Abstract: An article of clothing provides workers or users with a modifiable or transformable bottom garment which may be arranged in a functional, work configuration or a more aesthetic, non-work configuration by selectively folding a cover assembly downward or upward relative to the bottom garment. When folded downward, the cover assembly may reveal functional elements such as tool-supporting loops, pockets, etc., and/or may provide an inner surface for the wearer to clean their hands. When folded upward, a pocket is instead formed between the cover assembly and the bottom garment, for the wearer to warm their hands. One or more inserts may be connected to the downward-folded cover assembly to provide additional utilities or functions.

Abstract: A dynamic vent-slit structure for a lower body article of apparel is provided. The article includes a pelvic portion for covering a pelvic area of a wearer when the article is in an as-worn position, and a plurality of slits in a repeating fashion, wherein a spacing between two adjacent slits in linear alignment is less than a length of a slit in non-linear alignment with the two slits and that is offset from the two slits such that the slit in non-linear alignment overlies the spacing between the slits in linear alignment, and the slit in non-linear alignment is parallel to the slits in linear alignment. The slits may be positioned in one or more groupings or aligned in different directions to open in response to different directions of stretch or movement, to provide dynamic or motion activated venting in the article.

Abstract: A garment with insulated liner including a short pant attached to an insulated undergarment. The insulated undergarment is adapted to cover and fit closely to the body of a wearer to preserve an elevated temperature of the body of the wearer under the insulated undergarment. A pair of front seams are provided to secure the short pant to the insulated garment. The front seams extend from a waist area through a pelvic area to a crotch area to prevent the insulated undergarment from drastically shifting in turbulent water.

Abstract: Aspects herein provide for a pocket structure for a garment that is configured to effectively stow and secure objects such as balls. The pocket structure comprises a gusset insert located on an outer-facing panel of the pocket structure and a pleat structure located on an inner-facing panel of the pocket structure. The gusset insert and the pleat structure work in combination to increase the interior volume of the pocket structure to effectively accommodate the stored object.

A resiliently elastic stretch panel is attached to an interior of the body and includes an opening for receiving therethrough the wearer's genitalia. A padded member is attached to the interior of the body for cushioning one or more areas of the wearer, such as their crotch and buttocks.

Abstract: Wraps that provide heat and flame resistant properties to a portable radio, a remote speaker microphone (RSM), and a cord therebetween have an elongate body having a head and a tail, opposing first and second major surfaces that each have first and second elongate edges, and first and second elongate sides. The elongate body is made of flame and heat resistant fabric and has first fasteners positioned as a releasably mateable pair when the first and second elongate sides meet or overlap in a wrapped positioned. The head defines an opening therethrough positioned for alignment with a voice amplifier of a RSM when the wrap is in a wrapped position around the RSM. A wrap may be and independent article or it may be sewn to a firefighter turnout coat on a front boy section proximate a neck section of the coat.

Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide a garment liner that couples to the interior of a clothing article. The garment liner can replace typical underwear. The garment liner can shield clothing from a person's body, and can improve comfort by conforming to the shape of the clothing instead of to the body.

Abstract: Provided herein is a device for reinforcing the lower body during the performance of a compound weightlifting exercise including at least two thigh bands, each defining an opening for a wearer's thigh, at least two biasing straps, each biasing strap having a proximal end and a distal end, each biasing strap connected at the distal end thereof to one of the at least two generally circular thigh bands, and a waist portion connected to the proximal end of each biasing strap. Abstract: A wearable resistance exercise garment and method of resistance exercise provides stretchy material athletic pants with elastic bands attached at the ankle ends for resistance exercises. The wearer pulls one end of the elastic bands in a first direction to generate an external resistance force that is counterbalanced by the weight and feet of the wearer. The pants have an upper waist section and a pair of legs terminating at two ankle ends. The ankle ends form openings that enable passage of the feet. A hook and loop fastener strap regulates the snugness around the ankle. A fastenable pocket forms at ankle ends. Elastic bands have a first end fixedly attach to the pocket, and a second end that can be grasped by the wearer. The bands are pulled in first direction and manipulated for resistance training. When not in use, the bands are tucked into their respective pockets.

Abstract: Systems and methods of integrating dynamic materials into articles for adjustable physical characteristics including aesthetic and functional characteristics are provided herein. For example, in response to a human's body heat, a dynamic material may change shape to allow additional permeability in an article of clothing. Similarly, in response to the presence of moisture, an article of clothing may close a vent to prevent the introduction of rain into an internal portion of the article. The shape changing material may change shape that merely affects a feature formed by the shape changing material. Additionally, it is contemplated that the shape changing material may change shape that affects a geometric structure of the article as a whole, such as protrusions, dimples, vents, etc.

Abstract: An orthosis includes dynamic tensioning elements, recreating and/or improving on the load sharing typically provided by soft tissue, such as ligaments, tendons, muscle and a capsule at a joint of a patient or wearer, thereby providing support and preventing further injury from joint instability and/or joint laxity. The orthosis can support a glenohumeral joint of the shoulder brace and can prevent additional injury from various shoulder instabilities, for example, anterior, inferior, posterior and/or multidirectional instabilities. This can be accomplished by dynamically tensioning posterior, anterior and/or humeral head straps of the orthosis. The straps can be primarily adjustable only in tension forces stored there within, rather in orientation relative to the shoulder. This can simplify setup and use, and can ensure the orthosis has a low profile. Related methods of use also are provided.

Abstract: A protective garment configured to facilitate easy donning of the garment is described. The sleeves and legs are shorted and held in a donning configuration by releaseably affixing at least a portion of upper and lower segments of the interior surface of each limb. This allows the garment to be handled and donned by the wearer, without the wearer touching an exterior surface of the garment. A method of preparing a protective garment for donning and a method of donning such a garment is also disclosed.

A halter bib athletic garment may include a lower body section, a chamois coupled to the lower body section, and an upper body section. The upper body section comprises a halter strap forming a portion of a loop of a head opening on the upper body section. The rear side portion is coupled to the athletic garment only with the front side portions of the halter strap.
