Abstract: A voltage switching microswitch is provided for supplying power to a hot surface igniter in a gas burning system. The microswitch is configured to operate concurrently with manual operation of a gas control valve such that rotation of an operating stem of the gas control valve produces rotation of a cam within the microswitch. The cam is configured to operate a pair of reed switches so that a relatively high voltage from a power supply is applied to the hot surface igniter following a first predetermined amount of rotation of the cam and a relatively lower voltage is applied to the hot surface igniter following a second predetermined amount of rotation of the cam to maintain the temperature of the igniter.

Abstract: Provided is a wiper driving apparatus for an automobile. The wiper driving apparatus includes: a housing; a driving motor; a worm wheel installed in the housing to be rotated by the driving motor, connected to a wiper arm, and having protrusions formed on a surface thereof; and a clutch member eccentric with respect to the center of the worm wheel to be rotatably installed in the housing such that power supply to the driving motor is selectively turned on or off according to the position of the rotating clutch member relative to the housing, wherein the clutch member has an engagement unit which is caught by the protrusions of the worm wheel when the worm wheel is rotated in a first direction, and is not caught by the protrusions of the worm wheel when the worm wheel is rotated in a second direction.
Abstract: An appliance timer operable in a selection mode and an operation mode includes a shaft assembly, a switch assembly, a cam device, a bi-directional motor, and a display device. The shaft assembly is operable to select an operation cycle and to drive the display device in the selection mode. The motor rotates in a first rotational direction and a second rotational direction opposite to the first rotational direction in the operation mode. When the motor rotates in the first rotational direction, the motor drives the cam device to operate the switch assembly to actuate or deactivate a plurality of electrical circuits associated with a plurality of appliance functions. When the motor rotates in the second rotational direction, the motor drives the display device to indicate an operational status of the appliance. The rotation of the motor is controlled by a microprocessor.

Abstract: A switching apparatus having an actuating shaft, an actuator, at least one switch and a housing. A switching apparatus is in the form of at least one actuating guide which is connected with a first actuating guide portion to the actuating shaft and which with a second actuating guide portion at least partially embraces the actuating shaft at a predetermined spacing, wherein provided on the convex side of the second actuating guide portion is an actuating track for the switch or switches, insofar as at least one predetermined position the spacing between the outer peripheral edge and the actuating shaft is greater for a predetermined arcuate dimension than at other positions of the second actuating guide portion.
Abstract: An improved timer for controlling an appliance includes a camstack having a plurality of cam surfaces defined therein. A switch block cooperates with the plurality of cam surfaces to provide first switching operations for the appliance. A sensor detects rotation of the camstack, and generates position signals in response thereto. A processor is configured to receive the position signals and generate control signals in response thereto, wherein an auxiliary switching operation is performed in response to generation of the control signals.

Abstract: A microswitch with shifting gear, especially suited to set indication, alarm and urgent tripping in pointer type instruments, like pressure gauge, thermometer and so on. The microswitch includes a switch unit, a pressure bar (or lever), an actuator, and a shifting gear. The shifting gear is located near one side of the pressure bar. This shifting gear includes a cam and two forks (or arms) fixed on the cam. The location of the center shaft of the cam is fixed relative to the switch unit. On a circumferential portion of the cam, there are two contact points or two contact surfaces that have unequal distances from the center of the shaft. When a striking arm hits on one of the forks, the cam will rotate and change the contact point or contact surface that contacts the pressure bar, thus the functional mode of the switch unit can be changed. The pointer-type instrument has a pointer (or indicator arm) that indicates environmental conditions such as temperature or pressure.
Abstract: A driving mechanism for a windscreen wiper having a park position switch. The park position switch includes a swivable contact bridge which is pivotally arranged on a pin in the bottom of the driving mechanism. A contact tag on the contact bridge is made of an electrically conductive plate, with the contact tags being formed by bends. The contact bridge is operated via cams on the worm-gear. The cams cooperate with switch flaps on the contact bridge that are equally formed by bends. Preferably, the switch is mounted in the bottom of the driving mechanism so that the contact banks to be contacted can also extend in the bottom of the case.
