  • Patent number: 10702791
Abstract: The invention provides several innovations relative to MVC thermal distillation methods and facilities in order to decrease their specific electricity consumption to values of only 2 to 4 kWh/m3 of distillate produced, as well as their manufacturing costs. The vapour transport system is reduced to its simplest expression and has a practically null total dynamic pressure loss. The compression system including the compressor motor) is completely integrated into the evaporator-condenser, installed in the inlet of the condensation zones, preferably provided with a system preventing overheating of the vapour, and driven at a high speed of rotation. Preferably, the auxiliary equipment is installed in the enclosure in a partial vacuum (hermetic chamber). According to one particular embodiment, the condensation zones have a section that decreases with the path of the vapour. The exchangers on the incoming and outgoing flows are supplied with continuously balanced heat loads.

Abstract: A desalination system in the form of a submerged gas evaporator that includes a vessel, a gas delivery tube partially disposed within the vessel to deliver a gas into the vessel and a fluid inlet that provides a fluid to the vessel at a rate sufficient to maintain a controlled constant level of fluid within the vessel. During operation, gas introduced through the tube mixes with the fluid and the combined gas and fluid flow at a high rate with a high degree of turbulence, thereby promoting vigorous mixing and intimate contact between the gas and the fluid, which leads to a more efficient and complete evaporation. Additionally, vapor exiting the submerged gas evaporator is condensed in a condensing unit thus precipitating vapor into a liquid for removal.

Abstract: Waste water from an industrial process, including an organic acid, is reprocessed by introducing the waste water into a heat exchange process in which a heat exchange medium is used so that the waste water which is to be treated is heated to a temperature between 60° C. and the boiling point of the waste water. Subsequently, the waste water is partially evaporated and re-condensed, with the waste water irradiated with UV radiation during the evaporation and condensation process in the liquid and/or gas phase. As a result, a chemical transformation of the organic acid in H2O and carbon dioxide is at least partially carried out. Then, the condensed part of the purified waste water is fed back into the industrial process.

Abstract: The invention describes a new and simple method of construction of a stationary distillation unit and of a small portable distillation unit. The evaporation pans are made of simple materials and are covered with a transparent film. Additionally in the small portable unit its evaporation pan has a double bottom, which receives hot water. By connection of the evaporation pan with the solar collectors (12) its productive ability significantly increases. The portable and stationary desalination units of the invention use solar power exclusively and simultaneously produce two products: distilled water and salt. The exploitation of solar radiation occurs both in the part of the unit covered by the transparent film as well as in the use of hot water produced by the solar collector connected to it, thus speeding up the evaporation of sea water.
