Including Wound, Or Rolled, Weblike Material Patents (Class 206/225)
  • Patent number: 4223783
Abstract: Packaging means for storing, mailing or transporting a plurality of small objects having pointed ends. The package has a sheet of compressible foam material having a plurality of tapes attached to one face of the sheet for receiving the pointed objects to a stored position in which the points are embedded in the foam. The foam sheet is rolled into a scroll and maintained in position by a pair of rods, connected to opposite ends of the sheet, which are tied together.

  • Patent number: 4220295
Abstract: A package and a method to produce said package are provided comprising a wound body of strand having an outer cylindrical portion; and an elastic membrane wound about the cylindrical portion of said body, the membrane being wound to a sufficient thickness and being stretched sufficiently to partially collapse when the strand is withdrawn from the body such that the membrane captures the strand of the outer cylindrical portion to retain such strand along said membrane until said strand is withdrawn from the package at a predetermined time.

  • Patent number: 4080228
Abstract: An aggregate product comprising an aggregate, such as alumina of a size from about 1/2 inch to about 60 mesh, is bonded in a substantially continuous layer by means of conventional adhesives to a strip of fine mesh, such as nylon mesh. A viscous adhesive, such as a two-component epoxy resin, applied to the surface to be covered, bonds the aggregate-containing mesh to such surface. The method of this invention comprises coating a surface with a viscous adhesive, placing over such surface the aggregate-containing mesh, initiating pressure so as to cause settling of the aggregate-containing mesh into the viscous adhesive, and allowing the adhesive to bond the aggregate-containing mesh to the surface. Preferably, the adhesive is sprayed or rolled onto the surface and the aggregate-containing mesh is rolled out over the wet adhesive using a tape or string attached to the roll to propel it from a rolled-up position.

  • Patent number: 4020591
Abstract: A tunnel-type greenhouse is packed in a mailing tube with wires constituting support-wicket halves received in a core tube on which a synthetic-resin foil usable as the greenhouse wall is wound. The wire wicket halves are joined together by short sleeves and formed into wickets that are driven into the ground in a row. The foil is unwound from the core tube which is broken in two at a central weakened region to form two stakes that are driven into the ground at the ends of the row. String unwound from the ends of the core tube is secured between these stakes and the apices of the end wickets. The foil is stretched between the stakes over the wickets and extra wickets may be engaged over the foil to hold it in place.
