Abstract: A container includes a casing defining an annular chamber for a volume of thread or wire pre-wound into coils to accommodate therein without becoming tangled, and a cover detachably closed onto the casing. A clearance exists between an upper peripheral edge of the casing and a lower peripheral edge of the cover when the cover and the casing are closed, allowing a free end of the thread or wire in the annular chamber to locate outside the container via the clearance. Therefore, the thread or wire in the container could be easily accessed and pulled outward at the free end for use without the need of opening the cover. The container could be refilled with a new thread or wire and therefore could be repeatedly used.

Abstract: Blisters of the skin are treated by applying to the skin over the blister a flexible moisture-containing hydrophilic hydrogel patch that includes a backing support such as paper, cloth or plastic and a water-based hydrogel layer applied to the backing. The hydrogel layer comprises a hydrophilic natural or synthetic polymer to provide body dispersed in water and can be a tacky adhesive. The polymer can comprise any high molecular weight hydrophilic carbohydrate such as karaya, cornstarch, or a kelp gel and/or a synthetic hydrophilic polymer such as polyacrylamide or polyacrylic acid. A humectant such as a polyhydric alcohol, keeps the gel layer moist. A solute such as salt, protein, sugar or an alcohol is dissolved in the water in a quantity sufficient to raise the osmotic pressure enough to maintain the hydrogel layer in a hypertonic state with respect to the blister.

Abstract: A postal package includes first and second sheet portions, at least one of which includes a cut-out window, and an inner case interposed between the first and second sheet portions. The inner case is constituted by a cup having a mouth and an outwardly extending flange portion around the mouth and by a cover dimensioned to close the mouth of the cup. At least one of the cup and the cover includes engagement structure for mutual engagement one to the other. Such engagement structure is defined by inter-engaging surfaces of the cup and the cover. The cup is dimensioned to protrude through the cut-out window. In a further embodiment, the cover can additionally present a cup shape, dimensioned to protrude from another cut-out window formed in the other of the first and second sheet portions.

The device further includes an outer surface for displaying information about the item of jewelry. After folding, the insert may be slid into a pocket in a transparent sheet for display of the item of jewelry and information about the item.

Abstract: A packaging assembly, and method of packaging a plurality of products, for economically and safely shipping and displaying a plurality of products. The packaging assembly includes a display stand, a plurality of display packs holding the plurality of products, and a shipping cover. The display stand is constructed from a single sheet of cardboard, and includes a rectangular base panel, a front panel having a gap for viewing, and two parallel side panels. Each side panel includes a plurality of slots that correspond with slots in the other side panel. Each display pack is an approximately planar assembly formed from front and rear portions of transparent, vacuum-molded plastic. The front and rear portions are each configured with a flange, the flanges each forming conforming notches allowing the two portions to be adjoined and heat sealed or glued together. The display pack includes a product chamber configured to hold the product, and further contains a product display card.

Abstract: A storage page for a three-ring binder or the like has a plurality of three-dimensional cavities for storing and displaying three-dimensional objects. The storage page is constructed of a clear plastic material sufficiently rigid to maintain its shape. In a preferred embodiment, the three-dimensional cavities are defined by raised sections in the front sheet of the storage page, the raised sections generally defined by a planar wall parallel to the front sheet, and one or more walls normal thereto to form a three-dimensional pocket. The back sheet of the storage page includes identically shaped and mating indentations that cooperate with the three-dimensional pockets of the front sheet of the storage page to define the three-dimensional cavity. An opaque matte may be sandwiched between the front and back sheets of the storage page, the matte being used for backing or contrast, and also in a writing surface for labeling and other indicia the contents of the individual three-dimensional cavities.

The accompanying leaflet represents part of the blister pack and is situated within the confines of the blister pack, for example in a compartmemt in the base or in a gripping facility on one side of the blister pack.

Abstract: A mouthguard that has an integral tethering strap is packaged by forming a loop at the distal end of the strap and then folding the strap back over the front of the U-shaped mouthguard body so as to nest the loop within the U-shaped body. The mouthguard is then ensealed in a transparent plastic clamshell enclosure. The enclosure is assembled to a paperboard carrier which contains cut-outs that are symmetrical about a line of folding for a flap portion of the carrier. When the flap is folded back onto the carrier, the margin of the clamshell is trapped. A second flap opposite the first one is also folded back onto the same side of the carrier as the first flap. The opposing faces of this second flap and the carrier contain a warranty card and a warranty certificate.

