Abstract: A container, such as a bottle or jar, that includes a closed compartment and an active insert device for pressurizing the closed compartment. The active insert device comprises an elastic liner and an active insert that are affixed to a closure or cap or the container. The active insert includes at least one reactant that is triggered to a reaction by an external energy source. The reaction produces a gas, which is delivered to the closed compartment via the liner. The gas causes the liner to expand and open a passage to deliver the gas to the closed compartment.

Abstract: A survival package provides fire making materials and water. The package includes a tube and at least one water bottle and fire starter assembly contained within the tube. The tube is made of combustible material, and may be a rolled paper or cardboard tube having first and second end caps and a plurality of tube sections. The tube may have a plurality of ventilation apertures. The water bottle and fire starter assembly includes a closed water bottle and a fire starter. The fire starter may be of wax and removably attached to the water bottle, or may be a paraffin toroid fitting over the water bottle cap, and may include a paper cup. The fire starter and the combustible tube can be used for fire making. The water bottle provides water for drinking or cooking. The survival package is usable in an airdrop package or as a standalone.

Retaining a cup or glass within or along a plate assembly allows for the user to hold both the plate and cup or glass with a single hand. Generally, a cup or glass retaining plate assembly may comprise a platform defining an opening which is sized to support a cup or glass extending at least partially through the platform. A retaining clip or arm may be pivotably attached to the platform and movable between a retaining position and a releasing position, wherein the opening opens along a portion of a periphery of the platform such that the cup or glass is secured within the opening when the retaining clip or arm is in the retaining position and wherein the cup or glass is removable when the retaining clip or arm is in the releasing position.

Abstract: The present invention is a single-use ergonomic chalice that has the ability to store both a liquid and a wafer commonly served during the religious ceremony known as Communion. The present invention comprises an ergonomic cup and a cup lid. The ergonomic cup is shaped to easily fit into the fingers or the hand of an individual using the ergonomic cup. Also, the fluid is stored within the ergonomic cup. The cup lid should store the wafer. The present invention may comprise multiple embodiments. Each embodiment is configured to have the cup lid attach to the ergonomic cup. A first embodiment has each the cup lid and the ergonomic cup hermetically sealed with only a single seal. A second embodiment has a seal for each the cup lid and the ergonomic cup. The cup lid may also serve as a supplemental base support for the ergonomic cup.

Abstract: An aid is provided for dining in situations where a food holding receptacle (such as a plate) and a beverage container must be simultaneously supported by a single hand. The food holding receptacle is stably mountable on an upright beverage container. The user holds a lower portion of the beverage container in one hand and uses the other hand to take food items from the receptacle that is supported on the beverage container. In order to drink from the beverage container the user removes the receptacle from the beverage container and drinks from the beverage container. The food holding receptacle is stably mounted on the beverage container in loose-fitting relationship so the receptacle can be repeatedly mounted on and demounted from the beverage container in a facile manner. The food holding receptacle may also be used to stably support a beverage container following inversion of the receptacle.

These insulated drink holders are commonly called coolies or koozies and are manufactured with a central hole to allow for draining. A clip connects a compliant cord to one or both of the two parts. The compliant cord is configured as a coiled cord. A weight is connected to the free end of the compliant cord to keep the insulated drink holder in an upright orientation in the water. The compliant cord allows the weight to move semi independent from the insulated drink holder, and further allows the weight to be stored within the insulated drink holder for storage when it is not being used.

A single soluble film breath strip is housed in the strip pouch to be accessed by the user and dissolved in the mouth to remove the users bad breath and taste. In one aspect the breath strip assembly comprises a flexible substrate having front and rear surfaces. The rear surface is attached to the drink container using a pressure sensitive rear adhesive between the rear surface and the drink container. A removable film is partially attached to the front surface of the substrate using a pressure sensitive front adhesive on the substrate in a pattern to provide the strip pouch.

The components may be disassembled and carried in a small pouch.

The pressure chamber has at least one small outer bore. The insert is freely movable in the container for liquids but has such a stable floating position on a surface of the liquid within the container for the liquids that the outer bore always points upwardly and optimizes a pressure compensation with the environment. Abstract: An article for use with a hot item is disclosed. The article is formed of a substantially flat member having a coaster region and two side regions. In various preferred embodiments, the coaster region is attached to the member at a back region. The side regions are adapted to be used to grasp a hot item such as a bowl, cup, plate, or pot. For example, the article can be used to remove a hot dish from a microwave oven. The coaster region hangs from its point of attachment when in use. The hot item can then be placed on a flat surface with the coaster region below it. Ideally, the side regions conform to a planar configuration once the article is placed on a flat surface. The article can be used as a placemat in this condition. Ideally, the article is formed of a heat-resistant material.

Abstract: A pill case has an oblong base with pill spaces on opposite sides of a cup holder in the base. A collapsible cup is provided within the cup holder. A lid has an accessory housing. The lid is attached to the base via a hinge or fold joint. The accessory housing fits into the cup within the cup holder when the pill case is closed. An electronic accessory, such as a clock, may be contained within the accessory housing.

Abstract: A device attachable to an article provides drinking water and storage of hot and cold food. The drinking water is stored in an insulated container that can be pressurized by a hand-pump inlet valve. A plastic tube is attached to an outlet extending to a position reachable to a user's mouth. The tube has a valve allowing the user to control the flow of the drinking water. The device further comprises a pair of insulated containers, one for storing cold food and the other hot food. The container with the drinking water and the pair of insulated containers are attachable to (and separable from) each other (or can be permanently affixed). A plurality of plastic clips can hold the tube to the article.
