Abstract: A security closure for bottles and the like, which makes unauthorized opening clearly evident, comprises a pourer body, a cylindrical sleeve having an inner rim for retaining the pourer body, a cap screwed onto the pourer body, and a security band constituted by a ring which is divided into two structurally-independent, identical portions, and which is fixed to the cap by means of a weakened line, external teeth being formed on the cylindrical sleeve and opposing internal teeth being formed on the ring for engaging the teeth when the cap is first unscrewed.

Abstract: A container closure assembly comprises a container neck, a closure for the neck and a tamper evident ring frangibly coupled to the closure and retained on the neck when the closure is removed from the neck, wherein the tamper-evident ring has a generally non-circular shape. Preferably, the tamper-evident ring is substantially polygonal, e.g. substantially square, with outwardly curved sides and arcuate corners. The tamper-evident ring is retained on the neck by hooks that abut against a shoulder on the container neck.

Abstract: A container and stopper assembly with the container having a head comprising a neck connected by a shoulder to a body of the container. The stopper and the head have respective complementary locking portions for locking by rotation. The locking portions are an elastically flexible axial blade carried by the stopper and axial portions carried by the shoulder. The axial portions include a first portion for catching and retaining the blade and a second portion for abutment of the blade ensuring that it is retained by the first portion and between the two portions.

Abstract: A dispensing packing in particular for a stick-shaped cosmetic pasty product, comprising a hollow body, a product-carrying piston axially movable but held against rotation in the hollow body, a screw for the axial displacement of the piston and a knurled member for rotating the screw, the hollow body exhibiting a non-circular for example oval cross-section, the means for rotating the knurled member comprising an endless tape mounted on the lower end of the body and displaceable in the peripheral direction thereof and comprising on its inner surface projecting elements co-operating with the driving elements on the outer surface of the knurled member to rotate the latter upon the displacement of the tape whereas the hollow body comprises at the level of the driving tape openings permitting the engagement of the complementary driving elements of the knurled member and of the tape.

Abstract: A plastic molded cap made in two parts to have a cap body, and a closing disc. Making a cap in two parts conserves material and permits fine molding detail substantially without defects to be placed at the proximal end of the cap.

Abstract: The present invention involves a child resistant closure for containers with threaded necks. It involves an inner cap and an outer cap which engages with one another by ratchets in order to close but these ratchets do not engage when an attempt is made to open the closure. The inner cap and the outer cap are generally cylindrical and have sides and a top, although the outer cap may have an open top. The inner cap has threads on its inside and is adapted to non-removably receive the outer cap so that the outer cap is rotatably engaged therewith. The outer cap is non-removably but rotatably mounted on an engaged with the inner cap. Atleast one keyway slot is located either on the outside of the inner cap or the inside of the outer cap and there is atleast one keyway protrusion extending toward the keyway slot and located on which ever of the inner cap and outer cap does not contain the slot.

Abstract: A spooning closure generally comprising a skirt a top, a spooning opening and a hinged spooning lid which is adapted to pivot from a closed position to an open spooning position. A locking means is provided, which is adapted to securely and releasably lock the spooning lid in the closed position. The locking means comprises a tongue and a friction engaging slot. It may further comprise an arcuate latch projection which extends at an acute angle to the spooning lid bottom surface and a cooperating keeper which partially defines the spooning opening and is formed by an arcuate cantilever. Also provided is a reinforcing web extending from the bottom of the spooning lid.

Abstract: A flask is closed by a closing device comprising a closing cap cooperating with the neck of the flask. The device includes two open ramps diametrically opposite provided on the neck of the flask and in the center of which is formed an axially extending projection, the closing cap including a cylindrical skirt formed inside with two diametrically opposite latching studs and each carrying a housing which cooperates with one of the projections.

Abstract: Rib and groove snap-type action securing elements are formed respectively on closure bases and caps so that a number of different closure caps can be disposed for co-action with a single base to fabricate a number of different closure assemblies. In one embodiment the rib is carried by a depending circumferential wall of the cap for co-action with a circumferential groove formed in the base, while in another embodiment the rib is carried by an upstanding circumferential wall of the base for co-action with a groove disposed peripherally about the cap. In other embodiments a disc-like intermediate cap is disposed between a base and a top cap formed with a surrounding depending wall with a bead along its lower edge for co-action with the lower edge of the base.

Abstract: There is disclosed a child resistant bottle closure assemblage comprising an outer cap member, an inner cap member and an interlocking member disposed between the inner and outer cap members. When secured to a bottle in its normal, upright position, the outer cap member can be rotated without engaging the interlocking member so that the assemblage can not be removed from the bottle. When the bottle is inverted so that the interlocking member engages the outer cap member, rotation of the outer cap member results in removal of the entire assemblage from the bottle.

Abstract: A closure for a container comprises an outer part having a top wall and a depending peripheral skirt having inner, and outer surfaces, an inner part having a top wall and a depending peripheral skirt having inner and outer surfaces, the inner surface of the skirt of the inner part having means for attachment to a container, and a support element between the top walls resisting axial movement of the inner part top wall towards the outer part top wall. Adhesive may connect the top wall of the inner part to the support element which may have a domed central region receiving the adhesive. The peripheral region of the support element may be connected to the skirt of the outer part to resist rotation e.g. by adhesive. The inner part may be a push-fit in a folded-in bottom edge of the skirt of the outer part.

