  • Patent number: 8136674
Abstract: A filter device includes a filtering member having a rough part, which is comparatively low in a density of flow pores for flowing fluid, and a dense part, which is comparatively high in the density of the flow pores. The filter device further includes a support member that supports the filtering member and has an inflow passage and a discharge passage. The dense part supports the rough part, and is located between the rough part and the discharge passage, and is supported by a mechanical pressure applied by the support members. The filter device is capable of supporting the filtering member easily in a case member and securing a filtering area to enhance the performance of removing a foreign matter.

  • Patent number: 8114278
Abstract: The invention concerns a fuel filter 10, in particular for diesel fuels, that comprises a housing 11 and a filter medium 12. The filter medium 12 is arranged by means of a filter medium holder 24 in the housing, wherein the filter medium holder comprises a venting bore 25. Through the venting bore 25 gases that collect in the upper area of the fuel filter can pass from the crude chamber 21 into the clean chamber 22. For avoiding that contaminants can escape through a clean outlet 18 from the fuel filter 10 and damage components downstream, a clean medium 26 is provided that retains such contaminants.

  • Patent number: 7935255
Abstract: A filter cartridge configured as a filter-in-filter design with an inner filter and an outer filter. The filter cartridge has features, for example an overhanging lip, to engage with a lid of a filter housing in which the cartridge is installed such that the lid is connected to the cartridge. As a result, the cartridge can be connected to the lid to facilitate installation and removal of the cartridge. Alternatively, the same features that allow connection with the lid permit a user to manually grasp the cartridge during installation and removal so that the cartridge can be used without a lid having attachment features. The filter cartridge is also designed to enable use of a longer inner filter within the outer filter. A longer inner filter increases the amount of filter media available for filtering the fluid.
