  • Patent number: 9913494
Abstract: An electronic cigarette is provided, which can prevent users being short of breath and a short circuit of a battery assembly. When the atomizer assembly is connected to the battery assembly, the first elastic electrode column and the second elastic electrode column abut against the annular end surface of the outer electrode and the annular end surface of the inner electrode, respectively, and the first elastic electrode column and the second elastic electrode column are both deviated from the opening of the hollow cavity of the inner electrode of the atomizer assembly. Thus, a manner of point-surface contact and deviating from the opening of the cavity is formed, which not only ensures an unobstructed air passage and prevents users being short of breath.

  • Patent number: 9775780
Abstract: Various embodiments relate to systems and methods for monitoring adherence to a medication regimen through the use of a smart medication container. The container can include an electronic display that presents relevant information, such as dosage and/or medication information, instructions, user information, messages, notifications, and device information (e.g., battery status, network connectivity status). A pair of conductive elements positioned on either side of the container's opening can be configured to continually measure capacitance in order to identify when contents (e.g., pills) leave the container. More than one pair of conductive elements may be used to improve accuracy and reduce the effects of noise. A processor is able to analyze the capacitance data and determine whether medication has been dispensed from the container and, if so, how much medication was dispensed. A computer system can then compare the results to a planned medication regimen to determine a state of compliance.

Abstract: A fluid detector for determining a presence of a fluid within a container, the detector including a sensor assembly with a lens and a sensor element that outputs a first ultrasonic signal in response to an input electrical signal. A generally cylindrical wall extends outwardly from an outer surface of the container and defines a housing with a cylindrical central bore having a base surface. The sensor assembly is coupled to the lens so that the lens focuses the first ultrasonic signal toward the wall. The sensor assembly is positioned such that it receives a second ultrasonic signal from the wall that results from the first ultrasonic signal. The sensor assembly then generates an output electrical signal corresponding to the second ultrasonic signal.
