can be draped around the neck for use as a stole, dickey, bandeau or halter blouse, with at least one pair of the corners tied at the back. In any size, the scarf can be tied and displayed to provide a wide variety of scarf bows and styles.
