  • Patent number: 8216199
Abstract: A removable manifold for a medical/surgical waste collection system. The manifold is dimensioned to be mounted to a receiver integral with the system. The manifold includes a driver for engaging a complementary valve internal to the receiver. The valve regulates flow between the receiver and the down line components of the waste collection system. The valve is normally closed. When the manifold is fitted to the receiver the driver engages the valve so as move the valve to the open position. This allows fluid flow from the manifold and receiver to the downstream components of the system.

The spring mechanism is connected to the pre-filter and allows the pre-filter to travel within the cavity as the pre-filter collects particulates.

Abstract: The invention relates to a fuel filter through which the fuel is to flow, in which water-separating, permeable layers are arranged spaced apart from one another in the direction of flow upstream of the filter layer, each time during operation of the filter the free space that lies between the two layers is connected to a first water collecting space, lying on the bottom of the filter, the first water collecting space lies below both the filter layer and the two permeable layers, is intended to permit a high degree of water separation. For this purpose, such a fuel filter is distinguished by the fact that the filter tube space lying upstream of the layer that is flowed through first of the two layers is connected to a second water collecting space within the filter, the assignment of which to the filter layer on the one hand and to the two permeable layers on the other hand coincides with that of the first water collecting space with respect to these components.
