  • Patent number: 11185317
Abstract: Medical adhesive applicators are disclosed which allow medical adhesives to have long storage life and be easily dispensed in a controlled manner. In one embodiment, the applicator has a frangible glass vial with the medical adhesive. The frangible glass vial is held in a plastic enclosure with a dispensing tip. Attached to the plastic enclosure is a squeeze tube capable of imparting air pressure into the enclosure. In another embodiment, the applicator has a proximal chamber containing medical adhesive, a distal chamber for dispensing medical adhesive and one or more rupturable membranes between them. In another embodiment, an applicator pad is sized to retain the total volume of adhesive and initiator so that, in use, the entire volume of adhesive liquid is first loaded into the pad. So loaded, the adhesive and initiator mix evenly to provide an adhesive layer that cures puddle-free.

  • Patent number: 10414553
Abstract: A package for preserving freshness and storing elongated items. The package is preferably biodegradable, substantially airtight, child resistant and reusable. Various seal constructions are described for sealing a case body portion against a case lid portion. The respective sealing surfaces of the case lid portion and case body portion are complementary, but spaced. A continuous elastomeric seal is provided in the seal space between the complementary sealing surfaces. The seal is configured to be compressed along the entire sealing length of the sealing surface when the case lid portion is pivoted into the latched position. The compressed elastomeric seal provides a spring force that retains the latch in the latched position and a spring force that is resolved into sealing vectors perpendicular to the sealing surface along the entire length of the sealing surface to ensure a seal along the sealing surface.

The housing includes a barrel portion adjacent to a front surface and extending between top and bottom ends. The barrel portion includes a longitudinal axis, a gap separating the barrel portion into top and bottom barrel sections having first and second passageways aligned with the longitudinal axis, respectively. The door includes a hinge adjacent to a side surface and including a third passageway aligned with the longitudinal axis. An inner surface of the hinge pin complements an outer surface of the hinge. The hinge pin passes through the first, third, and second passageways. The door pivots about the longitudinal axis between an open position and a closed position. The longitudinal axis is offset from a center plane of the door.

  • Publication number: 20110192737
Abstract: Cigarettes are stored in one or more reservoirs at a customer location. A computer receives customer orders and transmits them to a dispenser. Upon receipt of a customer order, a pre-selected number of cigarettes is automatically removed from the reservoir(s) by the dispenser and then automatically packed in a container by a packer comprising a collation mandrel which is movable relative to the dispenser. A preferred type of substantially air-tight, self-sealing container has a lid portion, a body portion and a collar, which is mounted within the body portion. The body portion is provided with one or more upwardly extending protrusions on the upper surface of the base thereof. An air and moisture impermeable membrane is sealed about the upper periphery of the collar.

  • Patent number: 6202897
Abstract: An nozzle for storage and application of liquid dental material, such as primer or adhesive, to a preparation site at a patient's teeth, gums or mouth. The nozzle includes a hollow nozzle for containing the liquid dental material. The hollow nozzle can include a flocked, open tip through which the liquid dental material is dispensed. The nozzle also includes a storage block having a plurality of cavities formed therein. A plurality of hollow nozzles can be inserted into the cavities to form substantially air-tight seals between the open tips of the hollow nozzles and the exterior of the cavities. An end of the hollow nozzles opposite from the open tip and exposed above the block includes a breakable seal. Accordingly, the hollow nozzles can be stored in the block for an extended period of time. To apply the liquid dental material to a preparation site, an applicator can be attached to the end of the hollow nozzle exposed above the block.
