Abstract: A cover sleeve for standard cigarette packs to cover over undesirable graphic displays printed on such cigarette packs is formed of an assemblable flat blank comprising a plurality of panels. The flat blank is suitable for point of purchase sale to the consumer and has a bottom panel for structural rigidity with a hole permitting access to the bottom of the cigarette pack.

Abstract: One embodiment of the invention provides a hinged-lid pack (1) for smoking articles such as cigarettes. The pack comprises a body (4) and a lid (5) each having respective front (12,22), back (13,23) and opposing side panels (11A,11B,21A,21B). The back panel of the lid (3) is hinged to the back panel of the body. At least one side panel of the lid is provided with an inner tab (201A,201B) extending substantially coplanar with the side panel of the lid to resist opening of the lid.

Abstract: A cigarette package of the invention has a casing (10), which includes an open end (12) that is opened/closed with a tongue lid (16). The tongue lid (16) has a lid portion (18), a tongue portion (22), and a magnet (28) fixed onto the tongue portion (22). A sheet (34) capable of being attracted to the magnet (28) is fixed onto a front wall (10f) of the casing (10). When the tongue lid (16) is in the closed position, the magnet (28) and the sheet (34) keep the tongue portion (22) attracted to the front wall (10f) in cooperation with each other by using the attracting force of the magnet (28). At the time of closing the tongue lid (16), the tongue portion (22) hits the front wall (10f) and thus makes a clap sound.

The outer packet part has one substantially open face through which the inner packet part can be pushed out of the packet part with a slide aperture in the outer packet part. It also relates to a smoking article packet in which the inner packet part has a lid attached to it, or articulated, and a lid opening tab is provided in the region of the articulation line. The lid opening tab has a cut-out in which a co-operating piece on the outer packet part is able to engage, causing the lid to open as the inner packet part is being pushed out of the outer packet part.

The closure tab slides into the closure slot by sliding along a bearing surface and the top panel establishes a raised fulcrum effect which tends to maintain the closure tab in the closure slot when the pack is in a closed condition.

The at least one section comprises a part of the inner liner outer edge.

The folded curved pack end flap is subsequently affixed to a second surface in the formation of the pack. The curved pack end flap (20) with the interconnected panels (27) functions to maintain positional accuracy, decrease tearing of the end flap panels (27) during the folding process, and allow for glue application to be more precise during assembly as compared to the end flap of the prior art.

Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for making a hard pack cigarette package composed of a transparent material that includes an inner frame that is also composed of a transparent material. The package is assembled using a hot-melt adhesive material to bind the package together as well as to bind the inner frame insert and a foil wrapped assemblage of smoking articles to the package. The hot-melt adhesive material is applied by an electronically controlled hot-melt adhesive applicator working in conjunction with a uniform contrast roller.
