  • Patent number: 6401921
Abstract: A tape measure (3) is inserted in a concavity (2a) in a transparent member (2)(A). A cardboard base (4) is inserted so that the belt clip (3) is led from a cardboard base hole (4a) out to the back side of the cardboard base (4)(B). Next, while inserting the belt clip into the insertion hole of the belt clip engagement member (1), in the vicinity of the tip portion whereof a belt clip insertion hole (1b) has been provided, the belt clip engagement member (1) is pushed in between the cardboard base (4) and the belt clip (3a). The latching piece (1c) advances while pushing the belt clip (3a) up, and, when the latching piece (1c) mates in a hole (3b) in the belt clip, the belt clip which has been pushed up returns to its original state by elastic force, whereupon the belt clip engagement member is attached in the prescribed position (D). By the belt clip engagement member being engaged in the belt clip, the tape measure cannot be removed from the cardboard base.

  • Patent number: 6401920
Abstract: Discs are held locked in a tray by flex arms with disc-retaining extensions overlying inner peripheral areas adjacent the central opening of the uppermost disc. A push button is held within a disc-centering boss. Lock tab detents extending from the push button hold the push button above an inner edge of an annular shelf on the centering boss. The push button is connected to the flex arms with goose neck connectors. Pressing inward on the flex arms tends to move the goose necks to draw the push button downward. In the locked, tamper-evident position, the lock tabs prevent the push button from moving downward, and thus hold the disc-retaining extensions over inner surface areas of the disc.

  • Publication number: 20020000392
Abstract: A beverage container (10) has a base member (16) indented to define an elongate external cavity (20). To provide a self-heating can, the cavity (20) is filled with quicklime and closed by a closure (30) which contains water. If the closure (30) is opened with the can inverted, water flows over the quicklime to cause an exothermic reaction. To provide evidence that the closure (30) has been operated to cause self-heating, the internal surface of a lid (34) is colored and/or provided with a bold pattern. The material of part of the closure (30) is transparent and the contained water is colored. For example, the water is red and the surface of the lid (34) is blue. In the initial full and unoperated state, the closure will appear red. After operation, during which the water exits, the closure will appear blue. • Patent number: 6000548
Abstract: An improved drug delivery kit and method of packaging the same. The method includes providing a tray having first and second recesses for receiving a drug delivery device and drug cartridge respectively, and an opening in the tray within the second recess, placing the drug delivery device in the first recess, covering the tray with a sealable material, sealing the material to the tray so as to create a seal around the first and second recesses, so as to isolate the first recess from the second recess, sterilising the tray, and inserting the drug cartridge through the opening and into second recess. The opening is sized such that insertion of the drug cartridge through the opening and into the second recess elastically stresses the tray and removal of the drug cartridge from the opening irreversibly deforms the tray, thereby creating a tamper-proof drug delivery kit.

  • Patent number: 5967313
Abstract: A package for a folded inner tube for a pneumatic tire, e.g., a bicycle inner tube. The package is formed of a flexible material, and is in the form of a gussetted bag, defining a hollow interior in which the inner tube is located. The package includes plural panels or walls and a mouth which is arranged to be readily peeled open to provide access to the inner tube. When the vacuum is applied, this causes the material forming the package to closely conform to the exterior shape of the inner tube located within the package's hollow interior. This close conformance hardens the package, e.g., makes it resistant to injury. The close conformance of the walls of the package with the inner tube also causes the exterior surface of the package to assume an uneven, e.g., dimpled, state.
