  • Patent number: 11420165
Abstract: The present invention provides a system for enriching a flowing liquid with a dissolved gas inside a conduit. The system comprises two or more capillaries, each capillary delivering a stream of a gas-enriched liquid to the flowing liquid. The first ends of the capillaries are positioned to form an intersecting angle with respect to the effluent streams such that these streams of gas-enriched liquid collide with each other upon exit from the first ends of the capillaries, effecting localized convective mixing within the larger liquid conduit before these gas-enriched streams are able to come into close contact with the boundary surfaces of the conduit, whereby the gas-enriched liquid mixes with the flowing liquid to form a gas-enriched flowing liquid. In the preferred embodiment, no observable bubbles are formed in the gas-enriched flowing liquid. Methods of making and using such system are also provided.

Abstract: In a water treatment system, fouling is made earlier detectable, considering additionally the effect of spacers arranged between its separating membrane layers. A water treatment system 1 includes a pre-treating unit for pre-treating a raw water; a desalting unit having a separating membrane unit for separating substance to be separated from the raw water pre-treated in the pre-treating unit, using a separating membrane; and a monitoring unit between the pre-treating unit and the desalting unit. The monitoring unit has a monitor device fitted to a bypass pipe and configured to have a closed vessel having at least one transparent or semitransparent surface, and an image-pickup device which makes the raw water flowing in this vessel visible through the transparent or semitransparent surface. In the vessel, separating membrane layers which the separating membrane unit has, and a fouling-generating member are arranged to be put onto each other.

Abstract: A spout that dispenses water from a water dispenser has a disinfection portion that provides two passes of the water therethrough. The disinfection portion has two flow tubes, the second arranged inside the first, so that an annular cross-section flow path is defined by an inside wall of first tube and an outside wall of the second tube. A second flow path having a circular cross-section is defined by an inside wall of the second tube. The water flow is transferred between the flow at a second end of the disinfection portion by a second end portion. At a first end portion, located at a first end of the disinfection portion, a first end portion body provides connections to the disinfection section for both an inlet and an outlet. The order of flow through the disinfection portion flow paths may depend upon the orientation of the spout.