Abstract: A dispenser for a roll of adhesive labels or other types of tape rolls employs two sidewalls hinged to a third intermediary base wall to close and create a pocket for holding the tape roll while allowing the roll to rotate for dispensing. The base wall has a face for supporting the dispenser on a desk and the tape may be dispensed through a slot formed by the interface of the two sidewalls. Interfitting embossments in the two sidewalls allow the dispenser to be opened for removing or inserting a new roll of tape. A window cut in one sidewall allows advancing or stopping the tape with finger pressure against the tape. The dispenser is advantageously produced from a single piece of plastic.

Abstract: A working clamshell blister package for holding and displaying a tape measure having working components, the package including first and second substantially mirror image panels each having an upper end, a lower end, a pair of sides and a recess, a base portion being generally trapezoidal in cross-section, the lower ends of the panels being integrally hinged to the base portion. When the panels are placed in contacting relationship, an enclosed compartment for the tape measure is formed by the recesses. The package also includes a working platform being defined by at least one opposed pair of the side edges, the working platform including at least one integrally formed access opening defined in part by each side, the access opening being positioned to permit access to the working components of the tape measure while the tape measure is held within the compartment.

Abstract: An improved package for protecting fragile item during shipment and subsequent display which allows the item contained therein to be viewed substantially about its perimeter. The package also protects the fragile item from mechanical shock. The package consists of an encapsulating shell member for receiving the fragile item, a board member interconnected with the shell member, a securing feature for securing the shell member to the board member and a shock absorbing feature for protecting the item from breakage due to mechanical shock. The package is reusable and allows for easy replacement of any component damaged during the packing of the item.

Abstract: A make-up package in the form of a mounting card with a central opening therethrough, into which is mounted a make-up bottle having make-up therein of a certain color. Another opening is formed in the mounting card, across the center of which is placed a color strip, matching the color of make-up in the bottle. By placing, for example, the user's finger behind the other opening, the matching of skin color to make-up can be accomplished without opening the bottle.

Abstract: A container for deviled eggs and the like includes a double, transparent plate assembly molded to generally conform to the contours of a deviled egg. Each plate assembly is designed to hold one or more deviled eggs. Into the upper plate of each assembly are molded elliptical hemispheres for storing the yolk mixture of each deviled egg. Into the lower plate of the assembly are molded elliptical hemispheres which are larger than those of the upper plate and which house the white of each deviled egg. The outer peripheral surface surrounding each elliptical hemisphere in the upper plate acts as a shoulder which abuts against and holds the white portion of each deviled egg snuggly in its molded elliptical hemisphere.

Abstract: According to this invention a razor pack adapted to hold a plurality of razors of substantially identical configuration has a plastic sleeve, which is formed to cover aligned razor heads, the sides of the heads, and a portion of the bottom of the razor. The individual razor units are inserted in the sleeve and the sleeve is attached to a card having a raised rear portion forming an abutment for the back of the sleeve and a closed front portion forming a stop for the razor handles.

Abstract: A bag intended to contain injectable products has two sides, each constituted by a sheet of a complex film and formed so as to have a flat-bottomed, dish-shaped part. At the flat rim of this part, each film sheet is welded to one of the flat surfaces of the semi-rigid reinforcing frame so that the two dish-shaped parts are fitted within each other. Connecting tubes traverse one side of the frame and open out in the central opening of the latter between the two sheets.

Abstract: The pack consists of a single card having an aperture therein shaped and dimensioned to receive and support the heads of a stack of disposable razors. The handle of each razor contains a slot and the assembled handles are secured to the card by a tongue which extends through the slots in the razor handles and is secured at its opposite ends to the card. In a modification, the slots are formed in the ends of the razor handles and a part of the card extends into each of the slots.

Abstract: A display package for small, high value objects such as gem stones utilizes a double sided adhesive insert between a pair of cover members each of which is bonded to a respectively associated one of the adhesive sides of the insert. The article to be displayed is sandwiched between window elements, and in some forms cushion and background elements which are themselves bonded to respectively associated adhesive sides of the insert.

Abstract: A combination cosmetic container and support arrangement is disclosed herein along with a particular way in which it is assembled. The container itself includes a main section defining a compartment adapted to house a cosmetic therein and a cooperating lid. The combination arrangement also includes a support tab having a sheet-like main body which includes a cutout configured to accommodate the container. More specifically, the container with its lid closed is supported within the cutout such that at least one edge section of the tab body along the cutout extends into and between the container's main section and closed lid for maintaining the container in place. The entire tab and its supported container may be hung from a shelf peg or the like by means of a cooperating through-hole in the tab's main body.

