Abstract: A new and improved separating device for separating particulate from a fluid stream including a plurality of screen units which are releasably held in a screen unit mounting assembly by inflatable tubes; the screen unit angular position is adjustable by adjusting the height of a plurality of adjustable support posts; and, dual vibrators are mounted with the screen unit mounting assembly and are interconnected for simultaneous vibration in mutually perpendicular directions.
Abstract: A liquid separating screen member is continuously oscillated, with an amplitude larger than the apertures in the screen member face, from a middle position with substantially the same speed in first and second opposite directions. The screen member separates liquid from the suspension of finely comminuted fiber material and the liquid, which suspension is flowing in the first direction. The oscillation prevents fiber mat build-up on the screen face during movement of the screen face either in the first or the second direction. The amplitude of oscillation may be about one-tenth of an inch, and the frequency of oscillations may be about 6 cycles/sec. with the average speed of oscillation of the screen member in both the first and second directions about 2.4 inches per second, and the maximum speed in both directions about 3.8 inches per second. The frequency of oscillation, which is below the natural frequency of the screen member and associated structures, is about at least two cycles per second.
Abstract: A transporting, sieving or filtering base or bottom consists preferably of extensible or bendably elastic materials and is divided into zones and supported. The individual zones are fixed between transverse elements or carriers which either belong to a driving frame system or constitute transverse braces of a frame or other supporting elements. The invention is particularly characterized in that the carriers or transverse braces limiting the zones have supporting or moving elements which make them movable individually upon a corresponding sliding roller and an elastically movable guiding path or in an elastically movable guiding profile. The movement is so carried out that the carriers or braces are shiftably coupled with each other while moving in the same direction in or upon these elements when the cross-sections connecting them reach their greatest possible longitudinal extension.
Abstract: A separator for effecting separation of solid materials from liquids has a filter screen arranged so that in operation liquid passes through that screen and solid materials are retained on and travel along that screen in a first direction. Generator means is provided for subjecting the screen to acoustic pressure waves, the generator means being arranged close to but not touching the screen so that in operation liquid passing through the screen couples acoustic pressure waves from the generator means to the screen. The generator means is an acoustic pressure wave transducer assembly that stretches at least nearly the whole way across the filter screen in a second direction transverse to said first direction. Preferably the generator means produces ultrasonic pressure waves and comprises a casing and a plurality of individual ultrasonic transducers within the casing so that a relatively uniform field of ultrasonic waves is produced over the entire width of the screen.
Abstract: Spent drilling mud riser box construction maintaining a selected high mud level for test and gravity flow to a sand sampling device and an alternately used shale shaker in which the shale shaker when operating will screen both spent drilling fluid and the residual flow from the sand sampling device.
Abstract: A trough, which receives mixed water and waste, has first and second openings in the bottom thereof. Oscillating grid means overlies the first opening, and is associated with stationary wiper means. The grid means allows the water to flow therepast into the first opening, and in conjunction with the wiper means directs the waste into the second opening.
