Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for the production of liquid cleaners, consisting of a cleaner housing with a cleaning chamber exhibiting an inner and an outer end, and a cleaning insert arranged inside the cleaning chamber. The cleaner housing is given a conical shape such that the cleaning chamber receives a smaller lateral dimension at its inner end than at its outer end, said outer end being openable. The cleaning insert is manufactured from a fluid-permeable, compressible cleaning material with a lateral dimension that in an initial state, outside the cleaner housing, exceeds the smaller lateral dimension of the cleaning chamber. The other end of the cleaner housing is kept open, and the cleaning insert is inserted into said other end having the larger lateral dimension, and is pressed into the cleaning chamber towards the end having the smaller lateral dimension.

Abstract: A non-contaminating paint strainer is comprised of a conical receptacle having a conical tapering side wall. The side wall has an inner surface and an outer surface. The conical receptacle defines a lower filtration portion having an aperture provided with reinforcing ribs formed integral with the side wall and extending into the aperture. A filtration mesh screen is secured to the outer surface of the tapering side wall adjacent the aperture and to an outer surface of the reinforcing ribs by glue applied solely to the outer surface of the side wall and outer surface of the reinforcing rib, whereby paint being filtered by the conical receptacle will be in contact solely with the inner surface, free of the glue. Any ink printing is provided on the outer surface of the conical side wall above the mesh screen.

  • Patent number: 6613221
Abstract: A sieve filter for fluid lines, especially for hydraulic pressure lines (2) in internal combustion engines which is formed of a hollow cylindrical main body (3) with a fluid inlet (4) and a fluid outlet (5), and of a fine mesh filter element (6) for through flow by fluid which has a bypass function when the filter element (6) is stopped up or filtering highly viscous fluid. The sieve filter (1) is biased by a spring element (7), and is insertable together with the spring element (7), between two axially spaced opposing surfaces (8, 9) inside the pressure line (2) such that its fluid inlet (4) and the spring element (7) are prestressed against the opposing surfaces (8, 9), whereby the main body (3) of the sieve filter (1) closes a bypass fluid channel passing the filter element (6) which is clearable through an axial displacement of the main body (3) against the force of the spring element (7) resulting from the rise of fluid pressure on the filter element.

  • Patent number: 6579458
Abstract: A screening device includes a screening element connected to a reinforcing element by a frictionally engaging clamping connection. Spacers located between the screening element and the reinforcing element provide a radial clearance therebetween. The screening element can be replaced when worn out, while the reinforcing element and associated parts can be reused with a new screening device. For this purpose, the screening element can be detached from the reinforcing element, which provides the actual support function, as a single unit by way of the frictionally engaging clamping connection. The clamping connection can be implemented by way of wedges or a conical seat.

Abstract: A device and a method are described, which are used for precipitating beverage sediment from the rinsing mixture of beverage production machines and which comprise a rinsing conduit, a sediment receptacle and a filtering means. In order to design a device of this type in a structurally simple manner such that it can be serviced more easily, it is suggested that the filtering means should comprise a first and a second filter which are arranged one after the other when seen in the direction of flow of the rinsing mixture and which are each provided with filtrate discharge means and that a flow connection for the rinsing mixture discharged from the rinsing conduit and for the filter cake precipitated on the first filter should be provided, said flow connection bypassing said first filter and leading into the sediment receptacle.

  • Patent number: 6568539
Abstract: A twist-on renewable filter comprising a one-piece hollow housing, made of polymeric material having a threaded adapter for attachment to a distribution head assembly. The filter housing is fabricated from components that are made of a polymeric material that are fused together to form the one-piece hollow housing. A filter media assembly is rigidly bonded at both ends within the housing. The renewable filter has an infinite life and can be removed and cleaned, for example, by reverse flushing the filter with a cleaning solution. A bypass valve 250 is provided within the filter that is designed to provide full closure for an infinite life. The bypass valve 250 is fully located within the one-piece hollow housing such that it cannot be disabled or tampered with. The bypass valve 250 functions to allow sufficient fluid to bypass the filter media when the filter media has become contaminated and will not permit the full volume of the normal oil stream to be filtered.

  • Publication number: 20020189993
Abstract: The invention relates to a filter device comprising a filter housing (10), a filter inlet (12), a filter outlet (14), and a filter element (16) which divides a filter area (18) into two partial areas (20,22). At least one of the partial filter areas is conical in form resulting from the fact that the cross-section of one partial area (20) is tapered from the filter inlet (12) to the filter outlet (14). Said partial areas are separated from each other by said filter element. This results in an optimum residence time distribution inside the filter device at a uniform flow rate, which is particularly useful for highly viscous fluids such as polymer melts or similar.

  • Patent number: 6468427
Abstract: A filter having a substantially cylindrical or slightly tapered body design which has a plurality of elongated apertures formed therethrough. Each aperture is defined side to side by a pair of elongated, wedge-like rib members disposed one on each side of each aperture, and top to bottom by a pair of cross members which present a substantially square top side and an angularly declining bottom side. The end effect is a substantially rectangular entry aperture for fluid flow with the exception of the declining bottom side which promotes smooth, low resistance entry flow. The present invention is also directed to a method of manufacture of filters having the above-described characteristics. In particular, the preferred method involves an injection molding process in which a molten plastic (such as high-density polyethylene, HDPE) is injected into a two-part mold.

  • Publication number: 20010023845
Abstract: A filter unit is disclosed suitable for use in a filter housing. The filter unit comprises superposed and spaced-apart inclined lamellar structures, preferably in the form of hollow truncated cones, each having a lower end side opposite an upper end side and a passage for a flow of liquid between each two of the lamellar structures. Each passage has an inlet for receiving an inflow of liquid to be filtered and an outlet for discharging an outflow of filtered liquid. In each of the passages, an overflow dam wall following a sinuous path is obstructing the flow of liquid and retains particulate matter contained in the liquid. Mounting means are also provided for mounting the filter unit vertically in a filter housing. The invention also concerns a prefilter comprising a filter unit as described above mounted vertically in a filter housing. Such prefilter can advantageously be used at the outlet of a septic tank.
