  • Patent number: 4698150
Abstract: There is disclosed herein a beach trash remover which includes a motorized vehicle having a conventional construction type shovel attached to the front thereof. An opening covered by a screen is provided in the center of shovel to allow the beach sand, containing the trash, to drop back onto the beach thereby leaving the trash within the screened opening portion of the shovel. The screen is held on a frame which is coupled to the shovel through shock absorbers and means are provided to provide a vibrating motion to the screened frame to further aid in returning the sand to the beach. A grader may be attached to the back end of the beach trash remover to cover any tire tracks or otherwise smooth the beach.

  • Patent number: 4591432
Abstract: In sieving apparatus, an undercarriage carries a belt conveyor, which has a frame that is adapted to be folded in length about a hinge. The belt conveyor carries at its discharge end a sieving machine, which is adapted to be driven and which has an adjustable inclination relative to the belt conveyor. Hydraulic cylinder-piston units are provided for adjusting the inclination of the sieve and for pivotally adjusting the pivotally movable section of the conveyor belt frame. The sieving machine is adapted to be swung against that side of the adjacent section of the conveyor belt frame which faces downwardly when the apparatus is in operating position. As a result, when the apparatus is entirely collapsed the upper section of the conveyor belt frame extends above and along the lower section of said frame and the sieving machine is disposed above the upper section of said frame.

  • Patent number: 4552653
Abstract: A rear dump truck for transporting particulate material and simultaneously discharging and sieving the material. The rear dump truck includes a load box divided into a front section and a rear section by a partition dump door. The front section of the box forms a load chamber space for carrying the particulate material and the rear section forms a load chamber space including wire sieves for sieving purposes. To adjust the flow rate of the particulate material passing from the front section into the rear section through below the partition dump door upon the tilting up of the box, a stopper which is tiltable by a hydraulic jack is positioned just before the partition dump door. The particulate material is supplied in a suitable amount at a given time through the adjustment of the tilting of the stopper and passes onto the wire sieves. The material is sieved and the sieved particles are discharged through rear dump doors according to the particle sizes.

  • Patent number: 4312750
Abstract: A grain cleaning apparatus (10) for removing coarse and fine foreign materials from dirty grain before storage. The grain cleaning apparatus includes counter-rotating screen drums (18,20). Dirty grain is received in a frusto-conically shaped inner drum (18). Coarse foreign materials are prevented from passing through screen (100) of inner drum (18) and rather move to chute (38) where they fall to trough (40) for exiting from apparatus (10). Chute (38) is located between the output end (36) of the inner drum (18) and the output end (48) of the cylindrical outer drum (20). Grain is prevented from passing through screen (115) of outer drum (20). Fine foreign materials do pass therethrough, however, for exiting from apparatus (10). Clean grain drops from the output end (48) of outer drum (20).A motor (22) drives a secondary drive shaft (24). Shaft (24) drives first and second pulley systems (26,28) to rotate inner and outer screen drums (18,20) in opposite directions simultaneously.

  • Patent number: 4197194
Abstract: A portable loam screening apparatus includes a nearly-square sloping shaker screen supported by a box-like frame. The frame has a tall end and a short end joined by two sides. Funneling surfaces directed toward the screen are provided along the upper edges of the tall end and the sides. The short end is closed to provide a wall between separated loam and coarse material. A mixture of loam and coarse material is dumped onto the shaker screen from the shovel of an excavating vehicle. The coarse material falls from the lower end of the shaker screen outside of the frame, and the loam passes through the shaker screen to within the box-like frame. The separated loam falls down a sloping table within the frame and can then be retrieved by an excavating vehicle through the open tall end of the frame. A set of wheels mounted to one side of the frame is moveable relative to the frame from an operative position for transporting the apparatus to an inoperative position for resting the frame flush on the ground.

  • Patent number: 4176066
Abstract: A dewatering separator device for separating solid particles such as sand, gravel, or the like from a liquid, such as water, and thereby preconditioning the water either for further filtering elsewhere or for permitting the water to be accepted in storm drains. The separator device is of the gravitational flow type and includes a plurality of vertically arranged tubes, each of which has small apertures in the form of thin slits in their side wall. The mixture of solid material, i.e., sand, gravel, and the like, and water is dumped through the top of the tubes, causing the heavier solid material to pass through the tubes where it is collected in a constituent trap, and from which the material is periodically discharged at one location. The water passes through the small slits in the sidewalls of the tubes and is discharged from the separator device separately from the solid material. The device has a movable support to render it portable for transport to different job sites.

  • Patent number: 4083775
Abstract: A screening device suitable for cleaning railroad ballast which has become fouled with use, and of the type in which ballast to be cleaned is fed into a screen member to separate the coarse or ballast stone from the fines, the stone being reused to ballast the track. A screen member of generally frusto-conical shape, open at each end, is rotatably mounted on a track running frame, with the axis of the screen extending substantially parallel to the track and either horizontal or slightly inclined to the horizontal. The screen member is rotated so that centrifugal action results in the fouled ballast, loaded into the narrower open end of the screen member, moving up the walls thereof to its larger open end. The fines pass through the screen member and the stone is collected at a stone receiving member located adjacent the wide end of the screen member.
