Abstract: A packaging system and method for packaging a piece of machinery are provided. A first corner bracket is extended from a first exterior edge of the machinery. The first corner bracket comprises a first baseplate positioned along a bottom plane of the machinery, and a first plurality of side plates. Each of the first plurality of side plates is integrally attached to the first baseplate at a first angle. Each of the first plurality of side plates extends upwardly from the baseplate. Each of the first plurality of side plates is integrally attached to at least one other of the first plurality of side plates. The first plurality of side plates form a first interior edge that mates to the first exterior edge of the machinery.

Abstract: A protective device made of plastic, which is intended as an instrument housing for a measuring instrument. In order to ensure sufficient shock protection, which assures that the protective device is not damaged by hard shocks, the protective device is assembled from a core which is made of thermoplastic material and at least in sections encloses the housing, and a sheathing, which is made particularly of rubber elastic material.

Abstract: A packaged plumbing fixture includes a box, a plumbing fixture, and a packaging insert. The box comprises a plurality of generally vertical sides that are interconnected to cooperatively define a cavity for containing a plumbing fixture. The plurality of sides include a first side and a second side that are connected to opposite ends of a third side. The packaging insert includes first and second generally planar surfaces. The packaging insert is positioned within the cavity with each of the first and second generally planar surfaces arranged generally parallel with and proximate to one of the sides. A sum of angles between the third side and the first side and between the third side and the second side is greater than 180 degrees.

Abstract: An improved cornerboard that is usable to protect a corner of a shipping container is provided. The cornerboard reduces workforce required to secure the cornerboard to a plurality of shipping containers, such as a pallet of shipping containers. For example, the cornerboard permits a single individual to position cornerboards about the pallet of shipping containers and shrink wrap or otherwise secure the shipping containers with the cornerboards. In an embodiment, the cornerboard has a tab portion that is partially separable form the cornerboard and positionable between two shipping containers to prevent movement of the cornerboard and eliminate the need for an individual to hold the cornerboard.

Abstract: A material-sparing, reusable stack holding system for supporting and transporting framed photovoltaic or solar thermal flat modules. The system consists of individual molded parts, which form stable and transport-safe pillars or rails, respectively, among one another by means of mechanical cogging and with the frames of the modules by means of a locking connection. To date, only stack holders, in the case of which the solar modules are stacked in horizontal position with the use side facing up (“sunny side”), were known. The system disclosed here makes it possible to stack the modules in horizontal as well as in vertical position. In the case of horizontal stacking, the use side can be arranged facing up or down.

Abstract: A packaging container includes an outer container having a containing space and a passage opening, and a packaging bag for containing an object. The packaging bag includes a containing portion, an opening portion, and a handle portion. The handle portion includes strip-like members each connected to the containing portion at two connection portions. The handle portion has a length equal to or larger than half a length of the object along the passage opening when the handle portion is extended in a direction along the passage opening. When the handle portion is extended in a direction through the passage opening, the handle portion has a length with which the handle portion is allowed to protrude away from a surface of the object adjacent to the passage opening toward the passage opening and the connection portions are located at positions separated away from the surface toward the passage opening.

Abstract: The present embodiment of the subject inventive matter in one embodiment generally comprises of a corner protector containing at least 2 sides and made out of a clear plastic material. The corner protector of the subject inventive matter may also consist of at least one tab to assist in securing the corner protector to the item. Each side of the corner protect of the subject inventive matter may also include protrusions and corresponding receiving grooves that allow corner protector to be securely affixed to the item.

Abstract: A shipping carton with an integral cushion support. The carton includes a bottom, two side walls and two end walls extending vertically from the base, and a top. The top and bottom of the carton include two side flaps and two end flaps that are used to close the top and bottom in a conventional manner. The end flaps preferably include a integrally formed cushion support that includes an elongate body having a triangular cross-sectional shape defined by a vertical wall extending away from the end flap and an inclined wall extending from the end of the vertical wall towards the end flap. One or more locking tabs extend from the end of the inclined wall of the cushion support and engage one or more slots formed in the end flap. Alternatively, a locking member extends away from the end flap in the same direction as the vertical wall of the cushion support and includes a locking slot formed adjacent the end flap that is engaged by the one or more locking tabs to lock the cushion support in place.

A slot is defined between the shock-absorbing block and the shock-absorbing member. A side of the shock-absorbing block towards the shock-absorbing member defines an oblique plane as a cushioning surface, and the oblique plane abuts the shock-absorbing member when the shock-absorbing member is bent.

Abstract: A box template formed of a sheet of material defines a foldable box having at least four side surfaces, a first end surface, and a second end surface. The box template also includes corner protector sections integrally formed with the foldable box. The corner protector sections are configured to be folded to protect an object placed inside the foldable box. The first end surface and second end surface may each include at least two surfaces that are integrally formed with, and connected to, two of the side surfaces. The corner protector sections may be integrally formed with, and connected to, the other two sides of the four side surfaces. The corner protector sections are configured with a plurality of identifiable sections that may be folded in order to create corner protectors. Four corner protector sections may be integrally formed with the foldable box so as to define eight corner protectors.

