Abstract: A mobile multi-deck screening apparatus receives material for screening with a feeder of the apparatus. A first screen deck receives and screens material from the feed. A second screen deck receives an undersize fraction of the first screen deck. First and second discharge conveyors output oversize fractions of the first and second screen decks. The first and second discharge conveyors pivot to operate in directions selected between a first direction and a second direction. The first direction is forward. The second direction differs from the first direction. One or both of the first and second discharge conveyors is/are pivotable from one side to an opposite side of the apparatus. Oversize fraction material of the first screen deck and oversize fraction material of the second screen deck are selectively discharged in a common pile.

  • Patent number: 10856469
Abstract: A high strength sieve which is lightweight and durable without having to add springs, and without requiring a high level of force to effect adjustment of the louvers. The high strength sieve utilizes hollow tubes to support the louvers. Providing hollow tubes (i.e., rather than solid wires) allows for larger diameter holes to be used in the frame. This provides for increased bearing surfaces, as well as provides for better tolerances. This reduces the movement of the tubes within the holes. Preferably, the tubes are mounted in the frame through holes which are extruded, thereby providing for increased bearing surfaces and a tighter fit. The extruded holes also provide a natural lead-in for the insertion of the tubes (i.e., during assembly of the sieve). Alternatively, solid wires can be provided extending through the extruded holes instead of hollow tubes.

  • Patent number: 8596464
Abstract: A frame over which woven wire mesh is to be stretched and secured to form a sieving screen and which can be used to screen solids from drilling mud recovered from down-hole when drilling for oil or gas. The frame is a rectilinear moulded plastics frame having edge regions by which it is secured in place in a shaker. Within the frame is a plurality of rectilinear windows formed by an orthogonal array of intersecting ribs also of moulded plastics material. Some of the ribs are internally reinforced by rigid metal members which extend orthogonally between hollow box-section members which define a sub-frame for reinforcing the four edge regions of the frame. The orthogonal members are secured at their ends to the sub-frame. The ends of the sub-frame members are joined at the four corners of the sub-frame. In this way not are only the edge regions of the frame reinforced internally but so also are some of the orthogonally intersecting ribs, so as thereby to produce a rigid frame for the screen.

The method may include: removably and pivotally placing a removable reducer grate deck on a slanted grate deck; depositing excavated material on the removable reducer grate deck such that the material is separated by passing through both the removable reducer grate deck and the slanted grate deck; and releasing clogged material between grate bar members of the reducer grate deck and the slanted grate deck by engaging at least one internal bumper of the reducer grate deck with the moving equipment to push a free, non-pivoting end of the reducer grate deck upwards to release the clogged material.

Abstract: A vibratory apparatus for separating a liquid from a liquid-laden solid material. The apparatus includes an inclined trough having a base with a first end and a second elevated with respect to the first end. A deck is attached to the trough base, the deck defining support points positioned above the base spaced from one another by a distance sufficient to support the solid material above the deck, and passages located between the support points to allow liquid to flow to the deck. A vibratory drive is attached to the trough and oriented impart a conveying motion toward the trough second end. Solid material deposited onto the deck is advanced toward the second end by the conveying motion while the liquid flows along the trough base toward the first end under gravity.

Abstract: A method of separating a liquid from a liquid-laden solid material includes providing a trough having a deck defining a support surface with passages extending through the support surface. The liquid-laden solid material is deposited onto the support surface so that the liquid-laden solid material is supported by the support surface. A vibratory force is applied to the deck to separate a substantial portion of the liquid from the liquid-laden solid material. The liquid separated from the liquid-laden solid material is directed under gravity force through the passages extending through the support surface. The solid material is conveyed along the support surface by the vibratory force to a solids discharge point.

Abstract: A the operation of pulp screening apparatus may be improved by employing a multi element foil having a leading foil section and a trailing foil section spaced from and trailing leading section so that adjacent surfaces of the sections one formed by a portion of a pressure side of the leading section and the other by the leading end of the trailing foil section define opposed walls of a passage for fluid directing fluid flow from the pressure side of the leading foil section to a cambered low pressure side of the trailing section. The angle of attack (?) of the complete multi element foil is set to be significantly less than the angle of attack (?) of the trailing foil section to increase the negative pressure pulse generated by the trailing section and thereby improve operation of the screening device.

Abstract: A wedge wire for use in a wire type screen for screening papermaker's stock is formed with an elongated body (12) having an enlarged head (20) at the inlet surface of the screen. The head (20) is formed with tapered walls (30, 33) that cooperate to define grooves (28) at the inlet surface between adjacent elements including an upstream wall (30) and a downstream wall (33). A radiused protuberance or projection (37) defines one wall of a screening slot (15), with a wall surface (22) of an adjacent wedge wire element. The slot wall formed by the projection (37) is free of sharp edges and is limited in length, in the direction of flow through the slot (15), not substantially exceeding the gap width of the slot. The upstream wall (30) defining the groove (28) provides protection for the slot (15) against impact and damage by contaminants that may be contained in the papermaker's stock. The slot (15) is free of sharp corners so as not to impede flow through the slot.
