  • Patent number: 8419141
Abstract: A switchgear door latch system is provided which prevents a door of a switchgear enclosure from opening should an arc-fault explosion occur within the enclosure. The door of the enclosure is latched from the exterior side of the door rather than on the inside of the door as is true in the prior at designs. All of the components of the latch system are located at the exterior side of the enclosure which facilitates repair of the same without cutting a hole in the door.

  • Patent number: 7895384
Abstract: The present invention helps to develop a smaller sized portable terminal without reducing the functions available for the user. A USB device which is detachable from the portable terminal is provided with a USB connector which is inserted into a USB part of the portable terminal, a power source terminal which comes into contact with a power supply terminal of the portable terminal, when the USB connector is inserted into the USB port of the portable terminal, and a screw which is engaged with a screw hole of the portable terminal. When the screw is engaged with the screw hole of the portable terminal, a switch inside the screw hole is pushed down due to a contact with the screw. The portable terminal detects mounting of the USB device by an output from the switch, and initiates power supplying from the power supply terminal of the portable terminal to the power source terminal of the USB device.

  • Patent number: 7420133
Abstract: A rotary circuit breaker door safety interlock for use with a power switch actuated by a rotating shaft installed in a enclosure with a hinged door is disclosed. The door safety rotary circuit breaker interlock functions both to prevent the enclosure door from being opened unless the power switch has first been turned OFF, and to prevent the power switch from being turned ON while the enclosure door is open. The door safety rotary circuit breaker interlock can be intentionally overridden to allow the enclosure door to be opened without turning the power switch OFF, and to allow the power switch to be turned ON while the enclosure door is open. The door safety rotary circuit breaker interlock is simple mechanically, requires no springs or deformable members for its operation, and can be adapted to many mounting variations in enclosures having doors that hinge at the left, right, top, or bottom.

  • Publication number: 20020112944
Abstract: A defeatable interlock mechanism for an electrical equipment enclosure requiring a circuit breaker to be tripped before opening includes a support platform having an operator handle stem operably connected to the circuit breaker, an interlock slide plate slidably positioned along the support platform and having a keyhole-shaped slot for receiving a door interlock pin therein, and a lever operably connected to the interlock slide plate and configured to defeat the interlock mechanism when the door interlock pin is engaged with the slot. The lever is pivotally supported at a fulcrum point intermediate the ends of the lever and extends through an escutcheon to an exterior surface of the enclosure. Movement of the lever causes the interlock slide plate to disengage the door interlock pin and allow the unit door to open even while the circuit breaker is in the “on” position.