Abstract: A container cap and a method for forming a container cap with a skirt portion that attaches to the container are provided. The cap has depending tabs attached by a living hinge to the skirt portion. Threads are provided as connectors for mating engagement with the container. The hinged tabs are folded through at least 180.degree. to be received in cavities in the skirt portion. The cavities have converging sidewalls mating with converging edges to snap lock the tabs in the operative position. A lug may be provided on the threads to lock the cap on the container. The method includes the steps of forming the cap with hinged depending tabs, removing the core mold from the cap interior, flexing the tabs inwardly to allow the cap to drop out of the cavity mold, folding the tabs into the skirt portion and snap locking the tabs into the cavities.

Abstract: An all-plastic press-on, twist-off closure for a container having threads in the neck finish is made of a hard plastic shell having a top and a peripheral skirt. A gasket member is provided on the inside of the shell located adjacent the top and the shell skirt. The gasket member has resilient deformable ribs for engaging the threads and the gasket member and the shell skirt are held together against rotation with respect to each other by interlocking spline means on the shell skirt and the gasket member skirt.

Abstract: A bottle for containing a multi-phase liquid product has a bottle member with a main bottle wall and a lower bottle wall forming a neck with an opening, and a closure member having a central closure wall which engages and supports the neck and an outer closure wall which is in an end-to-end abutting relationship with the main wall of the bottle member and supports the main wall.

Abstract: A bottle stopper comprising a cap shaped outer body member having an axial shank extending from the bottom of the stopper and an inner body member comprising in turn a portion for attachment to the outer body member and a hollow sealing member in which the shank is inserted and which is adapted to be inserted in the bottle neck. Between the attachment portion and the hollow sealing member, there is a plurality of bridge members connecting both members. Means are also provided in the inner body member to mate with further means on the neck to limit the insertion of the hollow member in the neck and said means also limit the rotation of the stopper on the bottle.

Abstract: A cap for closing a bottle shaped container. The cap has an inner lid formed with a ring groove that receives a lateral rib protruding inwardly from an outer lid that encompasses the inner lid. The inner lid has a sealing plate forming the top thereof that has a central portion connected to a side peripheral portion by a flexible hinged structure so that the central portion is movable with respect to the peripheral portion. Cushion material is formed integrally with or attached to the central portion of the inner lid and is contacted by the outer lid to urge the central portion into contact with the container thereby providing an air-tight seal.

Abstract: A bottle closure-cup assembly for use with a bottle having a rotatably removeable cap is provided. The assembly includes a cup having an inner cylindrical collar extending from the cup base and spaced apart from the cup wall. The collar includes a plurality of inwardly facing axial ribs and a plurality of transverse retaining lugs for engaging the cap. Support fins extend between the cup wall and the collar for strengthening the assembly. When the cup is positioned on the cap, the cup and cap may be rotatably displaced as a unit to remove the cap as the cap remains by pulling the cup away from the bottle, thereby allowing the cap to be removed from the bottle separately.

Abstract: An abutment face is provided in or adjacent the shoulder of a bottle or other container onto the neck of which a cap is screwed to seal the bottle. The cap has two parts--an inner part which screw-threadedly engages the neck and resiliently seals with it; and an outer part which is in driving engagement with the inner part. In order to ensure proper orientation of the outer part with the body of the bottle (if for example a flat surface on the outer part is to be aligned with a flat surface on the body of the bottle) while still ensuring a seal between the inner part and the bottle, a stop face is provided inside the outer part and, when the inner part has already sealed, abuts with the abutment face to cause such orientation. Upon initial capping of the bottle, the inner part is screwed tight onto the neck and the outer part is then forced over the inner part in a proper orientation until engagement between them is established.

Abstract: The present invention relates to an extremely useful air-tight cap for bottle, and more particularly an air-tight cap adapted for use in a so-called positioning container wherein a bottle of a non-circular cross section such as a polygonal or oval form is closed by a cap of a same cross section when it is brought to a determined positional relationship with respect to said bottle and capable of achieving tight closure of the cap in such determined position to maintain air tightness and to completely prevent the leak of the content by means of a structure capable of achieving maximum packing effect.

Abstract: A removable stopper for a screw-neck bottle. The bottle has a radial projection arranged transverse to the thread forming a stop at the lower end of the thread. The stopper has a mating internal thread also having a terminal transverse radial projection at the lower end thereof. A second transverse radial projection spaced from and parallel to the terminating projection is formed on the stopper inner wall. The second projection resides on a weakened portion of the stopper wall to permit it to flex radially and pass over the transverse projection on the bottle neck when either applied to or removed from the bottle. The bottle neck projection is closely confined between the two projections on the stopper when in engaged position.

Abstract: A two-piece closure for containers having a metal outer cap and an inner cap fixedly positioned within the outer cap is disclosed. The outer metal cap has a top wall integrally formed with an annular downwardly depending sidewall, the sidewall having a smooth, rounded edge formed by a U-shaped fold of a thin portion of the sidewall which portion is of such a thickness that said fold has a thickness approximately equal to the thickness of that portion of the sidewall adjacent to the thin portion. The inner cap can be any conventional cap which can be fixed inside the metal overcap and which has attaching structure for attaching the closure to the container.

Abstract: A package for such liquids as men's cologne and after shave lotion comprising a cork covering for a bottle and cap in the form of two body members recessed for receiving the cap and bottle and so arranged as to facilitate the handling and opening and closing of the bottle and cap. The cork covering serves to protect against breakage while providing a particularly appealing outer configuration.