Abstract: A mailing and display package and method for manufacturing the same is prepared from a cardboard or paper board blank which is divided into two panels by a fold line. A window is cut in the blank and is symmetrical in each of the two panels on each side of the fold line and is further bordered on all sides by the blank. A piece of transparent film covers the window and the blank is folded along the fold line until the two panels of the blank are in face to face contact at which time they are secured to each other. The transparent film material forms an enclosed transparent pouch to retain a product for mailing or displaying.

Abstract: A card having a shaped, cut way area adapted to frictionally engage a removable, three dimensional figurine. The figurines may be fabricated of plastic and should be suitably configured to be frictionally held within the card. The remaining areas of the card are preferably flat and can be imprinted with descriptive matter relating to the figurine, or the like. Removable engagement of the figurine within the card permits the figurine to be used optionally as a toy separate from the card or as a three dimensional illustration relating to the matter printed on the card.

Abstract: A package is formed from paperboard for displaying an elongate generally cylindrical article such as a flashlight or the like. The package presents a trough-like structure which cradles the article. Abutment means formed in the package prevent movement of the article. A holding member retains the article against the package.

Abstract: Each sheet-form layer of plastic film to be superposed with another layer between layers of non-heat conducting material, such as paperboard, is perforated in a pattern such that, when the layers of plastic are superposed between the layers of normally non-heat conducting material for heat sealing, the perforations of each layer of plastic are aligned with imperforated portions of the superposed perforated layer of plastic. When sealing heat and pressure are applied to the superposed layers of plastic and paperboard or the like by conventional heated dies, each layer of plastic is rapidly sealed to the inner surface of both layers of paperboard, or, if initially sealed to the inner surface of one layer, is rapidly sealed directly to the inner surface of the other layer of paperboard.

Abstract: A package is disclosed for a plurality of slices of a meat product in which the slices are arranged in vertically stacked relation on a base member of preformed, transparent plastic sheet material and enclosed by a cover member which is preformed of like material. The base and cover members have peripheral margins which are in flat engagement and sealed under vacuum with a separable seal along three sides enabling the cover member to be hinged about a fourth side in opening the package so as to obtain access to the product without destruction of the package members and having a snap-in latching arrangement for holding the cover member in position upon reclosing the same.

Abstract: A display package for a longitudinally extended product such as a flashlight and the like, comprising a rectangular base possessing an opening therein, said opening conforming in outline to the longitudinal configuration of said product, a collar integral with said base which completely surrounds at least a portion of the lateral perimeter of said product, and an anchor member integral with said base and located at one or more ends of said opening to secure said product in position within said package. The invention includes a package blank of unitary construction which may be assembled to form said package containing said product in a specially configured die, as well as a particular die useful therewith. The package of the present invention is inexpensively manufactured and is of durable construction.

Abstract: A holder and display device for a socket wrench tool drive component such as a ratchet handle or the like. The drive component is of conventional design and has an operating head and a relatively thin elongated cylindrical stem portion connecting the head to a handle. The display and hanger device is formed of relatively thin flat rigid formable plastic material and has a rectangular opening at its lower end portion of sufficient size to permit positioning therein of the operating head with the stem portion extending downwardly therefrom. The opening is defined by two parallel side portions and a bottom portion, the bottom portion having a semi-cylindrical hump formed therein with an inner diameter corresponding to the inner diameter of the stem. A rectangular strip is initially formed contiguous with the bottom portion and with a semi-cylindrical hump formed therein corresponding in size and shape to the hump in the bottom portion.

Abstract: Method for forming visual display packages from blanks in which a plastic film covers a window region in the package, and in which a tab formed as part of the blank extends into the window region to support an article to be contained in the package and serve as a location for product codes and symbols or other information. At least one pocket is formed in the plastic film to receive an article prior to closing the package. The tab is rotated outward, and when the tab is located adjacent to the transverse axis fold line of the blank it assists in making the completed package free-standing. The tab may be bonded to a portion of the plastic film by a heat responsive thermo-plastic coating on the tab.

Abstract: A bubble type display package includes a cardboard base panel having a thermoplastic coated clear face and an opening, a receptacle member open at its rear and having a peripheral wall projecting through the base opening and terminating in peripherally spaced outwardly projecting ears heat sealed to the base panel rear face, and a thermoplastic cover member having peripherally spaced ears interdigitating the receptacle member ears and heat sealed to the base panel rear face. The cover member is flat or cup shaped and the cover and receptacle members are transparent.
