  • Patent number: 7866484
Abstract: The invention relates to a sorting device and method for sorting granulated mass containing varied materials, such as granulated mass containing varied materials, such as granulated electronic scrap. According to the invention, the sorting device comprises a planar, elongated trough conveyor (1) having at least a first elongated and vertical edge (2, 3, 4); a feeding device (5) for feeding the mass into the first end (6) of the trough conveyor; a vibrator (9) provided with a motor (7) and an eccentric (8), whose rotation axis (10) is disposed in a plane deviating from the plane defined by the trough conveyor so that the mass proceeds obliquely forwards in the trough conveyor towards the first edge and second end (11); a first suction device (12) for removing the lightest surface portion of the mass near the edge, a guide (13) which is oblique with respect to the edge for bringing apart the mass flow from the edge; as well as a mechanical separator member (14) for dividing the mass flow into two parts.

  • Patent number: 7134556
Abstract: A circular tray having an upper surface shaped to incline downwardly from a center to an outer circumference. The tray including annular grooves for collecting gold. A crank is connected to the tray for rotating the tray. The tray is supported with a stand having at least one elongate arm extending radially across the tray above the tray in spaced apart relation thereto. Multiple loops of a line material are attached in spaced apart depending relation along the elongate arm in such a way that the bottom portion of the loop extends in a direction which is oblique with the elongate arm. Each loop is sized to have the bottom portion resting in close proximity with the upper surface of the tray so that when the tray is rotated, the loops mechanically move ore across the surface of the tray from the center to the outer periphery.

  • Patent number: 5749472
Abstract: A mining system and related methods for recovering gold and/or other heavy metals at multiple sites along a continuously hydrated ore processing route. The gold-bearing ore and primary or carrier water are dynamically and circuitously displaced to segregate the gold, and precipitate the gold particles into predetermined recovery sites along the flow path of the mix. Boil box recovery sites are selectively provided for recovery of nuggets and smaller gold particles. Secondary water churns and disrupts the primary carrier flow of the mix through each boil box. The master stream of gold-sized ore-primary water mix is subdivided into several separate streams or substreams. The sub streams are violent in nature, with one exception, and are typically contained in man-made canal-forming troughs or multiple recovery sits. Recovery sites have one or more drop slots. A downward draw caused by flow of secondary water in a conduit located below each slot enhances recovery.

  • Patent number: 4880530
Abstract: The invention comprises a screening device for separating fine particles from a stream of air and a particulate mixture containing coarse and fines which includes a box-like hollow housing tilted downwardly at an acute angle. The housing contains a plurality of elongated screening elements and an air cleaning device consisting of a blowpipe and a series of nozzles directed at the screening elements through Venturi tubes. At periodic intervals a jet or pulse of air is injected into the Venturi tubes to reverse air flow and rid the screen elements of adhered coarse particles. Substantially complete fines removal can be achieved by employing a recycling loop between the coarse particle outlet and inlet of the housing.

  • Patent number: 4863588
Abstract: A hydraulically operated set of riffles includes a network of spaced-apart tubular riffle bars arranged to lie above a collecting surface in a riffle box. A plurality of generally downwardly directed apertures is formed in each riffle bar, and a flange extends generally upwardly along the length of the riffle bar. An inlet of each riffle bar is connected to a source of water or other fluid. In operation, water or other fluid that is supplied to the riffle bars passes forcibly outwardly through the apertures and is subsequently constrained to flow outwardly through the spaces between adjacent riffle bars to prevent undesired accumulation of particles between adjacent riffle bars.
