Patent number: 8910645Abstract: An apparatus is provided for cleaning paint rollers and/or brushes. It comprises a roller cover/brush holder that may be coupled to a drill or other power tool, and a container and cap assembly. Advantageously, the container accommodates the holder and a roller cover or paintbrush with a minimal effective volume of cleanser. The cap closes and substantially seals the container to contain spray or spillage during high-speed rotation of the holder within the container. In use, the container is filled with cleanser, such as soapy water, and the roller is spun for several minutes. The container is drained, then refilled with rinse water and the process is repeated as needed. The roller or brush may be spun dry after cleaning, or between wash and rinse cycles. The apparatus provides effective cleaning with a reduced volume of water or cleanser and requires minimal clean-up.Type: GrantFiled: November 14, 2011Date of Patent: December 16, 2014Inventor: Brian Joseph Piccioni

Patent number: 5489034Abstract: A one-piece injection molded tamperproof security seal is used for sealing the ends of tubular members, such as are found in some types of electricity meters. The seal is compact, it may be applied where there is limited space, and it has a high degree of inviolability. The seal comprises a plug adapted to be received in the tubular end, blocking means on the plug adapted for cooperation with engagement means on the tubular member, first locking means on the plug, and a closure portion which is hingeably attached to the plug and provided with second locking means. The seal has an open configuration in which the closure portion is remote from the plug portion and a sealed configuration in which the closure portion is folded over the plug with the first and second locking means in mutual locking cooperation.Type: GrantFiled: September 26, 1994Date of Patent: February 6, 1996Inventor: Eduardo D. Patent number: 5103990Abstract: A single service container having a hollow body and a cap with a portion extending interiorly of the body. The cap is mounted to seal a wide mouth style of opening formed at the upper end of the body. Interiorly of the mouth, a portion of the cap extends downwardly so as to cooperate with the positive internal pressure of the container and assist in sealing the cap on the body. A conical ring is formed on the periphery of the dome and engages an undercut interior surface adjacent to the mouth. The container further includes means for sealingly engaging the perimeter of the mouth. To open the container, a pulling member is pulled thereby severing the sealing engagements between the cap and the mouth, releasing the internal pressure and opening the container.Type: GrantFiled: October 29, 1990Date of Patent: April 14, 1992Assignee: Hoover Universal, Inc.Inventor: Christopher Irwin

Patent number: 4801039Abstract: An animal proof container is set forth. The container comprises a can having a bottom, a sidewall having an inside surface having a plurality of substantially flat portions each having a recess defined thereby, an outside surface having a corresponding plurality of holes communicating to the recesses and a rim defining an open top. A lid of the container has a cover portion adapted to cover the open top of the can and a plurality of members extending downwardly peripherally from the cover portion, fitting adjacent the inside surface of the can and having lower end portions adjacent the flat portions of the inside surface, the lower end portions being biased outwardly towards the flat portions sufficiently to proceed into the recesses when the lid is pushed fully downwardly onto the can. The lid is biased normally upwardly relative to the can sufficiently for preventing the lower end portions from entering the recesses.Type: GrantFiled: February 11, 1988Date of Patent: January 31, 1989Assignee: Netra PlasticsInventors: Mark McCall, Jeffrey W. Patent number: 4609121Abstract: A child resistant container construction. The dispensing opening of the container is normally closed by a plug having a pull tab thereon. The plug is removable and reinsertable in the dispensing opening. The plug is formed so that it is distortable. A rigid, rotary locking member is carried by the plug. In one angular position on the plug, the locking member prevents distortion of the plug and thereby prevents plug removal. In a second angular position on the plug, the locking member permits distortion of the plug upon pulling the pull tab, thereby permitting its removal from the dispensing opening. In other embodiments, the locking member can be completely removed from the plug to permit plug distortion and removal.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 1985Date of Patent: September 2, 1986Assignee: The Drackett CompanyInventor: Clifford J.
