  • Patent number: 10173245
Abstract: The two-stage soil sifting device comprises a support frame, an upper sifter, and a lower sifter. The support frame comprises a rectangular base with cross braces and four vertical uprights that support the upper sifter and the lower sifter at elevated positions. The upper sifter comprises an upper sifter frame and a first mesh having a first mesh spacing. The upper sifter is located above the lower sifter and may be pivotally inclined with respect to horizontal. The lower sifter comprises a lower sifter frame and a second mesh having a second mesh spacing. As unsifted soil placed upon the upper sifter is moved over the surface of the upper sifter some of it passed through the first mesh onto the lower sifter and then through the second mesh onto the ground, leaving debris on the first mesh and on the second mesh.

  • Patent number: 6892889
Abstract: A screen system employs a resiliently mounted housing, a vibration generator mounted to the housing, a mounting frame fixed to the resiliently mounted housing and a support surface. This system receives a screen including a screen frame and pre-tensioned screen cloth. The frame includes an inwardly extending mounting flange accessible from below the screen when placed in the housing. Clips pivotally mounted relative to the mounting frame include a first rounded lever extending upwardly to selectively engage the inwardly extending mounting flange. Second levers extend downwardly to cooperate with actuators. The actuators include inflatable bodies with contacts which, upon inflation, force the clips to engage the inwardly extending mounting flanges. This engagement retains the screen on a resiliently mounted housing and is able to further tension the screen in place.

  • Patent number: 6679386
Abstract: An apparatus and method for sizing and separating particles of generally low-density materials includes a stand, a frame movably suspended on the stand by a plurality of suspension assemblies, and an elongated screen box mounted on the frame. The screen box receives material to be processed at an input end and includes openings at an output end for discharging processed material. The frame and screen box are disposed at an incline relative to a horizontal surface on which the stand rests, so that material travels downwardly in the screen box toward the output openings. A vibrator motor is mounted on the frame input end. The arrangement of the motor and suspensions results in imposition of a combination generally circular planar motion to the frame and screen box at the input end and a generally oblong linear reciprocating motion at the central portion and the output end of the apparatus.

The leaf springs are oriented horizontally to avoid introducing vertical movement to the screen deck as it moves to and from the head and tail ends. The leaf springs are offset or deflected when the machine is at rest or in the neutral mid-point of its stroke. This arrangement advantageously utilizes the bias of the leaf springs to accelerate, assist or enhance movement of the screen deck during portions of its stroke and likewise to decelerate, hinder or retard the movement during other portions of its stroke. Abstract: A sieving device and the operation of a sieving device are proposed. The sieving device has a supporting frame which can be made to vibrate and a vibration frame which is held so as to be able to vibrate freely in relation to said supporting frame. A simple, compact design which provides good sieving and conveying performance is achieved in that the vibration frame is spring-elastically coupled to the supporting frame by helical springs, with the main spring axes of the spring elements extending in the direction of vibration of the tension waves. Furthermore, guiding elements for movable bearing arrangement of the vibration frame on the supporting frame are provided. The sieving device is operated in particular at a vibration frequency of at least 850 vibrations per minute at an average speed of approx. 11 m/s and at an average acceleration of the vibration frame relative to the supporting frame of approx. 2.2 m/s2.

The granular catalyst is loaded into individual compartments of a hopper and is ejected at a discharge rate controlled by a gate. When a vibrator is activated, a trough is caused to vibrate in its obliquely upward direction and the granular material in the trough is smoothly conveyed toward outlets of granular material passages formed in the trough, and is introduced to reaction tubes of the reactor via sieves. • Patent number: 4443332
Abstract: Apparatus for transferring heat between solid particles includes placing a first granular material composed of particles of a first size on the upper side of a downwardly sloping vibratory screen. The openings in the screen are sufficiently small to prevent passage therethrough of the particles of the first material. A second granular material composed of particles of a second size, smaller than the first size, is spread over the first material on the screen to mix with and sift through the first material as the screen is vibrated. The size of the particles of the second material is small enough to allow passage through the openings in the screen. The first and second materials are at different temperatures so that as the particles of the two materials mix, heat is transferred between the particles. After mixing and heat transfer, the first material flows off the lower edge of the screen where it can be gathered, and the second material flows through the screen where it likewise can be gathered.
