Abstract: A screen basket with replaceable profiled bars and method of making such screen basket are described herein. The screen basket includes profiled bars evenly spaced circumferentially to form a plurality of continuous slots that covers the whole basket length. The profiled bars are fixed in place by a backing structure, including support rings. In pulp and paper industry, this type of basket is mainly used for pulp screening and is commonly referred to as wedge wire basket. As opposed to conventional wedge wire baskets, in which the profiled bars are permanently joined to the rings, the present invention allows replacing the profiled bars when required and to fully re-use the main structural elements. This is achieved with an assembly that allows to insert the profiled bars, preferably consecutively sled into each aligned ring grooves in a vertical movement. The ring grooves are profiled such that there is sufficient clearance for sliding in the profiled bars.

  • Patent number: 6053329
Abstract: A mounting structure for a screen frame and/or a top cover to a vibratory frame of a screening machine requires only an initial one time adjustment and includes a pair of elastomeric restraints each including a compressible bumpers on a head-end of the screen frame or top cover and a pair of compressible rollers on a foot-end of the screen frame or top cover. The screening machine mounting structure accounts for the manufacturing tolerances between the screen frame or top cover and the vibratory box frame to provide a snug fit. The rollers allow for easy screen frame or top cover installation and removal and prevent metal-to-metal contact between the respective components which generates wear and noise during operation. Further, the mounting structure according to this invention can be retrofittable into existing screening machines as well as being original equipment and is useful for securing other components of the screening machine in addition to the screen frame and top cover.

  • Patent number: 5094360
Abstract: The invention concerns screen baskets featuring axially parallel screen rods with screen slots contained in between and, for support of the screen rods, rings that are coaxial with the basket axis, the rings being provided with recesses that are open toward the rim. The screen rods may have feet that are placed and fastened in the recesses. The screen rods are placed in the recesses while the rings do not have their final rounded shape. The rings are rounded so as to close the circular shape and to clamp the screen rods in place in the recesses that are constricted by the rounding.

  • Patent number: 4973407
Abstract: A filter for filtering liquids is proposed, in which the filter fabric along an arcuate path is mounted on a bearing element concomitantly rotating with the filter fabric. The bearing element is constituted by a rotatably mounted ring, which is mounted on a bearing inner ring connected to a wall of the filter. The seal between the bearing inner ring and the rotatably mounted ring is provided by an O-ring, which forms a radial or axial seal. In the case of the present filter, the inlet port is located in the rigid wall and its position and shape can be adapted to the particular requirements.

Abstract: Vertical screening device (1) having at least one cylinder screen (2) and connectible with its lower end portion (8) to a similar screening device or a drive unit and, with its upper end portion (7), to a similar screening device or a distributor device. The screening device is adapted, together with the other devices connected to it, to be imparted a movement of rotation. The invention is charaterized in that the screening device (1) comprises a bearing device (3) for supporting a feed screw (4) cooperating with the cylinder screen (2). The bearing device (3) is disposed within the cylinder screen (2) and fixedly connected thereto. The feed screw (4) is connected through a link (5) extending outside the periphery of the cylinder screen (2), to a fixed point (6) provided outside the screening device (1) for holding the feed screw (4) stationary.

  • Patent number: 4417978
Abstract: A centrifugal screening device comprises a cylindrical screen surrounded by a cylindrical casing spaced radially from the screen. A central shaft inside the screen carries a plurality of blades which are inclined so that material fed into one end of the space between the shaft and screen is thrown toward the screen by centrifugal force and is also propelled axially of the screen to an exit at the other end. Fine material passing through the screen is collected in a funnel at the lower end. The screen is made up of semicylindrical sections each comprising a frame in which metal mesh is secured by strips of woven synthetic resin material.
