  • Patent number: 10589194
Abstract: A filtration module (1) has a filter unit (2) with at least one filter element (6) arranged between first and second plates (4, 5). The filter element (6) has at least one layer of filter material (9, 10) sealed off at a periphery by an edge seal (12). The plates (4, 5) are pressed against each other by a resilient bracketing profile (3) that engages around the plates (4, 5) at their opposite side surfaces (21, 22, 23, 24). The bracketing profile (3) has a base (13) that curves inward transversely to the longitudinal direction (14) of the plates (4, 5) and that is delimited by lateral brackets (16, 17) that are bent inward at their free ends (18, 19) to engage laterally around a surface (20) of the filter element (6) facing away from the base (13). A method also is provided for producing a filtration module.

  • Patent number: 10525413
Abstract: A connecting system (1) has at least one connector (2) for a filter cassette (4) that can be inserted into a filter holder and has filter layers (5) between two end plates (6), and seals (7) between the filter layers (5) and/or between the end plates (6) and an adjacent filter layer (5). The connector has tensioning parts that engage in one another in a longitudinally displaceable manner and that can be fixed to the end plates (6) via their ends facing away from one another. The connector exerts a pretensioning force onto the end plates (6) when it is deflected to its maximum extent. The pretensioning force pulls the end plates (6) towards the filter layers (5), and when a contact-pressure force superimposed on the pretensioning force is applied to the end plates (6), the tensioning parts can be pushed towards one another correspondingly with the end plates (6).

Abstract: A filter device, particularly for filtering melt-type fluids, such as polymer melts, includes at least one filter disk having two filter disk halves connected to each other by their edges and provided with filter material on their exterior surfaces. The filter disk halves are held apart by a supporting device delimiting a substantially free hollow area between them, through which a fluid can flow freely. Inwardly, they delimit an outflow opening for the melt-type filtered fluid. The supporting device has individual supporting cams of substantially equal outer dimensions and arranged in several groups. Separated from each other, the supporting cams extend radially outwardly form the outflow opening, are rigidly connected to at least one of the two halves, and traverse the hollow area in such a way as to rest against the other filter disk half. This results in a filter device which is economical to produce and which has enhanced filter performance when in operation.

Abstract: A vise having vise members is provided with a vise face on each vise member. The vise faces are opposed and together define an initial vise volume having an open top for receiving loose, wet screenings. The vise faces form jaws moved relative to each other to squeeze the loose, wet screenings, which is a process of enclosing and applying force to the loose, wet screenings to compress the screenings and force the liquid out of or from the material of the screenings. The squeezing makes a loaf volume significantly smaller than the initial volume, and converts the loose wet screenings into a separate dry loaf. A platform has many separate stations. At one station (e.g., receiving & squeezing), a bottom of the trough is sieve-like for draining the liquid from the wet screenings. At another station (e.g., conveying), the bottom of the platform is closed to retain the separate dry loaf of screenings for conveying. At another station (e.g.

Abstract: An apparatus for filtering a liquid slurry is described. The apparatus uses a pair of filter chambers formed by a pair of fixed plates, and a pair of opposed moveable plates. The moveable plates are moved into engagement with the fixed plates by the downward movement of a wedge member disposed between the plates and, the plates are bias so that when the wedge member is withdrawn, the plates will be drawn together opening the filter chambers. The chambers are sealed by opposed arcuate gaskets so that the sealing action is achieved by internal pressure rather than the pressure driving the plates together. A filter media is provided on a continuous roll which extends between the gaskets and is intended to carry the filter cake out of the chamber when the plates are separated whereupon the cake will be dropped from the filter media into a collection area so that the filter media can be reused.