Abstract: A housing for a portable electronic device includes a bottom shell and a plurality of protection blocks. The bottom shell has a plurality of corner portions, each corner portion includes an engaging recession recessed from an outer surface of the corner portion. The plurality of protection blocks are respectively assembled within the corresponding engaging recessions of the bottom shell, which provide protection in the form of having a double skin. Each protection block together with one corresponding engaging recession of the corner portion of the bottom shell cooperatively defines a buffering area. The protection blocks have an elastic coefficient great than that of the bottom shell and are located on each corner portion, at the point of the greatest vulnerability to impact damage.

The first section being formed in an angled configuration defining first and second legs and defining a first apex therebetween. The edge protector also includes a second section formed from a laminate of paper or paperboard plies overlying a core element. The core element and laminate are formed in an angled configuration similar to the first section. The second section defines third and fourth legs and defines a second apex therebetween. In addition, the second apex defines third inside and fourth outside corners, and the third and fourth legs and the second apex define a second width that is less than the first width. The plies overlying the core element wrap around the fourth outside corner and extend inwardly toward the third inside corner.

The second cushion portion includes a second surface. A contour defined by the first surface matches with at least a part of an object to be packed. When the object is packed in the receiving space, the first surface contacts with at least a part of the object to provide a first cushioning, and when the object is subjected to an impact to deform the first cushion portion, the second surface contacts with the object to provide a second cushioning.

Abstract: A single piece edge protector for curved and curvilinear-shaped objects includes a preformed, rigid, laminated U-board having a bottom wall, and a first sidewall, and a second sidewall which include preformed angled cuts. The preformed cuts are formed at about 15 degrees from a plane perpendicular to the bottom wall. Each sidewall of the edge protector is a mirror-image of the other such that a preformed cut on the first sidewall is directly across from a preformed cut on the second sidewall. A plurality of preformed cuts form both V-shaped openings and a plurality of trapezoid-like legs on the first and second sidewalls. Each leg may have a similar surface area or a different surface area as an adjacent leg along the length of the edge protector. The edge protector is configured to follow a curvilinear perimeter of about 135 degrees and may include an end cap closure.

Abstract: A one-piece thermoformed packaging cap for article shock-protection which has two elongate wings integrally hinged and have upstanding shoulders which define a channel that receives part of the article. Ridges and grooves run along the shoulders of each wing such that when the wings are folded abut each other, the ridges and grooves of one wing nest within those of the other wing and provide cushioning and lateral interlocking between the wings. Caps can have four wings and wrap the entire perimeter of the article and may incorporate a locking tab to secure the wrap. Alternatively, an assembly of partial wrap-components can be locked via flap-tabs. For locking, a projection of one wing enters into a recess of another wing, and a locking flap of the latter wing is folded and a projection of the flap is snapped into the reverse recess of the thermoformed projection.

Abstract: A shipping capsule for an electrical appliance comprises a blanket of insulating material and a layer of stretch wrap. Together these materials function as a durable shipping container eliminating the need for a corrugated cardboard outer carton currently in use. The invention further includes a method of reducing shipping costs and shipping waste associated with shipping an electrical appliance. The method includes the steps of covering at least a portion of the electrical appliance with insulation material that will remain with the electrical appliance after installation and providing a layer of stretch wrap over the insulation material whereby the combination of insulation material and stretch wrap form a shipping capsule.

Abstract: In accordance with embodiments of the present invention described herein, a shipping capsule is provided comprising a lattice blanket that is expandable and contractible so as to allow size adjustability and a covering layer. In one particularly embodiment, the lattice blanket forms an expandable and contractible sleeve that is received around a product being shipped in the shipping capsule and the covering layer is a polymer film such as stretch wrap. Methods of shipping and packaging a product are also disclosed.

Abstract: A method and system are described for providing supports for multiple rows of stacked goods with edge protectors that can be separated at predetermined zones to allow one row of stacked goods to be readily separated from another row. The carrier of reticle pod comprises an upper cover and a lower cover, and the upper cover is configured to be coupled to the lower cover to form an interior space for accommodation. The lower cover includes several pairs of guide tracks disposed on two opposite lateral sides of inner surface of the lower cover. Clapboards are set into the lower cover via the guide tracks to separate the space for accommodation into a plurality of spaces for accommodation for storing reticle pod. Fixing elements including a clipping portion and a resisting portion are disposed on the top surface of the inner surface of upper cover. When the upper cover closes the lower cover, each fixing element of the upper cover is configured to be coupled to each reticle pod stored in the carrier.
